Two strangers meet in a nightclub and end up spending the night together in a hotel. After the intro scene, it's just two people. They talk a lot, but don't say much. Add a few short not really sex scenes with minimal only incidental nudity and that's the movie. One hour and 27 minutes later when the credits roll, after thinking the plot has to develop into something but doesn't, you realize your mistakes.

What keeps him from doing the right thing through most of the story is his concern for the opinion of others also not uncommon for the period. His son, Phillipe, is much more beta than alpha, but he rallies at the end to save the day. This story is similar to Holt's Too Tempting to Touch in that you've got the villainous older female relative, and like Too Hot to Handle in which you get the monstrously evil teenage girl.

Mar 02, Wench rated it it was ok Shelves: Trigger warnings for this book, giant lit up beeping trigger warnings, for non-consent and pedophilia. Also the rapist and pedophile likes bondage. How sick am I of the trope that people who like bondage are terrible? We already had one really terrible villain! I can't even with this book.

None of the principal characters are likable, and you'd OH. None of the principal characters are likable, and you'd think with so many, we'd find one. Their interests - and we only know the interests of two of them! There are so many editing errors. Like pants having "placards" and people doing things "in a thrice". Then there's the constant "spinning" of doorknobs and people who "rotated". It's as if the author was determined to avoid the usual adjectives, and didn't bother to check how her choices sounded. And had a terrible editor. Who also didn't catch the blatant anatomy errors.

This is a terrible book, and not even in a fun way. It gets two stars because I finished it, but it's really a no-star book. I liked very much. It's an amazing book, and an amazing story. Dar lucrurile se incurca pentru ca in scena apare fiul ilegitim al contelui chipesul si temperamentalul Phillip Praxton de care Olivia se simte atrasa irezistibil, iar insusi contele e atras la randul lui de placuta, inteligenta si discreta ruda saraca, verisoara Winnie Stewart cea fara nici un pic de sange nobil Dar totul e bine cand se termina cu bine asa ca fiecare isi gaseste fericirea mult dorita iar Margaret mama vitrega a Oliviei este pedepsita pentru rautatea si viclenia ei.

Jumatate din carte este dedicata scenelor fierbinti si pasionale Dar avem si o observatie de bune simt: Femeia nu avea alta putere si alta protectie dect cea pe care reusea sa si-o obtina singura. What exasperating, insipid and shallow characters with no redeeming feature in them whatsoever. I was prepared to be blown away by Cheryl Holt, judging from all the fanfare garnered in eager reviews, but I completed the novel disgruntled and kind of infuriated that I'd wasted my time on this drivel.

There are like 3 different relationships being played out at the same time, and they're not even that well de Good grief! Even the sex is pitifully frigid, nowhere near being "erotic".

When will I learn to not have high expectations for these things? But even so, there are some fantastic novels that have come out of this out of this genre. Deeper than Desire is not it. Perhaps I started with the wrong book I nearly always do but if this is the best that Holt can come up with then I don't think I shall read any more.
