This book has two stories that involve a child of remarkable nature.
One is a girl, Sunoya had a secret she was marked with a sign of a blessing and a curse. She learned healing and hid her secret from everyone. Dahzi, the hungry one who has the fabled mark of a remarkable child. The beginning of the epic story does not express the scope or bearing of the story. The book is like looking into ancient Native American culture the Cherokee believe system. The story explores the connections between the immortals and humans between magic and reality. How through trials and missions would the young child achieve his life dreams but bring peace to his world.
This is a great Young Adult reader, showing children that it is their effort that will bring them to their dreams, if they listen to the rules and accept their responsibility. May 02, Rachel V.

I know there isn't any way to know how people really did speak but it was hard to keep my head in the past when the speech was more akin to today. I hoped this book was a continuation of the characters from the first book but it jumped ahead many years. I did finish both books - the stories were interesting enough.
