Again, no issue for someone seasoned, but a newbie will have trouble. That knocked off another star. Lastly, I didnt doc for this issue, because it would have rated this book as "Did Not Like" which is false, I liked the book. But the ebook "Kindle Edition" has a limiting factor of copy and paste.

You can only copy and paste so much before you cannot copy anymore. While this makes sense in a copyrighted literature book, it makes absolutely no sense in a technical code book. Having to write out all the examples really slows down knowledge transfer. That is the whole reason someone buys a technical manual, knowledge transfer. While the author does supply a website to download some code, not all of it is available through the various stages of the chapter sequences.
A shame really, because you can learn so much faster when you dont need to type everything out. If you are new, and I mean new to C and ASP this will suit you fine, but if you are a seasoned developer looking to boost skill in a new language this book will frustrate you a bit. I am a beginner and found this book extremely helpful but not decisively elementary. A good place to start and I am convinced that an intermediate web programmer can take a big advantage.
If you are looking to create a production line of web pages bordering on good quality then this book is for you. I have searched diligently for an excellent book on the subject. If you are searching for a book that helps you build quality, interactive, web pages you should take a look at Pro ASP. Adam Freeman's book isn't for raw beginners. If you can understand Microsoft Visual Studio, then this book is the better way to go. Like night and day for quality webpages.

I gave this book a three because it is well written and serves a client base looking to use WebMatrix. WebMatrix is an excellent compiler, but just doesn't have enough control for my commercial purposes. Really love this book bc the author explains so well the code in such an understandable way and simple. I purchased this book 2 months ago. This book sets out web development in a fairly simple way It was quite instructive but not quite what I was looking for. The book is good for experienced Web Matrix Programs, not for new starters. Basically, This is, I think, a great reference book for web designers and fans.
The great things for the book is you can get a clear concept, and more details how to use these key concepts in your work.

Editorial Reviews
Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon. I normally dont write reviews but I feel this book needs it due to the technical content. First off, its a good read for a beginner but there are several flaws that I needed to doc 2 stars for. It doesnt take into consideration Webmatrix 3. Second and more troublesome, some of the code examples actually have syntax flaws in them requiring me to search for the solution elsewhere. Again, no issue for someone seasoned, but a newbie will have trouble.
