Baby the Leopard is one of the reasons this Howard Hawks classic regularly ranks higher than other screwball comedies like the leopard-less My Man Godfrey. The film actually has not one but two leopards, including an escaped circus cat that Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn mistake for their tame Baby both played by a leopard named Nissa. Grant was reportedly terrified of the big cat and used a stand-in for many of his scenes with Baby.

And he grew up to be a lion his father Mufasa would be proud of, finally facing his fears and his guilt to confront his evil uncle Scar. So Eve will forever be one of my favorite manga characters. Oct 06, Rachel Sfogs rated it it was amazing Shelves: Eve is just awesome in battle! And the Mermaid transformation was beautiful and effective! May 27, Kyle rated it liked it. This volume sets up, and begins to transition towards the endgame - unfortunately, it drops a lot of interesting nuance by simply having the villains tossed aside by our set of protagonists.
The interesting dynamic set up in the earlier volumes by warring factions seems to be over, leaving us imwith fun, but predictable battles to begin the rounding out if the series. May 23, Nidah SleepDreamWrite rated it liked it. Aug 02, Ronyell rated it it was amazing Shelves: While Train fights Maro and River fights Preta, whose power is to cause objects to melt whenever he touches them, Eve ends up confronting Leon, the young boy who can whip up powerful wind storms. Kentaro Yabuki has done a brilliant job with this volume as while part of the story focuses on Train and River defeating some of the members of the Apostles of the Stars, the real focus in this volume was on Eve fighting Leon.
I loved the way that Eve manages to show the readers that she is capable of handling herself in this situation as it shows a great growth in her character as she learns how to handle problems by herself without the help of Train or Sven.

I also loved the fact that we finally get to see Train, Sven and Eve confront the Apostles of the Stars since in the previous volumes, we have seen Train, Sven and Eve talk about the Apostles of the Stars, but we never seen them interact with them before and it was great seeing the tension being built up between the Apostles of the Stars and Train, Eve and Sven as they fight each other to decide the fate of Creed.
For anyone who does not like reading much violence in manga, this volume does have a couple of violent scenes where the characters are constantly fighting each other and they would get hurt severely. The action scenes are well-choreographed, the art is good, and the plot is easy to follow and mostly believable.
When Eve takes on Leon, she's also taking on his very gendered view of her -- view spoiler [ and I love that she defeats both him and the gender stereotype he forces on her. Unfortunately, Sven brings those stereoty Train left underground organization Chronos to live his life on his own terms - two years later, he's working with his partner Sven as a sweeper.

Personally I think Sven's character would be stronger without all of those "I'm a gentleman" comments, but his relationship with Eve is great. Also not a huge fan of this cover art - it borders on sexualizing Eve, who's still But great action scenes! Dec 20, Bas rated it it was amazing Shelves: This volume totally caught me by surprise.
There's a small fight for Train that's pretty cool, and a couple of extra guests arrive to join the party, but the real star of this volume is Eve who finally gets a chance to show the audience what she's made of! Her fight against Leon is one of the best I've ever read in any shonen-manga. On par with the showdown in volumes of Flame of Recca.
