Aug 17, Eve rated it it was ok. This story was very confusing, uneventful, constantly jumped from one character to another May 16, Tara rated it did not like it Shelves: I'm not even done this book and I'm already able to tell you it's flaws.
Hardback Editions
The characters are shallow and flat and the author has this really bad habit of not making it clear who is speaking. For example, end of Chapter 11, Brodie the Guardian tells Tasha the psychic that they need to figure out what it is about her and her ability that surprised the main villain, Duran. Beginning of chapter twelve, suddenly Brodie is on guard and asking Tasha how she knows Duran was sur I'm not even done this book and I'm already able to tell you it's flaws.
Beginning of chapter twelve, suddenly Brodie is on guard and asking Tasha how she knows Duran was surprised. So far, apparently this book is about a group of people kidnapping psychics in order to make psychic babies. Downgraded to one star from two stars. Nope, apparently that was what the whole thing was. A group of people kidnapping psychics in order to make psychic babies. You don't find out why.
A Bishop Files Novel
There's a small bit that has nothing to do with the story involving a kid and a psychic cat that doesn't make another appearance until the end, when you find out from the epilogue that the kid is adopted by someone That was the book, in a nut-shell. Apparently this whole book is just a set-up for the 3rd. Dec 15, Diane rated it it was ok Shelves: Hooper's writing is fluid as always, but it felt like I spent the whole book waiting for something to happen, then it ended. Some of her longer titles were very good, too such as Finding Laura, which did reincarnation "right". I may keep reading her from the library, but she's certainly off my "must buy" list.
Mar 14, Vera Maslow rated it it was ok. Bishop Spinoff series Book 2 Slow, jumped around, and lackluster. It seemed like it was a lot of set up and background. I couldn't really get into the characters until almost the end of the book, where it started to pick up and ended fairly abruptly. I'm hoping how things come together in the series will be good, but getting there is not as enjoyable as the previous book and bishop series.
I'm not sure I like how things are changing with this spin-off series. I miss the larger part that Bishop played. Also with this book we seem to have 2 different shadowy organizations seeking out physics, while each one seems have a definite role, good and evil, I'm not sure that overall either is a good thing.
Each seems to have their own agenda. Oct 22, Jean rated it it was amazing. May 23, Jessica rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed reading this book. The book started off slow, but it picks up and starts moving very quickly. It has an easy plot to follow that is filled with intrigue and a few twists that were not that hard to predict. I enjoyed this book much more than the previous book in the series and I cannot wait for the next book to see where the plot goes.

This book also had good characters that I wanted to see succeed in their mission against those part of the evil "other" organization. It was also I really enjoyed reading this book. It was also nice to see the return of characters that were introduced in the previous book as well. This second book in the Bishop Files definitely surprised me and I highly look forward to the next book that is coming out towards the end of Jul 24, Micky Cox rated it liked it.
I really like this series, but this book is obviously part of a two part mini-series as the book did not end with an actual conclusion. It leaves it clear that the story does not end. While I don't mind that typically, I don't have the next book yet so it was slightly frustrating to finish and not be able to just continue on to the next book as the story continues. It is an interesting storyline and decently plotted although the plot gets muddled occasionally as it jumps from viewpoint to viewpo I really like this series, but this book is obviously part of a two part mini-series as the book did not end with an actual conclusion.
It is an interesting storyline and decently plotted although the plot gets muddled occasionally as it jumps from viewpoint to viewpoint. All in all, very entertaining and I will definitely pick up the next book. I just hope it gets to the meat of the story soon because this little appetizer didn't really cut it.
A Bishop Files Novel: A Deadly Web 2 by Kay Hooper (2015, Paperback)
May 15, Arlene Downey rated it really liked it Shelves: I enjoyed this book. I had not read the previous book and the story was not what I expected. Instead, it was a story of a group stalking psychics and making them disappear. Bishop appeared but did not drive the story. I still enjoyed the book.
Paperback Editions
Now I know I need to read the first one and look for the next one! Any book wi I enjoyed this book. Any book with an unresolved problem drags me into the series. The opinion expressed in this review is my own. Jul 06, Kristi rated it it was ok. I was disappointed in the first book, but decided to give this one a try since maybe I couldn't get into the first one because it was just too much being the first in the series.
I'm sad to say that this wasn't the case. The story jumped from one POV to another.

I wasn't really invested in any of the characters. Plus it felt a bit incomplete.

I think I'll give up on this series although I won't give up on other books from Kay Hooper. Aug 14, Jessica rated it it was ok. I found this book to be slow and very boring just like the first book in the series the first prophet I thought since Bishop was in this book it might be better but I found the some issues more question about the charters. In the end it was told way the psychic are going missing. I knew that but who and why is still unanswered. Will not read the third book in this series. Also in A Bishop Files Novel.
