I think the colorful illustrations and the balloons are very engaging for children. The book has Harry counting to by 10's, 5's, and 2's. It is Harry's first day of work and he is very excited to blow up balloons. Throughout the book he has coworkers help him with his counting.

Yes, he does not listen to his friend's advice and follow directions. However, this story is a great tool for pointing that out to children and doing a problem solving activity.

And no matter what he does, the number still comes out wrong. What is the best way to count to ? Colorful illustrations and a clever storyline will help young readers figure out what Harry needs to do to solve his math dilemma. A former music and English teacher, Wendy Ulmer was inspired to write Zero, Zilch, Nada because of her own "math phobia" and struggles with math as a child.
