This book took a turn for the weird. I don't think weird is even the right word to describe this book. Like I said it's different from my normal read. I don't regret reading this book, it took me longer than usual but I finished it and the end is WOW!!!! I didn't expect it. Good read, if you like a good find bogling read, this is the one for you.
This book has its own distinct magic. I have just finished reading it today and already ordered another book by this author. I love how magical realism intertwines with amazingly deep psychological and philosophical observations and very subtle sense of humor. There is everything in this book from death, love, dreams, sex Deeply moving and so much fun!

The element use besides love are death and slavery. Love been the most important of them all and the one the involves the main characters in a world of their own. Slavery represents the authors point of view towards slavery and his feeling toward the many atrocities that slaves endured during those times.
The main genre of the novel is romance. A romance that endures many hardships. The language used by Mr. Isaacs is one of full of descriptions and metaphors and simile. There are so many it seems for a moment like if reality didn't exist and need no to be mention. The use of the different elements of language give Mr. Isaacs work a very unique characteristic. A truly piece of art that show me a different point of view that I can use for my own writing specially since I write a lot about love and romance.
