This title would be good for a school library to own, as not each chapter in the book would apply to every teacher. But all in all, it's deep reading but good information. Feb 07, Suzanne Lilly rated it it was amazing Shelves: To best use this book, you'll need a good understanding of the RtI model in schools. The book is a series of articles, all about how to successfully use RtI to ensure the needs of gifted students are addressed.

There are several different models for approaching this issue. Each model has a chapter devoted to explaining it, examining the research behind it, and offering ideas for implementation. One thing I appreciated is the authors often cited online resources for the reader to examine later. Th To best use this book, you'll need a good understanding of the RtI model in schools. This is by no means a comprehensive examination of the status of gifted students in our schools, but it's a step toward understanding how to give them a fair and equitable education tailored to their needs.

Implementing RTI with Gifted Students: Service Models, Trends, and Issues

I am involved in the GATE program at my school district, and requested this book for that reason. Jan 09, Emily Heinlen Davis rated it it was amazing.

This book is well-organized, well researched and easy to read and understand. I think it would be an excellent guide for any organization or individual looking to implement RTI with gifted students. The only thing I didn't like about the book was a format issue where words occasionally broke across lines.
