Activists can be good or bad — it totally depends on what they are about.

They can also just be jerks and loud mouths who want all the money and power for themselves. They could be cowards and bullies — it depends on the person and what they want. Le Stylo, under the pretense of activism, does outlaw art which is actually promoting his artwork, resulting in personal gain in some ways, not monetary since he gives the money from the original art to charity although the charities should be investigated , but infamy and notoriety. Not sure who would, but definitely not Frank, or Joe for that matter. In the book it said he was trying to say he is for historical preservation, which is good, and speak out against too much tech.

I think Big Ben is really cool and I would love to visit it someday. Joe and Frank are not wimpy.

What does Le Stylo want in a situation such as: Does he want the police to go in there with a le plume stylo to free the hostages? Whose side is Le Stylo on when he puts his protest art on police stations? What does Le Stylo want the police to do? Of course, it would be better for all bad guys to play nice and not want to do things like murder, hurt, and terrorize people…. I would love for there not to be any evil anywhere.

See a Problem?

A number of things were funny in the mystery, for example: Exploring some of a castle while the Hardy brothers were at the party there was fun and seeing the cars, gliders, and such. And in real life you can get one for only , — such a deal! It was funny and you just have to think of them as two brothers not named Joe and Frank Hardy. Loved this that Frank said after being woke up by fireworks: A character in the book, the art patron, Cyril, kept being referred to as being like Bruce Wayne. Batman is cool because he goes after bad people. Spidey actually does something for real to help people.

They go into the sewer, and they know the Catacombs are around there then they go through a tunnel and they almost comedically start freaking out. All the studying up on France and stuff that Frank did before the trip would have clued him in.

The Gross Ghost Mystery

The one culprit was a thief, but Le Stylo was unethical driving up the price of his paintings. They the brothers and Le Stylo seemed somewhat unfair since several of the things they were going on about concerning the culprit was true about Le Stylo.

Simone could have just said non, merci beaucoup. A little confusing sometimes — in the quiet catacombs a switchblade opening was heard, but yet not the tossing of cardboard?

When I started reading Bound for Danger I found where the sneak peek had left off and started from there. It was for the sake of the mystery, I know, but it was distracting and incorrect. I pushed past that and hoped the rest was better and made up for that error. The things I liked in the book: I was hoping for like what to do about hazing or giving people ideas how to fight it. I like the brothers taking care of things, stopping the hazing, capturing and stopping bad people, and I love the brothers looking out for each other as always. Hazing is warped and stupid. I believe people who commit acts of hazing are punks and thugs.

King for a Day

Joking around, punching and wrestling is fine and much different than beating someone up. Hazing is cruel and mean-spirited and no one should participate or condone it. Something that is sadly accurate in the book is that not all teachers, etc.

Everyone needs to stand up against that. Bound for Danger overall can be summed up with a number of words.

They stopped short several times — would have pursued about the fake essay, not just taken it. That was so frustrating. I had hoped Bound for Danger would be a lot better than it was, but also it could have been worse. I love the poetic justice when the Hardys scared the jerks — that was cool. Like Joe, I have no idea what song they were singing at the end of the book. One of the victims of the hazing chose to become one of the evil mob doing the hazing.

That made him guilty, too, by partaking. Those involved by ordering it are also guilty. I enjoyed the good mystery, the thrilling action, and of course, the cool Hardy brothers, Frank and Joe. The thrills and chills of the Hardy brothers expertly and bravely navigating the rapids, along with rescues when necessary, can be found in a number of HB books.

Hardy Boys Adventure 12 has a good pace and the action is fun and enjoyable. When the group of campers were going to take off in the small plane, I was there with them. It was scary, but hilarious! There are some really exciting scenes in the adventure, particularly dealing with a rope bridge and the rapids below it. Gotta have danger and action for a good Hardy Boys, or Nancy Drew, mystery. I think that it mostly appeals to boys, but girls would also enjoy it.
