Ask God to show you the areas of your life that need changing. Pray for help and guidance in getting the sin out of your life. Reach out to someone for help in this time of transition and start spending time each morning with your bible. The acts of the flesh are obvious: I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. So what turned it all around for me? Honestly, it was seeing the faithfulness of my above-mentioned friend Matt who happens to have a blog you should subscribe to here. It was in one of my first discussions with him about how he wakes up at the crack of down without fail to spend time with God. Much of what he shared with me you can now read in this awesome first blog post here.

It was seeing finally this connection between knowing the faithful follower of Jesus I wanted to be and getting to know someone who was already living that way. I go to sleep excited to get up and spend time with Him and my coffee mug. Set your alarm clock, make a plan and get after it. It might feel awkward at first figuring out what to read or what to say, but all relationships take time and require that we show up. Instead, read it consistently and for the right reasons and you will finally see just how good life can get. Find that amazing place where you crave time with God every day.

It is that act of change via the gentle instruction of the Holy Spirit that really starts the relationship with God.

When He has the chance to change you and mold you to the person HE intended, you begin to see the synergy and the energy wrapped up in faith and belief. Sam, I thank God for you. I always love the quick bits of humor you fit into your posts. To the main content, well done. I was a bit concerned when I read the title. But having read a few of your blogs already, I knew there had to be a catch.

Well one thing came to mind. In conjunction with point three. I have found that journaling my Bible study has helped me immensely. I process and retain things much better that way. This also reminds me of any resolutions I may have made in a moment of inspiration but through time and trials I may have forgotten. I grew up with an amazing mother, who literally got up EVERY morning of her life at 5 am to read and journal. For a long time, I wondered how someone could do that and still get anything new about it but as the Holy Spirit has helped me to grow, I find now that every time I go back and read a familiar passage I do get something new from it.

Thank you for this post. I would add, find a friend or two to discuss what you are reading with. Armed with the latest findings from cognitive science, evolutionary biology, archeology, and religious history, van Schaik and Michel take us on a journey through the Book of Books, from the Garden of Eden all the way to Golgotha.

Favorite Bible Verses: Thomas Nelson: theranchhands.com: Books

The Book of Genesis, they reveal, marked the emergence of private property-one can no longer take the fruit off any tree, as one could before agriculture. The Torah as a whole is the product of a surprisingly logical, even scientific, approach to society's problems. The Bible may have a dark side, but in van Schaik and Michel's hands, it proves to be a hallmark of human indefatigability.

It shows that the Bible is more than just a pillar for religious belief: How to write a great review. The review must be at least 50 characters long. The title should be at least 4 characters long. It WILL fit easily in your purse. I found the entries comparable to the concordance in my bible, however, so I am ordering one with 40, entries just for lookup purposes.

You know how it is when you're in bible study and a verse comes to mind, but your bible's concordance won't get you there. I'm not looking for definitions I can do that when I get home , just the ability to find the right verse. I will give this to someone at my church whose bible does not have a concordance, as a concordance is a must.

Read Scripture: Joshua

The book is exactly what is says it is, and will be useful to someone without one. I bought 3 of these little guides--the dictionary, the concordance and the bible handguide as lightweight travel options to take to bible study. I really didn't expect them to be as good as full-sized guide books. These 3 books have brought much insight to my whole group, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to have bible accompaniments.

This concordance has limited entries around , but, for me to use at our prayer meeting, it is adequate. I tried one of those electronic bibles with the word search, but it was too time consuming.
