She is a fun, spunky and silly kitty who loves climbing cat trees, chasing laser pointers and hunting squirrel toys. She has also been known to participate in games of fetch when she feels up to it! Carlie is a shy little girl but quite friendly and affectionate once she gets to know people. She had a hard time adjusting to life in the sanctuary at first but is now much more confident and enjoying the company of staff, volunteer and guests.

She has even started to tolerate her kitty roommates! We asked Carlie what she is most thankful for this year and belly rubs and cozy heated cat beds are at the top of her list! Deets has allergies which require a special diet and daily medication. He likes to pretend to be a tough guy but is really just a big chicken. Part of the problem might also be that Deets thinks he already found the purrfect family: He has bonded with one employee in particular and insists on being held and cuddled by her constantly.

She has had to master the art of one-handed typing since he is often on her shoulder, purring away. Unfortunately, she is also pretty unhappy! Fluffy six year-old Janis Vaughan was adopted years ago from Purrfect Pals but recently found her way back to us after being abandoned by her previous owners. She is upset to have lost her home and is not thrilled to be surrounded by strangers, both feline and human.

Stressed cats like Janis often show signs of aggression and can be swatty and grumbly. Unfortunately, these cats are often overlooked by potential adopters because they may be perceived as aloof, shy, unfriendly, ill-tempered, feisty or even mean. She is now learning how to redirect her stress and frustration. She no longer attacks our staff on site and has even been seen climbing into the laps of our volunteers.

Now that she is more comfortable, Janis sure loves to play! She adores wand toys and anything she can chase. We know with more time Janis will learn to trust people again. Until that time comes, she will always have a home here at Purrfect Pals! Lil Lola came to Purrfect Pals after being found under a house, hungry and very skinny, by some kind people who took her to a local vet clinic to get her checked out. This sweet older girl has several chronic medical conditions including an auto-immune disease, arthritis and a bit of dementia.

To help manage her pain, she goes for monthly acupuncture treatments which are really helping! Lola is now toothless, but that does not stop her from enjoying her food. She refuses to eat anything other than fishy canned food but has our staff well trained! Lola is very vocal when she wants attention or second breakfast.

Lolita came to Purrfect Pals after being rescued from a large colony of cats near our sanctuary. Lolita is one of the most playful and energetic kitties who live in our Leuki Land Sanctuary! This sweet blue-eyed girl loves her toys and her favorite activities are batting around balls and carrying felt mice in her mouth like she is hunting. Despite the medical condition which could shorten her lifespan, we believe Lolita deserves to have the pleasure of living in a real home with her very own people to love and care for her.

Quizard and her siblings, Quark and Qubert, came to Purrfect Pals as kittens after testing positive for Feline Leukemia. At one time she was the youngest kitty in our Leukemia Land Sanctuary but now she is one of the oldest, mentoring the next generation of kitties. She is quite the athlete and loves to run on the cat wheel in Leuki Land. She also enjoys spending the summer months out in the large outdoor enclosure, chasing bugs and lounging in the sun. Bring on the belly rubs, she says! We will post all of our adoptions so that you can see the impact you are having on their lives every day.

Our goal is to adopt out over cats in our first year. If you are thinking about volunteering with them or donating, please visit www. Group reservations are available for exclusive use of the cat room but must be made directly through our Purrty planners. If you have more than 8 people that you are with, we ask you to reserve a private cat room visit so that everyone can have a great experience in the cat room.

Short answer is YES, we would highly recommend it because many times we are booked full, especially if you have a group. All visitors must register online along with signing a release form. It also covers extra supplies that KHS cannot provide—kitty wipes, extra litter, food, treats, baking soda, first aid animal needs, eye drops, OTC meds, etc. And finally, it helps us to pay our hard-working staff who care for our kitties and serve our guests Kitty care is really expensive, so your money really helps us provide them with a comfy, beautiful place to stay.

We will have a busy calendar of events every month following the initial launch of the cafe and will keep you posted. Our unique loft-style wine gathering place allows you see the cats from almost anywhere while you enjoy beverages, work on your computer, or meet up with friends.
