Kid reviews for The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack | Common Sense Media
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. These are ratings and comments found on amazon. July 8, Great story with a rhythmic flow. Frequently requested by my boys! Their grandfather also has an Aussie that they love and adore. Flapjack's joyous innocence and inherent curiosity reminds us why dogs and humans are best friends.
Flapjack remains to be one of my favorite cartoons of all time.
It's dark and gross out humor fit amazingly in the world it was set in. No, it's not educational, but not all shows have to be. The characters are diverse, there's tons of family moments between Flapjack, K'nuckles and Bubbie, and it has a very unique plot. There are references to alcohol and abuse, but most kids wouldn't understand it nor care. But if you're overprotective, you can just watch it with them. I highly recommend this show to anyone who loves cartoons. You won't be disappointed. Teen, 13 years old Written by Inflatablmanatee October 18, It's the best show ever! This show is amazing, the humor is, humorous, every episode will make you laugh your pants off.
The characters have their flaws, and that's what makes them characters.

Teen, 16 years old Written by PigeonPigeon July 18, Not for everyone but definitely has an audience This show is a total guilty pleasure of mine, and not one I think should be forgotten. If you go in expecting to see a bouncy fun pirate show you probably aren't going to enjoy it.
There often isn't some deep meaning or moral to the weirdness, it's just weird for the sake of it, and honestly, it is one of the things I enjoy about it. You could argue though that the ridiculousness combined with the darker undertones reflects the nature of the two characters Flapjack and K'nuckles but this isn't an English essay so I won't go into that.
The art-style is really what drew me to the show. Everything from the backgrounds to the character designs look wonderful and unique and the show uses the mixed media elements to it's advantage, creating a strong tone. It really pushed the boundaries of what could be done with a television budget. What kept me watching is the characters. This is a show with characters that you either love or hate but personally I find all of the characters very endearing. Their strong personalities make for great comedic moments and character dynamics.
Overall an incredibly good show and a must watch for animation fans, but just be sure you know what you are getting into. Teen, 13 years old Written by Jeremiah Gary13 May 8, This show is the bay! I love Flapjack because he's hilarious and cute. But Knuckles is a grumpy, selfish, and bossy character. I loved this show so much when I was little. I watched it on Cartoon Network and it was the best!! Teen, 15 years old Written by Hg64 July 23, Might scare your kids but it has great humour I remember watching many episodes of Flapjack with my older brother. We both love the show. I feel like some scenes and images are unnecessary. My favourite episode is when Flap and K'nuckles meet Colonel the dog.
The art style is quite dark and I feel like it needs brighter colours.

Remember to NOT do what K'nuckles does! Overall I like the show for the strange shapes used for the character designs, memorable episodes and how cute Flapjack is. I also like Bubbie. She's a great mother. I'm not sure if the show would be allowed on tv today because of how strange and dark it is.

Teen, 14 years old Written by AcidTrip October 22, Need I say more? This show is just one giant adventure full of crazy situations and mishaps, all while our main characters desperately try to make it to Candied Island. And spoiler alert, they never made it. But hey, at least they tried. Anyway, there's nothing to worry about: No cursing, no sexy fun times, and gimme a break with the violence. As I said with my lovely Ren and Stimpy review, if you think this show has way too much violence, watch Tom and Jerry.
Capabilities Text to speech. His canine roots ran deep, and dogs have always been a big part of his life.
