So it was slightly disappointing that the two main characters don't even meet until over pages into the book, and don't have sex until after Now, I know, that might sound a little shallow, but the plot is such a slow burn here that, for me, it was an issue.

Part of the problem, really, was that the book takes so long to set up what happened to Aidan and why he's as angry as he is, what he lost, etc. And that was fine, if not terribly compelling. It was slightly obvious to see that the author was doing a fair bit of world building, pushing forward the larger story of the faery realms and the characters that recur from book to book.

Having not read the first book, I didn't feel lost, but I wasn't as invested in those characters, and I wanted more of the focus to be on Aidan and Brooke. I liked their characters and enjoyed their interactions. The story definitely suffered for me because it took so long for them to meet. It condensed their arcs and made me impatient as I read. It didn't help matters that the main obstacle of the novel was dealt with in about five pages. The story was quite well put together, the pieces fitting together nicely.

The evil fae was all set to cause some trouble, and given the pacing of the story it was a shock to reach the last thirty pages or so and just have everything end. The book might have been headed for resolution, but there was such an abruptness about it, like the author cut the story short by a hundred more pages. Which is all right, I guess, but was a let down for me. Given how much Aidan talked about his plan, and how everyone was worried about it, to have that not play a part at all in the ending was unfortunate.

There were good parts, obviously. The writing was solid and the characters fun. The sexy parts were indeed sexy, though without an awful lot of variation. Still, it was all fun and I enjoyed reading most of it. I just wish it could have handled the ending a bit better, because that spoiled things for me. Though it was good enough for the most part, I'm left giving it just two stars out of five. Nov 21, Nicole Laverdure rated it it was amazing. The power of magic! Dani Harper has done it again!

I really enjoyed reading her fantastic story; it was so much fun to read! I loved her two main characters Aidan and Brooke, also her secondary personage Lurien. When I read the prologue, I immediately knew that I would love to follow their journey set in between The power of magic!

When I read the prologue, I immediately knew that I would love to follow their journey set in between two worlds. The tale starts, in AD Wales, as Aidan, is being cursed by a cold hearted faery princess Celynnen, and now decides he only wants revenge on the Queen of the Realm. He will have to live as a Grim, a very large black hound. Meanwhile, Brooke, a modern 21st century witch, owns a magic shop, where she loves to play with magic spells, but one goes wrong!

Aidan suddenly appears in front of her! Lots of ups and downs in their relationship. Will their love survive? Will their magic powers shine forever? Will Brooke be able to help Aidan with her magic? Will the balance in the Faery realm be restored? What will happen to the evil Queen? You need to read the book if you want to know the rest. We briefly meet again her previous characters Rhys and Morgan, a friend of Brooke!

Each story is about a Grim, a cursed sexy and handsome man, meeting a modern day woman. This you have to read, if you love fantastic romance with a touch of magic and intrigue. I strongly recommend this book! I absolutely loved this book, would have finished it sooner if I had the reading time, I really didn't want to put it down, in fact when it was downloaded to my kindle first thing on the release day I meant to only read for half an hour cause it was too early to get up but when I checked my clock next 2 hours had passed! That's how much it sucks you in, you don't even notice the time!

The series is definitely building to an event I think and I imagine any other Grims that escape service may just find themselves close to Aidan and Rhys' homes and meeting with them. Perhaps by the Queens design. I wouldn't be surprised to find she influenced their escapes and where they ended up. I think the escaped Grims are going play an important part in restoring balance to the Faery realm and I can't wait to see how they do and who gains freedom next!

I also found myself wondering if all Grims are male or if females were turned into Grims too? Guess we may find out as the series progresses and I'm looking forward to the next book! I hope Lurien, Lord of the Wild Hunt, will make some more appearances, I'd like to see the Queen reappear too, she was mentioned in this book but we didn't see her as we did in the previous book. Jul 02, Viz rated it liked it. Went through Audio book but did not excite me to read rest of the series. Jan 18, Sharon rated it really liked it.

I am a sucker for anything fae. Well, more like anything fae and male. This is book two in the Grim Series. Just like in, Storm Warrior book 1 , Harper created a unique twist on the Black Dog mythos and the ancient Welsh Tylwyth Teg fae and wove it into a tale set in our modern world. The men break free of their curse, but find I am a sucker for anything fae. Harper has created touching stories about love and loyalty with an added bonus of humor.

What do you think happens when you take a Welsh man born or years ago and drop him into the life of a modern woman?

Storm Bound is about Aidan ap Llanfor. He was taken by the fae princess Celynnen on his wedding day because she wanted a toy. He finds an unlikely friend in the Lord of the Wild Hunt, Lurien. I have to admit Lurien is my favorite character and he plays a prominent role in this story. He has watched The Nine Realms Kingdom fall into chaos after the king was murdered. The queen is barley holding on to power and the unbalance in the fae world is leaking into ours. He has an agenda and providing Aiden with a chance to escape will further his own plans. Brooke is a witch with real powers based in earth magic.

She finally has her own shop where she creates spells to help and heal people. Lately she has been getting a lot of magical signs like the exact same tarot card reading nine times in a row. When a spell goes wrong, or maybe right, she brings Aidan into her life. He is full of vengeance for the one who took his life away years ago and still clinging to a memory of an old love.

The main story of the book is the romance between Aidan and Brooke, but the subplot that runs through the series about the Tylwyth Teg and what is happening in their kingdom is what appeals to me the most. Harper has done a lot of research in Welsh mythology and earth magic. Sometimes the amount of information included overshadows the story in places. I liked book one a little better, but having Lurien with his flowing black hair and black leathers riding the fae horse Bayard in the Wild Hunt just makes my heart go pitter patter.

The two ex Grims meet. Makes me think Haper has some other hidden subplot cooking. Mar 21, April rated it it was amazing Shelves: I have such big love for this book and can not wait to see the series progress!!! This is such a wonderful blend of modern urban fantasy and Celtic myth!

These are not sweet fairy stories, they are based on the traditional tales where the fae are beautiful but cruel. From my youth I recall being fascinated with the Tylwyth Teg, Sidhe and all the the dark Welsh myths. This is a terrific adult revisit of those myths that held me enthralled. I really liked Brooke from the start, she is so loving and I have such big love for this book and can not wait to see the series progress!!!

I really liked Brooke from the start, she is so loving and aware of herself. When she meets smexy Aiden, sparks fly, well that and a very well placed punch! I love their dynamic and really felt them connect. The romance is quick but the feeling ring true. Sometimes your heart just knows before the head has a chance to catch up. The smexy stuff is delicious!! Aiden is definitely the Alpha kind of guy I love. He is dominant in all the right ways!! The bedroom door is open and the smexiness happens a couple times!!

Loads of steam detail, but not quite as far as a full erotic romance. I am all for the mainstream hotness this book dishes out! The story this time is very involved, this progress at a steady pace and then speed up in the end. The twist wasn't much of a surprise, but no less enjoyable. Great pacing in the story, it really flowed as the details were revealed. The narration bounces between the POV of the two leads, but there is a bonus when we see POV of some supporting characters.

It makes for a more rounded story and you really get insights into all, especially the villains of the tale. You really get to understand the fae better, I may now have a little crush on the Lord of the Hunt, is it too much to hope he will get a HEA? I love the way this book connects with the other, I did worry at first there would be no connection. It takes time and you will have to be patient, but when it reveals itself, it is wonderful!

I loved the first meeting of Aiden and Rhys, classic! I listened to the audiobook narrated by Justine Eyre, who is fabulous!! She has a delicious way with the smexy Welsh accents, never could resist a brogue! I loved her energy in the read, she had a real feel for the story and just when speed things up to match the action. I am all about finding more of her reads!! She had quite the task with several male voices and the accents. Terrific match for this series! Overall, I am in love! I am totally hooked and can not wait for the next book.

Kraven's Last Hunt - Wikipedia

The concept and myth carry this romance over to a real winner in my book! Harper certainly has a way of crafting engaging characters into a dynamic story. I am totally hooks. The only negative her is I have to wait until for the next book!!! Blacksmith Aidan is kidnapped on his wedding day, and when he refuses to become the pairing of his cruel Far capture she turns him into a Grim - a supernatural hound that is the harbinger of death.

For centuries he suffer his enslavement until at last his escape attempt aligns with modern day witch Brooke's spell to summon a canine guardian and suddenly he's human again and ready to pursue his vow of revenge against his former mistress - despite the irresistible draw to his witch savior. I liked Blacksmith Aidan is kidnapped on his wedding day, and when he refuses to become the pairing of his cruel Far capture she turns him into a Grim - a supernatural hound that is the harbinger of death.

I liked the second Grim book even more than the first. The beginning - in which we are privy to the agony caused by the capricious Far princess as she steals both Aidans future and his past - really grabbed me. I loved the strength of his spirit which is never broken over the interminable years of his servitude. I loved equally strong Brooke - in both magic and will - and I thought that the people in her life were great, I also really liked the subplot with the Lord of the Hunt and hope he gets more screen time in future books.

Plus I thought the cameo of the past pair was woven in effectively.

Minecraft - TRAYAURUS GOES TO PRISON - Custom Mod Adventure

If I had a nit with the story, it is that there is so much that is great that is setup in the main conflicts in the story- that I wish the resolution hadn't been quite so quick and easy-utb that didn't lessen my enjoyment of the story. So Storm Bound ended up being my favorite of Harper's stories so far and I am looking forward to more. Nov 21, Kelly at rated it really liked it Shelves: Review will be posted at www. I had the pleasure reading this book and also getting to listen to on audio.

I just could not pass up the chance to have Justine Eyre read to me. I really enjoyed all the magic and Welsh mythology in the series. But there were parts that were a little slow for me. I felt that the book started off really good then it slowed down a bit. Right up until Brooke meets Aidan. All in all this was a good book and I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series. I wonder who it could be? Maybe a certain Lord of the Hunt? This review is my own opinion and not a paid review. Feb 03, Leah rated it really liked it Shelves: Black Mountains, Wales - Aiden was taken on his wedding day by Celynnan who is a Fey Princess.
