Elementary writing, but a simple read. It is a very interesting story and almost hard to believe. However, after reading online about this con-man after meeting this person in real life at 24 hour fitness I was in total shock. Great fast read, without all the fluff. One person found this helpful. Read the book in less than 2 days. Most bizarre true story I ever read! I go to the gym with this guy and it makes me sick - he has tried to con me - which he didn't cause I learned a long time ago if it doesn't makes sense - it's a lie.
First of all, I do not give out 5 stars easily. For an author to get a 5 star review from me there are a certain criteria that must be met. By this I mean that once I walk away from the book I can't wait to get back to it as it is consuming my thoughts. Mistress of the Con was just a winner from the very 1st page. It has been a long,long time since a book grabbed my attention and stayed with me like this one and thankfully this book came along because it was a fresh reminder of why I enjoy reading sooo much!!!
Not just for fans of true crime either, I found the book to be intriguing,exciting,true crime,non-fiction,I think it will appeal to many readers. I have been following this story for many years now and I have always had one question-Were these people all sharing a broken brain?!

If you look at the pictures of "Shannon" it's hard to believe these idiots actually thought she was a beautiful teenage supermodel! All those men who were sleeping with "her"?! You have got to be kidding me! But when you think about it, he really had the perfect setup for the guys. Who is going to want to admit they were falling in love with a black man dressed up as a young white girl?!

It appears he's still at it! I'd love for a movie to be made about this story! The cross dressing con man pretends to be a 21 year old white female supermodel but when in fact it's a 48 year old black man. A con this person committed for over two decades and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the victims. Hard to believe but the con worked very well. See all 6 reviews.
