It is a practice that promotes harmony and peace with others. A multi-faceted career has kept Linke connected to the business world, with skills she developed through her self-taught approach. She worked in computer graphics for a couple of years, designed two homes, owned a tool business and later a handyman service, purchased a Service Master franchise and owned and operated that in Buena Vista from and owns several housing rentals in town. Linke was involved with Chaffee County Mentors for 5 years. But the mentor program is a wonderful way for an adult to participate in the life of a child and help them through some life challenges.

The Rocky Mountain affiliate in Buena Vista offers local free classes twice a year for families and significant others of individuals with mental health illness. Linke co-teaches the class. There are many people living in Chaffee County that could benefit from this class. Linke says that she attended a 3-day training in Fort Collins that prepared her to co-teach the class as a volunteer.

The NAMI class is structured in a series of 12 educational sessions, meeting twice a week, to help support caregivers of their loved ones.
