The Bohemia Interactive team has really invested a lot of effort in adding tons of new vehicles and planes, and then making sure they look the part, with exciting camouflage schemes, wear and tear when needed to make things feel more realistic.
I am impressed, especially with the ever-so-slight Mediterranean sun glare and light dispersion, which you don't get in the Central and Eastern Europe. Apparently, the developers have taken this into account, so it's not just different textures, it's truly a different world they have given you. The smoke and explosion detail is equally splendid. When you blast enemy armor or airplanes, you will be greeted with satisfying blooms of fire and debris, followed by jolly curls of black smoke.
Quite beautiful in every sense, and it sure adds to the realism. The attention to detail is everywhere. Air pressure after artillery shots causing your character to wince ever so slightly, losing aim and stability, the blast of dust around the artillery vehicle, the hot exhaust from tanks and armored vehicles distorting the view. No other game offers these. Notice the distortion near the front roller wheel of the self-propelled piece. On large maps, and this turns out to be an entirely game-related problem, your framerate might dip down for a second or two until the game engine computes all the details.
So the rendering might make your machine wobble for a bit, but after that, once the objects are loaded into memory, everything works fine and smooth, at least as much as your graphics card can allow. This has been resolved with the latest patch. And now, we discuss the most important piece of this game.

What sets ArmA 3 apart from all its competition is the sheer realism. No other game comes even close to being that good, it's not even worth comparing really. So if you're into fragrate, go home now, play with your teddy bear. ArmA 3, much like its predecessors, managed to create a beautiful, engaging, difficult, brutal setting for combined arms operations, with elements of infantry, armor, air, sea, and artillery all cooperating, with solid but sometimes pervy bots that still manage a reasonable deal of intelligence.
Add one-bullet-kill risk, add UAV, thrown in huge maps, scant ammo, and realistic ballistics, and you're into some serious fun. Like any good fanboy, I started with silly things. Sounds stupid, I know, but when you have a five-star rated map available in the workshop, you sure wanna try it. Indeed, the car dynamics has improved a lot. In the past, vehicles tended to feel more wooden, and once you got up to speed, they had all the grace of an oil tanker building up speed for ramming the shore.
ArmA 3 comes with much better steering response, but then I am rambling now, and this ain't one of my car reviews, although you can't not have at least one car reference in any given article. Next, I explored the vast new inventory of weapons and maps. Here, I was ever so slightly disappointed.

If you do not like or wish to have these maps, do not download them and let others do so. There is no need to flame. In the build phase players build bases and other structures with blocks and plates to protect themselves and their team's flag. The constructing is done with the Gravity Gun that allows you to freeze and unfreeze objects, pick them up and move them. Each side has a limited amount of objects so use them vigilant. In the combat phase you will have to try and steal the enemies flag and return it to your flag. This is harder then it sounds since the other team will most likely have build an entire fort worthy of Mordor during the build phase to protect their flag.
You can however unfreeze the enemies objects with the engineer class more about the classes below to make a hole in their defenses. This results in a awesome chaotic match with a different twist each round. The mod also has several different classes which each have their ups and downs. With the unique ability to fire when sprinting, the Scout is a formidable class, albeit one that is difficult to master in a match situation.
Often used for shooting from barricades or leading an all out assault, the strong armor of the Soldier makes it an effective class and difficult to kill, but can be overcome by a quick opponent aiming for the head. The Gravity Gun also has other combat uses, such as using panels as projectile weapons, as well as picking up armed grenades and lobbing them over walls and long distances.
A little known and useful fact is that the Gravity Gun can heal friendly players, by left clicking on them. Often the choice of class by new players, leading to the term of being dubbed a 'rocket-whore', experienced players master the timing and ballistics of the RPG as a weapon, and use it to rocket jump over the highest walls, some able to predict the movement of other players and intercept with well-timed rockets.

This gives the ability to: No music yet, so you'll listen the BGM with lower volume. But that one player, chosen randomly at the beginning of the round, is not bound by mortal restraints. To speak his name is to invite the wrath of hell - but most call him the 'Zombie Master'. He is nigh omnipotent. His invisible hand controls the legions of undead like puppets on strings; slowly closing the net on the humans while they run to and fro like rats in a maze.
There are hundreds of games and modifications founded on this most simple idea; an undead zombie horde that spreads like a cancer, feasting on a few disorganized survivors who try and defend themselves. No, what Zombie Master tries to do is challenge the players. Zombie games are, for the most part, incredibly brainless. Most of the time they get shot a fair bit in the process. Of course, then you have the games on the other end of the scales, mostly multiplayer, that allow players to take control of a zombie.
The trouble is, the gameplay is either incredibly tedious and slow for the zombie, or the player zombie seems too intelligent, moving and fighting like a pro gamer rather than a mindless wretch. Zombie Master is a unique multiplayer modification in that it maintains the tense, frightening atmosphere of a zombie horror game whilst truly challenging the player to think tactically and never underestimate their enemy. It manages to do this because humans only have one enemy- not an army of computer controlled corpses, or group of experienced players- but one single foe. He controls everything; his power is absolute.
He can create zombies at will; and he leads them. He can hide a minion in a place that no computer would think of; flank players in a man oeuvre that is least expected, and plan strategies that player zombies are too impatient to execute. The town, Coonersville, has been compromised. The rebels there have made a base at the top of the mountain. Some menus will be small only having about 15 props but you will also get very large spawn menus. Some of the spawn menus have a lot of gibs which is useful if posing an explosion or a destroyed area. The author will continue to update this mod with more props and combining spawn menus to make search for stuff more efficient. There are many new features in version 1. This includes 2 extra truck wheels for the wheel tool.
Another new thing is that there are more thruster models now for the the thruster tool thanks to Janus. There is one new menu called intierors but other than that there aren't really any spawn menu updates in version 1. See the second screenshots below for instructions on what to do.
It is caused by the Source SDK base from the new steam version we advise you to disable it or from the soundcache. For those who have the new version of steam, while waiting for an official patch, use these tips to play: The mod adds extreme detail to most textures and more bump-maps.
