Monica's Review Life of a cowboy back in was complicated especially when left alone with a beautiful young woman that is there to be a nanny to his baby after becoming widowed. Jake Stone is a strong willed rancher whom has just lost his wife and has a baby to take care of but he needs help. He is encountered with a beautiful young woman that has come to help him sent by his aunt instead of her going to go help him.

Temptation is something that Jake is dealing with on a daily basis since enc Monica's Review Life of a cowboy back in was complicated especially when left alone with a beautiful young woman that is there to be a nanny to his baby after becoming widowed. Temptation is something that Jake is dealing with on a daily basis since encountering Melinda. Melinda seems to change the tables on Jake and makes it a point to seduce him but does she really know what she wants. After their first encounter in his bedroom it is only a matter of time before something romantic happens between them and can Jake really give into love after losing his wife.

After his first obstacle out of the way a new one is present but not even this person is able to stand in his way of gaining what he wants.

The characters in this book were made for each other and there are parts that will make you laugh and others that will melt your heart. Enjoy this sweet story, sit back and enjoy the Wild West and true romance. You gotta love a cowboy. They have a knack of complicating life more than it already is. Jake Stone needs someone to care for his baby girl since the passing of his wife.

But life on a ranch in Colorado is not easy. Out of desperation Jake write to an elderly Aunt for her help. Knowing her nephew the way she does, Jakes aunt sends Melinda; young, energetic, motherly and most importantly very beautiful. Just what he needs, if he can keep his biological urges under control.

Jake is struggling You gotta love a cowboy. Jake is struggling along just fine until Melinda turns to tables on him. As Jake and Melinda forge their way through their predicament, life throws them curves at every turn, including an a unexpected additional admirer and a beautiful, wealthy neighbor and her father, who would do anything to gain Jake and his money for his daughter and his own agenda. Heart of Stone is an excellent addition to the historical western genre. It contains all the elements of what is required: The private moments between the main characters are stressful, funny and charming especially when our hero tries to maintain his dignity in the face of his own shortcomings.

The story flows freely and you wait to see the outcome of their stumbling with their newfound hearts desires.

I was afraid Melinda was going to be a delicate thing who could not handle a man like Jake, but, goodness gracious, was she able to hold her own. This couple will stick in my mind for a long time. There were a couple of times when a scene would end a bit too abruptly, but, all in all, the story flowed very well from one scene to the next.
