I quickly realized how devastating this would be to these men and women who live to protect others, and I decided it was an amazing dynamic to explore so I created the Cold Harbor series. Cold Terror is the first book in this series and features Gage Blackwell who found himself and many others trying to locate employment they loved after their injuries took them off active military duty. Gage wanted to help himself and the others, so he founded Blackwell Tactical and has hired a team of men and women with diverse military backgrounds.
Together they provide protection services for people in danger and they also train law enforcement professionals in tactical combat skills.
The series revolves around small towns in Eastern North Caroline. Willa Summers had recently been widowed after her husband and son were in a car accident. Her son survived but will be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I knew she needed her own story one day. It took several years for me to tell her story, but I finally did in Taken by Dark. Willa must break down her walls and let others into her guarded life if she wants to survive a stalker whose sights are focused on her. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, you know?
So I decided to give her a book and her own happy ending. I had an image in my head—the scene in a novel—of a health worker looking into a virus in an African village when it was destroyed by mercenaries, and I knew I had to write this story. With the Exposure Series, I hope to shine a light in the darkness.
Lethal Homecoming was an experiment. Finally, I decided it would be fun to see what could happen. So, in between the other projects I had going on, I wrote this short novella.

I will definitely read other titles by this author. Mar 24, Sara rated it it was ok Shelves: I must have a high standard for mysteries because "Home Before Dark" fell far short of the mark. I like to try and figure out things out in a mystery but I was barely interested in the mystery of the death of Daleigh's father. The love story was also uninteresting although I was more intrigued with Ryan's story, I wish that was more developed. By the way I dislike names that are hard to read or are distracting.
The name Daleigh was distracting to me. Is it pronounced like Dolly? If so just name the character Dolly! May 15, Holly rated it really liked it. This was a really good story. You wanted to keep reading to find out what happens. I guessed by the end who murdered her father, but I had no idea what happened to cause it. It was great all the way to the end. The love story was to write and Daleigh was just stupid about the murder of her father and who the guilty party was.
