This book is really dark, but I love dark and sinister reads. Literally I cannot wait until I start writing Adult books!

View all 3 comments. What a disappointment this book was! First I want to say I love dark erotica romance, but this book has zero erotica and zero romance. Yes it has darkness, but that stands for cruelty. There's so much wrong with this story Probably the writer wanted to push the limits and dare The hero is a repulsive monster who has a stone in the place of heart, a real psycho The heroine is a complete idiot, a spoiled rich girl, wh What a disappointment this book was!

The heroine is a complete idiot, a spoiled rich girl, who's making a name worldwide as a stylist, but like all the rich can't enjoy her life and fortune, because she has a stupid drama: She can't find a man to bang her Add to this that she thinks of herself as unattractive. She has this virtual friend with whom she chats but doesn't know anything about him. And she's developing a crush on him and becoming obsessed with him But remember that she does not even now if this person in real life is a man or a woman, an old man or a teen and she keeps talking dirt and helping him jerk off This is a story of abuse, humiliation and rape I expected a change in the hero's behavior And not because possessiveness or jealously but because he can't wait to be the first to torment this poor girl Wait did I say poor girl???

There was a problem providing the content you requested

Nothing is poor about her, she's as disgusting as them What woman that is being abused gets horny and wants to please them??? The men who are going to kill her, abuse her some more I wanted to throw up the whole time during that scene I loved Tears of Tess so much for me was a 6 stars read, but it was a connection there between heroine and hero the whole time View all 33 comments. Aug 12, Lady Vigilante Feifei rated it really liked it Shelves: I never know what she has up her sleeve.

At least, not until now. This first book in the Indebted series is not only dark and deliciously sinful, but also chilling to the bone to read. I have to emphasize that this is NOT a romance, at least not yet. This is dark erotica with an eerie twist. The Weavers owe the Hawks and so it was declared that the first-born daughter of the Weavers would be offered to the Hawks, generation after generation until the debt has been paid.

Fast forward to present day, where we find the heroine Nila Weaver in the same position as her predecessors. A young and rising star in designing, Nila has the world at her fingertips — a loving father, a fiercely protective brother, and immense wealth at her disposal. A true anti-hero to the core, Jethro Hawk is cold and calculating.

Manipulative and cunning, Jethro wields financial and political power over the Weaver family, thus rendering Nila helpless in his clutches. Through blackmail, he coerces her to go with him to his home as part of the ancient debt inheritance agreement. It is easy to sympathize for the sheltered and innocent Nila. Even with her fate unknown, she remains strong and resilient. Jethro is no Q — there are no boundaries with this man. Perhaps he has a role in the next book? I was a little confused as to what was happening but once Jethro entered the scene, everything cleared up.

As a reader who craves exhilaration and thrill, the ending was pretty kickass! Plus, I can be understanding of cliffhangers as long as they add to the story and not just serve as shock value or a marketing ploy and IMO, this kind of ending was inevitable based on the direction of the story.

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Holy mother of WOW. I have recently sworn off serials after one too many cliffys left me a ragey mess, but it's Pepper Winters and there's no way I was going to pass this one by and DAMN am I glad I didn't. You know the thing that I've come to truly love about this author?

  1. For the Term of His Natural Life.

  4. The Interior Landscape: Classical Tamil Love Poems.

The unpredictability of her writing. What I mean is, no one character is alike. If I didn't know I was 5 The world was a dangerous place, but I was worse Stars You live in a fairytale, princess, and I'm about to destroy it. Jethro Hawk is no Fox and he's no Q. This is the ultimate anti-hero. He's cold, he's brutal, and there is no question after finishing this mind fuck of a book that I am truly and utterly hooked.

Will I be waiting until all the books release to read the rest? I don't even care about the cliffys. This had to be one of the best anti-heroes I've read to date. If you think that Jethro is cold and ruthless until he meets Nila and all of a sudden his uncontrollable lust for her makes him question everything he does to her There was no compassion in his light-brown eyes. No sympathy or even guilt. How did he have the power to be so close to me- to grow hard wanting me- and know all along my fate?

Only a special person could do that. A person who wasn't born of this world but brimstone and fire. I spent the entire book waiting for a chink in his armor Not in this book anyway. Don't go into this expecting a romance. But you'll find no romance here, not yet. That will be the biggest question you have and keep you turning the pages with bated breath Nila is a famous designer that's been sheltered her whole life growing up in a loving and affluent family. But all that changes the day a mysterious man with golden eyes comes for her. Nila may be sheltered and inexperienced, but this is a heroine that has a hidden core of strength that only grows stronger and more pronounced as the story progresses.

Although this is a serial, it's a book length of pages. And you know what? Not a sentence was wasted. The character development was phenomenal. Jethro Hawke is a hero you will love to hate. He equal parts terrified me and turned me on, which is no small feat to accomplish. Coldness etched his gaze. Aloofness whispered from his posture.

Calculation radiated from his every pore. I'd never been so intimidated or so intimately challenged. Filled with enough twists and turns this book will leave you questioning everything, never knowing up from down and right from wrong. Just as I thought I knew where the story was headed, I'd be thrown for another loop. Pepper Winters is truly an evil genius. Even the damn cliffy was fitting. I couldn't imagine this book ending a different way. It was perfect even if it did leave me an anxious mess for the next one. Now to wait weeks for the next one just may kill me. I would enjoy ruining Nila, because I liked breaking things.

But not in a gruesome barbaric way. I liked to break them smoothly, gently, ruthlessly. I liked to think I transformed creatures from their present to their potential. View all 70 comments.

Heavily indebted poor countries (HIPC)

Aug 11, Amy Foxy Blogs rated it it was amazing Shelves: I'm anticipating the next installment of "Indebted series. Winters is a master of this genre. Hopelessness is a key element of dark romances and Debt Inheritance delivers that feeling of desperation very well. One mistake six hundred years ago means Nila must willingly be the one to repay this debt for her family. Jethro receives Nila as an inheritance present. She is his to do with what he wants until the debt is paid off. Mystery, intrigue and curiosity captures the reader and holds them prisoner to the pages.

Manipulation and control command the reader to be alert and watch for clues to this conundrum that is woven throughout Debt Inheritance. I loved the cliffhanger because it left me wanting MORE. I've become immune to cliffhangers for the most part because of all the books in that left the reader hanging for a year at a time. I use to go nuts waiting for the next book to come out in a series but now, if a cliffhanger is done well, I find it fun waiting not for a year between installments.

It's like waiting for Christmas morning with all your friends for that book to hit your kindle. Don't let the fact that this is a cliffhanger stop you from reading this book. You won't regret it. I can't promise no cliffhangers, but I can promise that when the series starts they will come often and be small book length not short episodes.

The time is nigh to pay your debts. The debt - the maid costume - rich mc gang- the Weaver Wailer - the whole kit and caboodle was basically laughable. The only thing halfway interesting is who is Kite? View all 74 comments. Mar 18, Clumsy Storyteller rated it it was amazing Shelves: I preyed on her. I owned her life and had the piece of paper to prove it. View all 24 comments. Yes, this is absolutely Vintage Pepper Winters — a darkly fascinating and compelling read that will have you hurtling through the pages and howling for more at the end. It absolutely consumed me and I found it nigh on impossible to put down.

Even after the first chapter I had chills and goosebumps and I knew I was in for a dark ride. The hallmark of good dark erotica is to scare and shock you while turning you on, all at the same time and Debt Inheritance definitely does that with a couple of strong standout scenes that will appal you and yet completely entrance you. Our poor abused heroine is Nila Weaver, very much loved daughter and twin sister, brought up in the heart of an overprotective father and possessive twin brother, very much cocooned at the centre of her family with really only one sexual experience to talk of.

Turns out that all that freedom was nothing but an illusion for Nila.

She was always indebted, always promised into a life of servitude long before she was born and never destined to pursue her glittering dreams at liberty. Jethro comes to call in that debt and whisks her away from the glittering catwalk show in Milan to his secluded and isolated mansion in the heart of England where she will begin to pay off that debt.

Jethro was truly freaking terrifying. I kept looking for the spark of humanity, a little glimmer of the hero about him but there is none. Oh, Nila — where is your Q? Who will rescue you from this awful fate? I see no one here that can help her — Nila will have to save herself, if she is to be saved. I loved the way she tried to keep her integrity intact all the while knowing that she must submit to their disgusting demands.

Poor Nila — she has so much to endure through no fault of her own, paying off a centuries old debt, holding the fate of those she loves in her hands, fearing for their lives as well as her own. Are you listening Pepper?? This is a lightning storm of high quality dark erotica, both frightening and fascinating. This is Pepper Winters at her finest. View all 19 comments. But I freaking loved it!!! I have no patience for sweet. And hell it felt good. My destiny was already written. My story began the night he came for me. View all 10 comments. The first half of the book was hard getting into.

Jethro going on and on and on! Second half was much better and it leads nicely into book 2. I found Jethro quite heartless, although I dont think his character was suppose to be likeable. Maybe Ive become immune to dark books but this one failed to shock me. But it was a page turner. Also I dont think I will forget this cliffy anytime soon. Factsheet - Debt Relief Under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative

I really don't know how much I like Jethro I like him for one moment and then I don't. That is one hot and cold hero and there are many many unanswered questions. I am hoping that they all connect in next book. What is it about A girl paying her debts not hers directly but her generations. Everything is pretty much mysterious. STEAM It was mild but you can feel the heat I am really looking forward for the next book as there are so many parts that simply doesn't make sense at all. If you are looking forward for an adventure, try this. But if you are not a fan of cliffhangers, then sometimes for you to consider.

View all 31 comments. Was it Nila's inner compliance to follow Jethro? Jethro's calm demeanor in spite of his prey's "bad" attitude? The Hawk's men way to remain cryptic while expecting her to understand it all? Her blind acceptance of the rules? Or is it just me, that find Dark erotica to be laughable sometimes? I don't know for sure, but I'm still very curious to see where Pepper Winters wants to go with this. She did such a brilliant job with Jethro's character, I found myself drawn to him against my will. Will I read the next in this series? Just to witness the shattering of the cold man?

I breathed hard, even now struggling to find my beloved coldness. I needed an icy shower.

I keep wanting to yell at her to just obey and take the easy road. She is a fighter though, and it is somewhat nice to see her finding her strength through this adversity she is faced with. I have to say that I am intrigued with the brothers too, I just know there is way more This was an ok read for me. I have to say that I am intrigued with the brothers too, I just know there is way more to this story that has been told, so again; I think as the books continue the more I think I will be into everything that is going on!!!

In , a comprehensive review of the Initiative allowed the Fund to provide faster, deeper, and broader debt relief and strengthened the links between debt relief, poverty reduction, and social policies. Countries must meet certain criteria, commit to poverty reduction through policy changes, and demonstrate a good track record over time. The Fund and Bank provide interim debt relief in the initial stage and, when a country meets its commitments, full debt relief is provided.

To be considered for HIPC Initiative assistance, a country must fulfill the following four conditions:. Once a country has met or made sufficient progress in meeting these four criteria, the Executive Boards of the IMF and World Bank formally decide on its eligibility for debt relief, and the international community commits to reducing debt to a level that is considered sustainable. Once a country reaches its decision point, it may immediately begin receiving interim relief on its debt service falling due.

In order to receive full and irrevocable reduction in debt available under the HIPC Initiative, a country must. Once a country has met these criteria, it can reach its completion point, which allows it to receive the full debt relief committed at the decision point. Countries receiving debt relief. Of the 39 countries eligible or potentially eligible for HIPC Initiative assistance, 36 are receiving full debt relief from the IMF and other creditors after reaching their completion points.

Three countries, which have been identified as potentially eligible for HIPC Initiative assistance, have not yet reached their decision points.
