And once more they do not hesitate to kill innocent breeds and destroy their Darkhavens. Nikolai and Renata is close to having a baby and it is time for old friends to meet again and celebrate the fact. A reunion party for our favorite breeds which is ideal for Opus Nostrum to strike if they want the leader of the Breeds dead.
The book could be read as a standalone, but I suggest a backward reading that will tie the most important secondary characters with this story: Darker After Midnight Midnight Breed 10 2.

Claimed in the Shadows was a pretty good read. Not as good as some of the others but still very enjoyable. I liked Aric a lot but at first he came off immature. I liked Kaya and I enjoyed the plot. I felt really bad for Rafe. I can't wait for his book. Niko and Renata had their son Yay! The ending felt super rushed. Still love this series. View all 12 comments. It was the least favorite in this series for me. Most of their time was with the order and about the work! Told in multiple POV, 3rd person. I hope the next book is about Rafe! View all 23 comments. There's passion, suspense and a ultimate betrayal, not only are the breed warrior's and their breed mates at war with opus ,but there's a bigger threat closer to home that could destroy the breed and all they love. But this is also Aric and kaya's story and it's full of passion and love and great sex!!!

Kaya is a Breedmate and a recruit for The Order, Kaya is eager to prove herself and to move up the ranks like her friend and mentor Mira.
For Aric, this mission is a slight detour, he wants to return to Washington, D. There are unexpected issues that arise on their mission, issues that will keep Aric in Montreal longer than he anticipated. Meanwhile, he and Kaya develop a great partnership with a strong mutual attraction, their chemistry is definitely apparent. Are you just trying to make me feel good? Eventually they manage to overcome these obstacles and Aric helps her with deal with her past while they look for a trader with ties to The Order.
I love that we get characters from past books along with a bonus storyline involving Renata and Niko which brings many of the original characters to Montreal. I love that Lara Adrian can keep the storyline intriguing, interesting and fresh. A must-read for all paranormal romance fans, once again another exciting installment in the Midnight Breed series!!!
View all 10 comments. This was a very interesting installment. It felt like a family reunion of sorts. Every past couple from the series was either present or was discussed. It was a bit too much considering how many warriors and breed mates that included. I didn't love or relate to the characters as well as I have in the past.
My major complaint would be that the ending felt rushed. The heroine had a secret and told lies This was a very interesting installment. The heroine had a secret and told lies to the Order even though she was on their strike team. Her lies of omission put the order at a disadvantage in dealing with the enemy. Yet the ending was a gloss over. She never really had to own up to her misdirection with her commander.
It was all very strange.

Coach (Breeding, #1) by Alexa Riley
Kaya is a breedmate who is training with the Montreal branch of the Order. When Aric and Kaya are teamed up to go undercover to investigate a lead in the ongoing war against Opus Nostrum a terrorist group determined to wipe out the Breed , they both have something to prove and they throw themselves into their mission. They quickly realise that their connection is more than just physical, and I loved watching them fall for each other! I hardly know you. Not one damned bit. She has a past that she has tried hard to move on from, but that she remains tied to, and those ties are about to cause big problems with her work for the order.
I loved Aric and Kaya together. Their feelings for each other take them both by surprise, but I love how functional they were about it. They followed their hearts, and though they got scared and there were moments of confusion and uncertainty, I could completely understand where they were at, and on the whole their love story is sweet, passionate and just gorgeous. A big bonus for me — with the story being set in Montreal, it gives us the chance to hook up with Niko and Renata again, and OMG, I loved their story!
It was really special, and a great added extra to the book. I loved being back in the Breed world. I was immediately sucked back into everything that I love about this world, I loved catching up with old characters, as well as meeting new, and this book was just what I was hoping for. Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. I'm a huge fan of the Midnight Breed , it's been my favourite PNR series for a long time now and in my opinion Lara Adrian's books just keep getting better and better. The last few novellas have been great but they were about some of the European Order members so this is our first chance to catch up with the core order members in a while.
I hadn't actually realised how much I missed them until I started reading this but it was absolutely wonderful to see so many old familiar faces and I'm loving I'm a huge fan of the Midnight Breed , it's been my favourite PNR series for a long time now and in my opinion Lara Adrian's books just keep getting better and better. I hadn't actually realised how much I missed them until I started reading this but it was absolutely wonderful to see so many old familiar faces and I'm loving getting to know the next generation too.
The Order has been trying to put a stop to Opus Nostrum for a while now, this terror group wants to wipe the Breed off the face of the planet and now that they have access to UV weapons they're an even more dangerous enemy. Every lead the Order get seems to reach a dead end and Opus Nostrum are always one step ahead so they really need to work fast to get information from their latest suspect. Aric is Sterling and Tavia's son and twin to Carys, his rare daywalker abilities make him the ideal Order member to go undercover at a high class wedding where they might have a chance to interrogate their mark.
He has been teamed up with Kaya, a breedmate who has worked hard to prove herself a valuable asset to the Order. Both Aric and Kaya are desperate to become fully fledged members and this assignment is the perfect time to show off their skills. Kaya's unique breedmate ability to read people's mind with a touch, combined with Aric's ability to wipe memories should make it easy to get information on Opus Nostrum without tipping their hand but field jobs hardly ever go exactly as planned and if things go wrong they'll be on their own.
Kaya was such an easy character to like, she has worked so hard to prove herself to the Order and although she's no match for a member of the Breed in physical strength she holds her own pretty well and brings her own set of skills to the party. Kaya had a difficult upbringing and there are things about her past that she's incredibly ashamed of so she's keeping some pretty big secrets because she's terrified of being kicked out if the Order learns the truth.
She would never do anything to hurt the Order, they've become the family she always dreamed of, but when you've been hiding something for so long it just gets harder and harder to come clean. Aric initially comes across as a little self centred and arrogant but once you get to know him you realise he's not a bad guy. His parents have always given him and his sister everything they could ever want but they both had to earn their place in the Order - there are no free rides given no matter who your parents are.
In fact, having such important family members have only made him feel like he has even more to prove to live up to their reputation. He is drawn to Kaya immediately but they're both reluctant to start any kind of official relationship, partly because he doesn't plant to stay in Montreal for very long but also because Kaya knows her secrets will come out eventually and she doesn't want to lie to to him. What starts as a fairly antagonistic relationship soon grows into mutual respect and that allows them both to give in to the simmering attraction that was there all along.
I loved their romance and found it very easy to root for them as a couple. We also get the chance to catch up with some of the original couples, Nikolai and Renata are in charge of the Montreal chapter of the Order and they have some exciting things going on in their lives so we see a fair amount of them both along with their adopted daughter Mira and her mate Kellan, but we also get a glimpse of Lucan, Gabrielle, Rio, Dylan, Chase, Tavia, and some of the others.
I loved getting to know Rafe Tess and Dante's son and really hope we get a book for him but I don't think he's going to be ready for a relationship just yet so we might have to wait a while. This series is just getting better and better, the fight against Opus Nostrum is heating up, the danger to the Breed is increasing and the Order's task to protect Breed and humans alike is just getting more complicated. I love where Lara Adrian is taking these books and and can't wait to get my hands on the next instalment!

I love and look forward to every book that she pens. Midnight Untamed was short and sweet but it gave me everything that I have come to adore about this series. Savage was pure Breed and Arabella was the perfect Breedmate for him. A member of the Order and a woman sold to a notorious drug lord.
The past meets the present and the past wins. As Savage learns what the one woman he has loved has endured, he knows he needs to protect her. Bella never stopped loving her Ettore and knows, even though he may have just destroyed everything that she tried to save, he will do exactly as he says and will come through for her in the end.
The perfect story of love and trust and a bond that could not be broken. Lara Adrian started this story off on a high note and ended it on an even higher one. She did not give us any down time. Midnight Untamed is a novella in the Midnight Breed world. Lara Adrian is able to pack so much into such a short amount of space. Despite only being a novella, you are left feeling complete and satisfied. Each novella features groups of the Order all over the world. The characters and stories normally do not have any impact on the overall arc of the Midnight Breed series, but are SO much fun to get an inkling of what the rest of the the Order is up to. In Midnight Untamed we are in Rome. Savage i Midnight Untamed is a novella in the Midnight Breed world. Savage is on the job and gets a huge surprise just as he is about to complete his mission.
He totally abandons his post and orders to save the woman he thought he had lost before she becomes a casualty. Savage has never disobeyed orders before, but to get Arabella away from the situation she is in he doesn't even hesitate. He doesn't even know if she is there willingly! We still have enemies to defeat and Savage DID leave the job without securing the success. Bella and Savage race to save Bella's family and it always makes me wonder, where are the cops?
If I were driving one of these expensive cars at top speed, I know I would get caught! But, it does add to the adrenaline and anticipation of the story. Do they have speed limits over there? The romance in Midnight Untamed cannot truly be called "insta-love". The characters have known each other for years, have always loved each other. Now that the truth of why they separated so many years ago is out in the open, they are free to get back to where they started. I honestly thought the reason the two separated was kind of weak. I mean, he didn't even try , but he suffered with all the feelings of loss all these years?
However, their bonding had me almost in tears. So many of these stories have the alpha male doing the "Mine" thing during these hot rituals. Savage though, brought the word "love" into the situation, and that got me. Another thing that I thought made Savage different was that he didn't do the thing where the male alpha takes over the situation like the woman was weak.
He trusts what he feels Bella sending down the mate bond and waits to act.
A science based exploration of (mostly) dogs … and the occasional rant.
I think Savage was more in touch with his feelings. He is an alpha male, don't get me wrong, but he also is aware of what he feels. I really loved him. Midnight Untamed was a fast-paced, adrenaline filled ride. We are even left with a little hint of something, which I will be looking out for.
Right now, let's have a taste of how perfect Savage and Bella are! Excerpt of Midnight Untamed Ettore seemed to feel the same awareness that she did. The heat radiating from him was palpable, his touch at the small of her back light, yet searing. She wanted to feel his hands on her everywhere, not just in comfort or reassurance, but in passion. He cursed as his eyes met hers, his hazel irises dark but glittering with flecks of amber. His pulse slammed against her palm, hammering like a drum. I liked that no character was superman or superwoman able to beat all people in a fight and survive a starship crash without injury.

Khazaar, is the alien that she is supposed to mate to, and he will do anything to protect her and his people.
This is an interesting read but such a great read. It does not end in a cliffhanger but it does have an ending where it does go on to a second book if you want to go on. I can't wait to see where it goes. I liked the storyline in the beginning. The idea of the girl falling for the comander of the aliens that she has been given to as a reward for saving the human race, softens the betrayal of such an act.
The story then goes into a crash, slavery, mind reading, a harem, and a daring rescue.
With all of this going on, it is hard to develop all of the characters. When the story books are read together, it creates more of a rounded story. Maybe they should only be read together. Every book can be read as a standalone. Cassie Burnett is a strong woman. She fights against Sethari, who enslaved all humans.
When another alien race offers a trade, Cassie is one of the chosen women. She is now given to Warlord Khazaar Drasurq, leader, dangerous and unpredictable.
