See a Problem?

As a standard zombie story, this one is entertaining enough, though the editing problems were a distraction. It became clear that the author needed to inspect his work with a human eye and not just spell check due to the replaced words here and there, which were repetitive. While it did distract, I knew what the author was getting at, which allowed me to look past that. The basic story has the main character trying to get back to her sister and her niece in Ohio, both before and after she is bitten, and details her experiences with the people, both living and dead, that she meets along the way.

I would have preferred a sharper, more defined "new" zombie with this creation the author made. She is still driven by her hunger, and while she seems a smart hunter, her humanity never seems to get in the way of a good feast, so the deliberation or interesting debate on if she is more human than monster really never takes place in this tale. Still, I see that there is a sequel on the Kindle, and I felt that this was enjoyable enough, and priced right, for me to pick that one up as well. I have to admit, I am curious where the road takes Rachel. This is a very fast-paced book and readers can tell that from the first page by how the main character is "speaking" read - writing in her journal.

I don't know much about writing but if anyone ever asked my suggestion I would recommend waiting to try your hand at a book in this format until later in the persons career. After talent is established I suppose. It seems like it would be easy but as anyone who reads th This is a very fast-paced book and readers can tell that from the first page by how the main character is "speaking" read - writing in her journal. It seems like it would be easy but as anyone who reads these types of books probably knows, it's not. This was jumbled together, one situation ran right into the next with no kind of meshing at all, the character was likable but was just very basic - not formed well at all IMO, and honestly, things just didn't make sense and didn't fit.

I don't have the book in front of me but why wasn't the serum expanded upon?

A Zombie Apocalypse

That little part right there could take taken this book to a whole other level. Yet she found it, she used it, and it's gone.

There's no meat to any of the parts of the book at all. The husband is locked up, the husbands dead, nothing in between. The ending wasn't good either - very predictable to say the least. There were editing mistakes but as this was self-published I got past that.

Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection () - IMDb

Books published the usual way don't get off so easy with me. I wish there were some other reviews on here because I'd like to see what others think. I think the talent is there and with some effort and maybe some recommendations from a more experienced author a good book can be written. Apr 05, Trinity rated it liked it Shelves: This book is a textbook example of what publishers can bring to the table. The idea and the basic story are good, but so many errors make it extremely difficult to get through the book. This author was in desperate need of spell-check and a few beta readers.

Some of the errors can be excused as the narrator's voice, since the entire thing is a journal written under desperate conditions. But there were far too many problems with grammar, spelling, and word usage. Enjoyable read, but I'm glad I bo This book is a textbook example of what publishers can bring to the table. Enjoyable read, but I'm glad I borrowed it instead of buying it.

Sep 08, Jenny Houfek rated it did not like it. Ok, this book was written by a third grader at best. I wish I didn't feel like the main character was completely stupid because I think the story premis would be a good one. I would like find out what happens in the rest of the series, but I honestly dont think I could read more books written like that. Hopefully I can find a synopsis written by an actual 3rd grader, it might be more entertaining.

Jun 10, William Hage rated it it was ok. The idea was a good one, but it was just so short that it never had the chance to flesh everything out. There were many errors so the editing was not very good. I can get past some mistakes, but this novella had a bunch. I do not think I will continue with the series the first book just did not catch my interest enough.

I only finished it because it was so short it took no time at all to read through. Apr 05, Edward Pissmeoff rated it really liked it Shelves: Other than the many many spelling and grammar errors, which i blame on the editor, i really enjoyed a zombie apocalypse by luethke. Mar 27, Geoffrey rated it liked it. Uneven story in need of an editor - I do like the idea of a zombie retaining enough sentience to be able to narrate their experience, in this case via diary entries. Sep 04, Lily Stephenson rated it really liked it. I really liked it, though it was short. The grammar, and spelling errors stuck out to me like a sore thumb, but I looked passed them since I got the book for only 99 cents.

It was actually nice reading this book form the point of view it was in.

Resurrection: A Zombie Novel: Resurrection Book 1

Not many zombie books are like this.. Apr 12, Tera rated it it was ok. This book was pretty interesting. It could have been better if it was longer. It is too short to establish a good plot and really pull you into the story. It had many spelling and grammer errors with words missing or the wrong word was used.

Nov 11, Jeffrey Newman rated it really liked it Shelves: Interesting format and illustration of going from human to almost zombie. Very fast read and I would definitely recommend to my students. Look forward to reading the second book in this series. Mar 02, Jessica Bell rated it it was ok. I just was not a huge fan. I felt a little sick at the end of reading this and will not be reading the next one because I am pretty sure it is much more of the same stuff. Once you get past the editorial mistake, it's a pretty original take on the zombie story.

It's a entertaining, quick read for any Zombie fan, or anyone looking for a way to pass a few hours. I think I won this from goodreads, but don't quote me on that. Nov 27, Drea rated it liked it. Gives a different perspective of the zombie story: Jan 01, Karen rated it liked it Shelves: The story was great, but there were numerous typos and spelling errors. As long as you can overlook the mistakes, it is an enjoyable read.

Mar 25, Kira Sabino rated it liked it. I thought this book was okay. I loved the story line and plot, just not the style in which it was written, but it didn't bother me too much! Im looking forward to reading the second one. Jul 20, Linsey rated it it was ok. Great idea, i am not even sure what bugged me about it, just Something made it only meh, mediocre.

Feb 13, Lhsmediacenter added it Shelves: Available on Kindles This was a decent book, if not an instant masterpiece. The storyline was based on an interesting pr We've all read the books or seen the movies; the zombie apocalypse is here. The storyline was based on an interesting premise, but was uninspired. The characters were rather stereotypical and not very sympathetic. The action at times was thrilling, such as the assault at the grocery store, but at other times the story was plodding.

The editorial staff left a bit to be desired, with spelling errors and grammatical miscues which made it difficult to follow the tale. Overall, this was a fair way to spend a few hours, but I've read better. Jan 10, Mike rated it really liked it. Nov 20, Marise Otto rated it it was amazing. I really enjoyed the book, and the suspense it creates in the beginning with Annie, not remembering the past few weeks, or what had happened to her, and you basically fear the worst when she finds the bite mark on her back.

I also like the growth that Parker undergoes in the book, as person, he starts out as such a bad guy, but in the end you feel so sorry for him, and you can see the growth in him. I felt very disappointed in the person Kyle turned out to be, and my disappointment is matched with I really enjoyed the book, and the suspense it creates in the beginning with Annie, not remembering the past few weeks, or what had happened to her, and you basically fear the worst when she finds the bite mark on her back. I'm glad that Hughes becomes the leader of the group, as he is a natural leader, and he is quite fair. Jul 10, Michelle rated it really liked it Shelves: This was a great book. The only reason I took half a star off was because I was a little annoyed with how two characters seemed to be thinking about a relationship with each other after only a few days of knowing each other. That is just so unreal to me, but then again, we are talking about a zombie apocalypse so I guess anything is possible. There always has to be an asshole in a group. I got this ebook f 4.

I got this ebook for free and I will likely purchase the next is the series pretty quick because I really want to find out what happens next on their journey. Sep 26, Shawn Beilfuss rated it really liked it. I thought Part One was too heavy on character back story, which slowed the book down and compelled me to leave it for a few days. I would recommend more effort revealing character depth via their actions and through events than each character thinking through their backstory.

It just felt slightly forced and killed momentum. However, I came back after those few days and quite enjoyed Part Two and Part Three, which struck the right balance.

I would definitely pick up a second book. Jan 14, Brittany rated it really liked it. I tend to get annoyed when I read a story about zombies and it feels like it is a retelling of an episode of The Walking Dead. While this story had the typical elements of a post-apocalyptic world, there was one very different aspect which kept me reading and wanting more. The only problem I had with this book is, by the end of it, I pretty much hated all of the characters. That being said, it's still worth the read. I am curious about where the story will go but not enough to want to read a seq I tend to get annoyed when I read a story about zombies and it feels like it is a retelling of an episode of The Walking Dead.

I am curious about where the story will go but not enough to want to read a sequel. Dec 09, Marcus rated it really liked it Shelves: I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review This is a book about a zombie apocalypse which contains some very graphic scenes sometimes.

The book is well written, characters are written to displayed both their weak and strong characteristics, action is intense and in your face, situations will pull you into the story, and there are several plot twists and cliff hangers. In this story, a lot of people die. Jan 02, Tia rated it liked it Shelves: Well this put a spin on it. I definitely want to know what happens to these survivors in the second part. My only qualms about this story is how quickly everyone seemed to be at the last girl on earths beck and call when they don't know if she's dangerous or not.

But I guess we'll see what happens. Jan 07, Lisa rated it really liked it. I liked it Good story, characters to like and some to hate. Characters not real well developed, but that seems not to be a fault but a slowly evolving mystery. I like serial characters, so to speak, but serial stories much less so. I was surprised and disappointed that this isn't a stand- alone story.

Nevertheless, I'll probably read the next one. Dec 30, Robert Morganbesser rated it did not like it. Not that original Silly characters doing stupid things in a post apocalyptic world where yet another unknown virus has emerged to ravage humanity. Kind of a cross between fear the walking dead unlikable characters and stupid situations and 28 days later infected humans who are fast and nasty, not really Zombies. I'll pass on the sequels. Jan 09, Shakespearetobe rated it really liked it. Solid story Overall a solid story.

The characters are pretty much what you expect for a zombie book but the plot is supported with some good action sequences. Not sure I'll read book two yet. I wasn't left with a strong curiosity about what comes next being different enough from The Walking Dead to want to invest the time. Feb 02, Kolton Vilos rated it really liked it. They meet other survivors and they don't get along very well and the main characters are trying to get to an island because they think there wont be any zombies there they have some trouble getting there but they soon realize even the islands are full of them.

Mar 01, J. White rated it liked it. I finished it any way, it wasn't bad but it definitely isn't memorable except maybe for its detestable characters. Feb 11, L rated it it was amazing. I raced through this book in a little over two days. It is that good. Zombie apocalypses have been done to death, but this book has a bunch of interesting characters and an even better premise. I cannot wait to read the sequel. Jul 03, Newsfoia rated it it was amazing. Original take on the zombie genre Interesting. Good character development and developments. You like the group and want them to succeed.

Dec 27, A girl has no name rated it it was amazing. Definitely not your typical zombie book. Can't wait to read the next one! Dec 18, Blair Stackhouse rated it it was ok. Too much and not enough Somehow too much plot and not enough plot. Took too long to get to the point. Characters are one dimensional but overbearing. It pretends to have grey characters but they are obvious. The plot twist was insanely predictable and happened too early.

Mar 08, John R. Goyer rated it liked it. Despite thinking we've had enough zombie books and movies for a while, I enjoyed this take on the spread of a zombie virus. A bit too "cliff-hanging" at the end of chapters not top quality writing, but a good story and it's got my interest enough to wonder about the next book Sep 11, Sherry rated it liked it. A good story overall. Writing was a little choppy I am guessing that this is a new author or one of his first books written. Liked the story enough that I might pick up the next in the series if I come across it. Jan 20, Larry Lemmons II rated it it was amazing.
