Series: Texas Heroes

This book is just as good as an audio book as it is as an ebook. I read the ebook about 4 years ago. Cole and Sammie have such great chemistry. Sammie was very down to earth and possessed an inner strength that I don't think she realized was a part of her. Cole was the quintessential knight in shining armour, and he also did not see himself in that role. The story was full of romance, sexy times, danger, action and suspense. There were a number of "edge of your seat" moments. So you really look for This book is just as good as an audio book as it is as an ebook.

The book was well written, and Eric Dove's narration keeps you equally as engaged as the ebook. I hate to do laundry, but I managed to get it all done while listening to this book. It was not a chore this time. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this audio book. Sep 13, Cassie rated it it was amazing.

So enjoyed this box set. Loved all the characters that brought this series together. But he means to keep his woman. Love So enjoyed this box set. Loved this one as well as it introduced past lives and soul mates, also dear to my heart. Having powerful people after you is a good reason to say nothing and hide. But the strong characters in this book were more powerful. Sammie in the end ready to face her past to move forward. I absolutely love the narrator, Eric G, Dove! Samantha is in danger, trying to run and hide, but has no idea what to do to keep herself safe.

The H was a rancher and his characterization as well as the parts that were set on the ranch were what I'd expect for the genre but the true focus of the book was on the suspense plot besides the romance, of course. They are good reading but nothing I'd re-read and if the author continues to add to the series, I doubt I'd fall all over myself to get them. Regardless, the romance was sweet, there were sexy times really only one full scene and I believed in the HEA.

I thought there was more telling than showing when it came to the h trying to 'figure out a solution' to her problems herself - this was repeated often but the h never really DID anything.

I will say though that I liked how she fought back when she was captured - she didn't just sit and cry and whine. She fought and actually tried to escape her bindings herself. There was some growth to the characters but internal conflict wasn't really the focus of the book - their conflict was mostly external and was happily and believably resolved.
