This book begins where Blood Law left off and right from the start it grabbed hold, and seriously, didn't let go! Reviewed for the April issue of Affaire de Coeur Magazine View all 18 comments. Jul 17, Jess rated it it was ok Shelves: He chooses to take her as his mate and leaves a broken hearted Rafael behind as Falon is now part of the Mondragon pack. The entire book focuses on Falon now being an alpha with Lucien and preparing for the big Blood Moon rising when the fight between the packs and the Slayers will come to a bloody conclusion.
To me, this trashes everything she was feeling for Rafael in book 1.
Contact Me:
She never denies the love she feels for Rafael, nor does she deny the love she feels for Lucien and tells him many times that she chooses to be with him. Lucien can feel the love the she has for Rafael and it pisses him off all the time. It was hard to understand why he kept acting out when he felt her love for his brother, especially when she told him time and again that yes, she loves Rafael, but she chose to stay with Lucien. I thought many times, enough!! Falon made some bad decisions as well. But she taunts the wrong people with her power and ends up finding herself in more than one life threatening situation.
Even though what happened between her mother and her yet to be revealed father is completely uncertain, it is eluded to, I wanted her to finally shed some light on everything to Falon and us as readers. My biggest issue with this book — it crosses the line sexually between Falon and Lucien. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to erotic stories, especially erotic PNR because lines will be pushed, pretty far sometimes, but there are some lines that I just don't want to read about being crossed.
Lucien and Falon have some dirty, animalistic sex scenes. Early on, the most daring was Falon in her human form and Lucien in his wolf form during foreplay. It was a little eh, but it was foreplay and that was it; until it came to the scene where they had full out sex with Falon as human and Lucien in his wolf form. This is a no-go for me and even with the issues I was having regarding the main relationship not really working, this just soured me to the whole book.
I did end up finishing it and the book ends on another cliffhanger. Judging by the cover of book 3 and all the hints leading up to the final installment, the three leads will finally come together for the big Blood Moon rising. At this point, I have no desire to find out how it all plays out in the final book. View all 19 comments. Aug 15, Marie rated it it was amazing Shelves: I mean yeah Raf is nice, but Lucas, dang, he's sexy! He oozes sex appeal, hotnesses and mystery. How can you not be attracted to that, he is well appealing, interesting and gorgeous!
Wow, did not see that coming. Falon Groton my nerves a little but. She couldn't be happy with Lucian, or even Raf. She wants both of them. I mean two brothers and one girl.. It's kinda weird but when their both just gorgeous well I'm kinda jealous haha! Now the 'fenir' wolf's got her so What ever, pray tell, will happen now?
I loved these scenes between Falon and Lucien; He pressed his forehead to hers and looked down at her swollen breasts. His fingers tightened around her arms. What he did next stunned her. Carefully, he buttoned up her vest and then stood back from her.
Welcome to Reddit,
He held out his hand to her. Dumbfounded, she took it. He led her through the heaving, gasping, humping pack up the metal stairway to his room. Quietly, he shut the door behind them. Speechless, she stood there in the middle of the bedroom, her body on fire while he—he did what?
Falon threw her head back and laughed.

Jun 06, Tigris Eden rated it it was amazing Shelves: Bloodright Blood Moon Rising Trilogy 2 by Karin Tabke The coming of the Blood Moon will lead two Lycan packs into war, spur two rival brothers into conflict, and spark an act of vengeance so evil that its effects will be felt for generations.
But it may also doom the Alpha brothers-and the Lycan race-to extinction.. I waited and waited and waited for this book! I was NOT disappointed! Right from the beginning it picks up right where it left off in Blood Law. Rafa and Fallon have agreed to abide by what ever the council decides. It could mean the difference between life and death for both Rafa and Fallon.
This stems back from a family feud between Rafa and Luca each alphas of their both packs. Pack Vulkasin and Pack Mondragon. Rafa slayed his chosen and the term an eye for an eye is literal. Rafa states his chosen Mara was a slayer and of course Luca disagrees whole heartedly. The council decides to give Fallon over to Lucien and it sets the three of them on a course that is chain reactive for all the packs! I loved every minute of this book and kept turning pages! Brings out a side of her she has never know before. Even with Rafa… Can I just stop right there and say this?
But damn she did it up right! The power of three will unite the packs and vanquish the slayers for all time come the rising! And I am all for it as long as it entails the three of them tangled on the forest floor enjoying themselves! I loved the dynamics of the packs and how they were all emotionally connected to their alphas, when the alphas mated the pack mated and when the alpha gets with cub then the packs will begin to reproduce.
Blood Moon: An American Epic of War and Splendor in the Cherokee Nation by John Sedgwick
That is strong family connection right there! Then of course there are a few surprises there is Layla who Fallon recognizes from her past and then there is Fenrir and the ring! In a Lord of the Rings voice The one true ring to rule them all! I gotta say I know where this is headed and I am eager to see how it all plays out and of course Tabke leaves you on edge at the end wanting the next book NOW!
Be prepared to get pulled into a world deep with emotions and heartache…. Because Bloodright will take you there and back again only to leave you wanting! Hands down I enjoyed this book it gets more than 5 starts more like 10! Mar 15, Vanessa theJeepDiva rated it it was amazing Shelves: Bloodright is an amazing follow up to Blood Law.
The book starts off at a quick pace and the action, emotions and revelations just keep accelerating. Be prepared to not be able to put this book down until the very last page! I loved Rafael and Falon as a couple. Their relationship was securely established in Blood Law. There are so many layers to this male.
As Falon gets to know Lucien she quickly discovers this fact. He is just as loyal and honorable as his golden brother. She also discovers that she may be able to bring the two packs back together. The two packs reuniting are paramount for their coming battle at the rise of the Blood Moon with the Slayers.
Lucien, Falon, and Rafael are preparing for this battle and what their roles in it will be. Through a Slayer attack they discover that together they make a more formidable pack to fight against the Slayers that are determined to rid the world of all Lycans. She has been put into an impossible position. Her choice in the man she will be with has been taken from her by laws that she was not raised by. She makes the best of her situation. Even when both men seem to only see their inner torment over the circumstances that they have found themselves in she still keeps her head high and seeks to find a way for all to be happy with the councils ruling in regards to the Blood Law.
The sex scenes are beyond hot and sensually erotic. Lucien is one sexually charged Lycan that has finally found the female that completes him. This is one hot and sexy romance. There are a few sexual situations where the characters are in their shifted wolf forms. These scenes are tastefully written on flow with the eroticism of the book and the primal mating bond that get established between the couple. And now I will impatiently wait for December 4 and the release of the third and final book in this amazing series, Blood Vow. View all 6 comments.
Apr 02, Elena R a. Lunies R rated it it was amazing Shelves: Here I thought theirs no way I'll even come close to liking Lucien, but my mind and body played tricks on me. Great story line and awesome as heck characters!
The Hero and heroine are kick ass! Nice come back from the first novel and well worth waiting nearly a year to finally read it. Damn I feel like I betrayed Rafa! Now I know how Falon feels. Apr 06, Bunnycore rated it really liked it Shelves: There is blood, rough sex, and well somethings that are going to be very morally objective.
I liked this book a lot and if you read or have read this book and want to talk about it. I will explain why one part didn't bother me. So I rarely binge read a series with the exception of this series. I love Falon, Luca, and Rafa. I feel for these characters, they are broken and they need to be loved. This was a turning point for Luca and Rafa. Falon is in love with both boys, She is now with Luca and Rafa is having the worst time with it. He has to now mark a new girl and move on. He is honor bound to do it. I am ready for the three of them together. This was a good book and I am ready for the last.
In Bloodright, author Karen Tabke weaves an exciting, tension filled tale of a Lycan nation on the brink of war and the very discordant, intense emotional dynamics between three Lycans. This story had my heart twisted up in all sorts of directions because of the intensity of the heartache, pain and love came screaming off the pages in this book. Add in the intensity of the plot against the Slayers who want to destroy the werewolves and you have a recipe for a superb story.
Lucien Mondragon and Ra In Bloodright, author Karen Tabke weaves an exciting, tension filled tale of a Lycan nation on the brink of war and the very discordant, intense emotional dynamics between three Lycans. Lucien Mondragon and Rafael Vulkasin are twin brothers who are the respective alphas of their packs - the Mondragon Pack and the Vulkasin Pack.
The beginning of the story has the reader thrown into the middle of the ramifications of Rafael handing over Falcon to Lucien creating an astounding start to a great book. Because of her powers and ther relationship with the two alphas, she becomes a major player int he building conflict. The more time Falcon spends with Lucien, she falls in love with him, too. Because of the tie she spends with Lucien, she also learns more about herself and her powers. The strength of the feelings she has for both Lucien and Rafael causes Falcon to be torn between the feelings she has for each brother since they have both melded to her soul.
They each fulfill here in different and inexorable ways which make her complete. In addition, she has a strong feeling that she is supposed to be with both brothers and has a strong suspicion that the Prophecy of the Three relates to the three of them. Bloodright is an outstanding book and I am waiting with bated breath for the next installment of this series. If you are a paranormal romance genre reader, this is a book you do not want to pass up.
It has everything one could hope for in a good book - love, hate, mayhem, sensual moments, Lycans. Absolutely a hands down five star read! And the ending will leave you pining for more. I was ree http: The history in which she has given her characters and their story is compelling, and totally sucked me in to the story.
I am normally a character driven reader, and Tabke hit all the major marks with me. However, there are a couple of issues I had with this book, and it revolves around Fallon. How many times is she going to get herself killed before she realizes that she is not in fact invincible. Now I know this is PNR but those things were a bit over the top. Boy was I wrong!! I got the drift really quick in this book that Tabke was going to try to make me like Lucien, aaaaand well I not only liked him, I fell completely in love with him. His character is so complex, as he starts revealing his true self piece by piece, my heart opened up the same way.
Thus leaving me in much of the same situation as Fallon, loving both brothers. But I will admit that were I faced with the choice myself, I would without a doubt choose Lucien. Tabke also knows her way around the smexy scenes, and will surely make your toes curl! Oct 27, April rated it really liked it Shelves: So it's an easy decision for him. So try to look at it from his point of view. Yeah, it's a total dick move, but would you do the same thing? As far as what Femto Griffith did to Casca, I'm not sure if that was just a power move to prove himself better than Guts and break his will or what.
But either way, there are a lot of variables to the situation. Yep, there are a lot of variables. Even before the Eclipse, before he is captured by Midland, he makes it quite clear how egotistical he is and willing to use people as pawns for his dream. It is you can understand the factors that would lead someone to making a choice and also condemn them for the selfishness and pain that the choice brings. Nothing Griffith went through justifies his betrayal of the people who continually put there lives on the line to save him and believed in him.
Being fleshed out and understandable doesn't get him off that massive he was hanging off of. After things spiraled out of control sure, it made sense for him to take the opportunity. But I think the key turning point was move on the princess. But instead he took a needlessly stupid risk and paid the consequences. She was in the early stages of pregnancy from her one time with Guts. That's good to know. I actually just started reading the manga but I've got a long way to go. I'm a filthy scrub who's only seen the movies and only just yesterday, at that! In the movies, there is a scene where it shows cells dividing, which otherwise doesn't really make sense.
Me, to opponent's friends: For those curious, it's from the Berserk anime films. All 3 are on Netflix. They are not for the faint of heart. Especially the 3rd movie. Still a really good series. As countless below me have indicated, Berserk is a manga first, anime second. I've watched the movies on a recommendation hence why I said movie. If you weren't aware the Anime has picked back up after the eclipse and is quite good if you can bear the new animation style faux 3d. The animation style is absolutely atrocious.
By far the worst I have ever seen. There are a few spots that I think to myself "Oh, that looked pretty cool. Some people are just bad in what they are doing. It has nothing to do with laziness or budget. The whole thing is just a terrible mess. I know the anime, couldn't quite get into the animation even thought i don't think is thaaaaaat bad its bad tho. The first draft chapter was written in , but it's not part of the same continuity. The actual manga started in Is it really appropriate to call it old when it's ongoing?
It started a few decades ago but it's an ongoing series. Yeah the anime is actually a masterpiece. The fact they chose this timeline only boosts its quality. It's a great standalone. If you liked the movies you really need to watch the original anime from the 90s. It covers the same story arc but goes into much more detail in terms of everyone's daily lives and psychology, as you'd imagine.
For me, any amount of extended time with Griffith is worth it, he is just such a fascinatingly tragic character. I've read up on the wiki articles but can't stomach watching anything of it's intensity again. I have a high tolerance Attack on Titan doesn't bother me but the ending the 3rd film was beyond what I'd call enjoyable in my opinion. Definitely an awesome character with a lot of depth and motive. The 97 anime is definitely less brutal than the 3rd movie, outside of the final episode.
It's worth a watch. The manga doesn't hold back though. The 97 anime is great. The show's animation was so poor I read the manga. I am better for it I think. The manga is great. It got better in the second season.
I was perfect in part 3 of the movies. I wish they would have stuck with that style. It makes me irrationally angry that you said movie, and not manga. You know it's from a manga right? It's important to me that you know that. How often are animes not based on a manga? I haven't watched much anime or read any manga, but it always seems like from discussions I see that practically every anime is based on a manga, but people will reference the anime more often because anime is much, much more popular than manga at least in the west.
There are a lot of original anime out there, especially today when anime is more popular than ever. You could probably do a bit of googling to find a decent chunk that are original anime. Some of which are amazing series. Back in the 80s and 90s, original anime series were far more common, primarily because people had more free time. However, since then, Japanese work culture has gotten much worse, and people have much less free time, so manga are a more popular form of entertainment than anime you can read them on the train to work, for example.
In the West anime are more popular, but in Japan barely anyone has the time to watch anime, so manga are far more popular. Because of this, most anime series are based on manga -- or rather, were based on manga until recently. If you've never heard of light novels, they're basically pulp novels typically fantasy or sci-fi which have been split up into short novellas so that they can be released as the author writes them. Think a page airport doorstopper split into ten page books and released over time, and you have an LN series.
They're called "light" because they're considered to be "light reading" and are just trying to be fun and entertaining rather than cerebral or complex though this isn't always true, and many LNs do have more complex themes or characters. Yes I'm aware it's a manga as most animes are. Feel free to be irrationally angry at some rando on the internet, I can't stop you.
While I don't necessarily disagree with that part, elitism indeed is an issue, the thing is anime adaptation often miss tons of material. And if the good berserk animes are almost equivalent to reading the manga, the main problem is just that the story stops when the manga really starts, the eclipse being more or less the moment when the flashback stops. But yeah I would word it differently, and try to have people read the manga after they're done with the anime, because all my favorite arcs, fights, and characters, come after the eclipse. Do you even meet puck in the anime?
Extremely visceral and graphic but has a great story. I'm fairly certain the author used the helmet from Phanom as an inspiration for this design. I think it was deliberate.

Most fansites seem to agree it was the inspiration for Griffith's mask. The Dark was only released in English and Italian. That card is Japanese Chronicles, which is black border, and goes for sensibly more than Italian The Dark. A manga also an anime called Berserk. It's a crazy graphic story that has an insane villain origin story.
The villain is depicted on the card, and at this point he's been tortured for 2 years with his tendons severed and most of his organs removed. It's been more than 15 years so i might have confused memories but he got his skin and muscle ripped off during a 2 years long torture session. For certain his skin was flayed and many of his tendons were cut, but his muscles are mostly gone from atrophy and not intentional removal, IIRC. He was tortured in a dungeon for 2 years straight and had most of his muscles and a few of his internal organs removed.
