Brilliantly funny, had to keep turning the pages to find out what Eva got herself into next. Can't wait to start the next one. So can I say in all honesty that if the synopsis hadn't convinced me to read this book, the website that accompanied definitely would have. Anyone who knows me at all realizes how much I love to laugh and how important a good sense of humor is to me in a book. When I started reading this it was a bit of a slow starter. I thought Eva was a pushover, with bubbles for brains who was going to wear on my last nerve.

Boy w So can I say in all honesty that if the synopsis hadn't convinced me to read this book, the website that accompanied definitely would have. Once the book picked up, I couldn't put it down! And since they got together almost years ago, she's done nothing but cause trouble! The last time Chrissie tried to 'help' she set 40 demons free from a forbidden book. Now being shut in the house and lonely, she starts an advice blog for vampires under the alias Eva Prim - and she ends up outing vampires on the Internet, accidentally stealing another vamp's mate, become a demon master, eaten a stoner and managed to get called before the Inquisitor.

Can Chrissie work her way out of this one, or will she really be executed this time? And just what secrets has her husband Stefan been keeping from her all this time? I loved that I was thrown into this book, but that I could actually follow what was happening. I never got confused as to who was who and how they were all intertwined in the main plot.

The whole mess starts because Chrissie wants some friends and isn't allowed to leave the house. So of course, when demented vampire Cletus is on the loose causing havoc and one of her blog friends is hiding from his advances, Chrissie just has to rescue her! All the encounters with the other commenters on the blog were making me laugh so hard! When they all team up with a couple of the demons from the book, Cynthia and Jackson, to rescue Goldenrae from Cletus things only got even funnier. Add in a stoner who works at the burger restaurant and goes from quick snack to friend really fast, plus all the complications with Stefan who was something else before he was a vamp , and the High Commander's bounty on Eva for exposing them and it's almost like reading a supernaturally infused version of Pineapple Express - only it's actually funny!

I'm probably not doing a super great job explaining this book, but I don't want to give too much away. I feel like all the characters had well fleshed out personalities and the end of the book left things open for more Eva Prim craziness, of which I hope there is lots. Thanks to Jordan for requesting a review! So glad I read this one and I highly recommend it to anyone who'd like to be pleasantly surprised and has a sense of humor. I possibly would not pick up the book, the cover doesn't really draw me in, it looks cartoony in a way. I am so sure that is not a word. Now on to the book funny is what I would describe the book.

Chryssie is married to the Master Vampire of New England which means he is the head honcho in charge of all. Now he seems a bit I received this book to give an honest review. Now he seems a bit like he has trust issues with Chryssie which you get some examples but not much of them. So when Chryssie gets a computer she now has access to the outside world! Well it all goes wrong after the blog posting under her new name Eva! Chryssie is witty, doesn't take no crap from anyone.

She wants to be in on the action of things and not just on the sidelines which I give her props for. When Eva Primm's blog posting gets out of control there is trouble on the front lines of home and the big dogs of the vampire world get called in. Chryssie finds herself in trouble she finds out secrets about her husband which she didn't even know about.

She makes new friends which is what she wanted. I do wonder if there is maybe more in this story world, as maybe another book? Now what I had a problem with on some parts of the book are as followed. And thus my rating went down. It was kind of confusing to read wot where I had to go back and re-read a sentence to make sure I understood who was staying what.

I hate to have to go back and re-read a sentences just to either understand or make sure I read it right. When Chryssie's husband found her and her gang of "friends" and they were all switching bodies I take it? It got kind of confusing as to what was going on, who was who and what not. I could have dealt with maybe just one body switching but when it was going back and forth as it seemed like I lost interest. The ending was okay, I guess I would have like the bad guy to have gone back on his word and started a blood bath as he seemed to be building up an army.

But maybe the author has other plans for the future books. I do not know. If you want a book that is not all gory like, though the shifting of vampires is kind of gruesome! If you want to laugh at how the main character takes things into her own hands, you like vampires then this may be the book for you. Oct 19, Sarah-Jayne Briggs rated it really liked it Shelves: I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways.

This review may contain spoilers. Generally speaking, I've grown sick of vampires. I do think that they're over-used in fiction and especially with the whole vampire-meets-teenage-girl-and-falls-in-love-with-her. There were a couple of things that drew me to this book. The first was the front cover. I really liked it. It drew me in straight away. The second thing was the simple fact that the romanc I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways. The second thing was the simple fact that the romance was between two vampires - an unusual enough occurrence that made me interested enough to enter a giveaway for this book.

Jordan K. Rose (Author of Her Vampire's Promise)

I have to say, there's something undeniably sweet about Eva and Stefan's relationship, even though parts of it do strike me the wrong way. Like the fact that Stefan keeps Eva locked up when he's not there - I think, personally, I'd hate it if someone did that to me. It really comes across as controlling and a bit mean. There were quite a few moments in the book that really amused me. The whole gas mask thing was something I could easily picture in my mind and that just made it even more amusing. I was really glad to see a book that stayed true to most of the vampire myths - though wood didn't seem to play a part.

Still, it was good to see vampires who couldn't walk in daylight. I can't describe how irritating it is when even good books have the whole, 'oh, and that whole myth about us not being able to walk in daylight is wrong. The writing was generally really good and the first person perspective worked really well to make me empathise with Eva as a character. I do have to say that there were some things that seemed contradictory. Like a certain character's attitude on Eva's blog even before Eva took the vampire's approved mate - and that there was a lot of danger from that character even before then.

As well, there was the approved mate's attitude on Eva's blog - it didn't come across as a mutual relationship. I really did like the demons in the book, even though they were pretty stupid. The other characters were pretty good and well-rounded, too. I think I'd definitely be interested in reading other books in this series.

It's nice to read something more lighthearted at times. Jan 26, Carole Rae rated it liked it. I think for this review I will divide and conquer it's been a while this I've done this format! The Good -It was a quick read. I finished it in a couple days. So much goofiness going on. Hec I think for this review I will divide and conquer it's been a while this I've done this format! I was quite worried. I am curious to see what is next for this vamp.

May not read the sequel until it is at my library a freebie on Amazon like this one. They are already married and so forth, so the romance wasn't annoying and taking away from the story. There wasn't too much drama going on yet. I was SO worried that it would be just about a vamp being bored and owning a blog about being a vamp.

However, it turned itself around. I don't think she was even a red-head. Yes, funny, but there were times I really wanted to punch her and tell her shut her mouth. You can't honestly be that daft and bitchy. I would not have stayed with him afterwards Conclusion This was a fun book. Glad it was a freebie though. It was certainly entertaining and it was better than I had originally thought. The ending was totally predictable, but I liked it. The beginning DID warn me, but it did get better when the demons appeared. Thank goodness for those lovable and idiotic demons. I honestly think they made this book.

Without them it would have been a total meeeeh. I recommend this for those that need some paranormal mixed with some much needed comedy. In the end, I shall stamp this with 3 stars. Sep 23, Brandee un Conventional Bookworms rated it really liked it.

The Demon Mistress is a well-written, evenly pace, fun read! She'd do, and has done anything and everything in order to win a friend. But something always goes wrong. Luckily, she's married to the Master Vampire of the New England region, who does what he can to ensure her happiness. Such as buying her a new laptop which she then uses to create a blog and her alter-ego, Eva Prim. Chryssie find i The Demon Mistress is a well-written, evenly pace, fun read! Chryssie find it's easier to make friends online and she's feeling helpful and useful for the first time in quite awhile.

But inevitably something goes wrong. I enjoyed the first person, present-tense delivery of Chryssie's story. I did enjoy Chryssie's growth as a character in The Demon Mistress. I felt she learned a few things - like that maybe she did have a few friends. My only real complaint about the book is that the humor seemed too deliberate at times. This is the first book in the series and over the course of the story, where we are introduced to Chryssie's world.

Her husband, Stefan, is the vampire leader in the Northeast. Stefan is somewhat one-dimensional through most of the book but we start learning more about him towards the end. And I look forward to learning more about this man, who puts up with Chryssie's well-meaning misguide-ness, as the series progresses.

We are also introduced to a colorful ensemble including other vampires, werewolves, and demons. We also learn a few details about the creatures inhabiting Chryssie's world - such as the length of nose hair and putrid-smelling breath of a shifted vampire. The Demon Mistress was a fun read - full of campy humor. The hijinks Chryssie gets into - all in a well-meaning attempt at making and keeping friends - was entertaining.

I appreciated the development of the side characters too, as I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them. This isn't high-brow literature but if you're looking for a light read with camp enough for lots of giggles, you'll enjoy meeting Chryssie and company. Review by Tammy Chryssie is a blogger. And the wife of Stefan, the head of the region.

After hundreds of years and being kept locked in the house, Chryssie wants friends. So she starts a blog and gives herself a new moniker, Eva Prim. No way this could be a problem. One newly turned fledgling, a couple demons, a vampire or two and some werewolves join together to fight what they think is an evil vampire.

Not in the least. What I do mind is being bored off my gourd and trying to force myself to read. It also showed how a group of people made friends through a blog can come together to help each other. The adventure alone is worth it!!

Oct 04, Emi Lia rated it it was amazing. It was like reading a modern day paranormal version of I Love Lucy. Stefan, Eva's sexy Vampire husband, is a little over protective of Eva, so when he is out on business, he leaves her home alone, and locked in. It sounds mean, but he has his reasons, lol. To help with her boredom he buys her a laptop, so she starts a blog, and that is when things get a little crazy. She is also given a gift, a couple of Demon friends, actually some of the ones she let out of the book by mistake. Eva goes on, what she thinks, is a life saving mission of one of her blog friends.

But what she really does is cause havoc in her husband's territory and is the most sought vampire from everyone. Just totally awesome and well deserving of the 5 start rating. I love thrillers, suspenseful, action, and lust filled Paranormal stories, but I also like when someone throws a different spin on things and gives it a fresh look.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Oct 03, Star rated it liked it.
