Holmes and Watson visit the scene of the death and discover that a fiendish murder has been committed. Holmes returns angry and disturbed after a visit to a mortuary where Lestrade shows him the body of a young woman who has taken her own life and that of her unborn child, So begins a tale that highlights the terrible exploitation of vulnerable women through quack medicine and blackmail. Whilst Holmes has maintained the 'Rule of Law', Watson is in turmoil, unsure if they have caused further harm.

Holmes and Watson become involved in the very early days of flying when guests of the wife of a French flyer fall ill at a society tea party. A fearful crash landing, an injured pilot and a sketchbook full of secrets gives Holmes the ideal opportunity to investigate further. Watson is reminded of his Army days in India and Holmes has his suspicions but he must act quickly to prevent a scandal. Holmes uses the wonders of Edwardian medicine to help him defuse a second bomb which he suspects to be the work of Julia Moriarty.

Holmes uses his skills to entice Moriarty from her lair The British Nation is saved from embarrassment by Holmes A dying man with a terrible secret is brought to Baker Street by a cabby. A visit to Lestrade at Scotland Yard frustrates Holmes whilst Watson is intrigued by a mysterious engine which is the 'prime mover' in the case. The pair begin a desperate search for a young girls killer. She is the key to foiling a Fenian dynamite plot destined to destroy the PM and the most famous address in Westminster!

Holmes and Watson's evening is disturbed by a gruesome find by cabbie Henry Wiggins.

A German pianist, a diplomat working as an aide to the Kaiser is enraged by Holmes's activities. This chance meeting inadvertently saves Holmes from certain death. Only Holmes's unique skills and swift action can halt a very public assassination and avert war in Europe. Since Moriarty's death there has been no-one to challenge Holmes's formidable intellect It seems like the very shadow of Moriarty himself is to envelop Holmes and take him from us.

Only his great intellect and a grand deception stands between him and certain death. Holmes and Watson are invited to the preview of an exhibition of Chinese antiquities at the Victoria and Albert museum. The star exhibit is the Zhou bell, a priceless artifact on loan from the Chinese emperor himself.

Trouble looms as the bell is stolen and Holmes and Watson become involved in Imperial intrigue as they try to retrieve it. The police believe they have been murdered and Flora Smith, the daughter of the deceased couple has been arrested for the murder. However, on further investigation involving an incognito visit to the gasworks where Watson becomes a touch light fingered, Holmes believes that there is another explanation. A visit from the Bishop of Westfield raises concerns about a fellow bishop and his visits to an establishment offering Massage. Secret British Naval papers appear in the German embassy and are linked to the bishops' brother.

Blackmail is suspected and Watson has to bare all in order to gain the necessary intelligence. Holmes must use his skills as a burglar to avoid the bishops' downfall. A request by the Italian ambassador sends Holmes and Watson plunging into the dark world of anarchists in Victorian London. The King of Italy, known for taking risks when traveling incognito in London becomes their target.

Holmes also takes a grave risk to protect the King in Greenwich whilst the ambassador's Venetian Masked Ball gives the anarchists a further opportunity to achieve their goal.
