Derby Tales Round the Campfire

Entering the dilapidated crypt, Otomer witnessed a woman every bit as tall as Kashya standing tall, but there any resemblance ended. That and she was surrounded by a crowd of zombies and skeletons. Otomer ran into the crowd, flailing away in all directions, hitting them but getting hit too, until finally he was the only one left.

A flaming arrow to his rump signalled that he had not. Otomer chased this maniacal demon about the graveyard for a long time; finally trapping her in a corner and beating her until his sword broke in her skull. Damn, now he needed a new sword. She looked Otomer in the eye defiantly as Kashya laid a protective hand on her shoulder. Otomer leaded over the edge of his cot and studied her face as she slept. Her cheekbones were pronounced, her eyes large, and her lips full, 'Beautiful', Otomer thought.

She only appeared short while standing next to Kashya. The nightmarish figure screamed at him that he was not worthy, as Otomer trembled in front of him. They come every night. Otomer stared at her hand for a moment before looking her in the face, at her eyes full of concern. They were a deep violet, Otomer realised for the first time.

Unfortunately, nobody told this to the writers of Campfire Stories. The three tales on offer are predictable, limp and - at times - lacking in logic.
