Anybody who says they have not considered faking their own death when raising teenagers is either fucking lying or taking Valium. Seriously going to sleep tonight praying aliens abduct me because anal probing will be preferable to this. Thursday, 1 March Jenna Jaghe - back to it anytime soon.

So today I have watched Save Me box set on sky. I have researched how to decalcify my pineal gland; made a veggie curry; eaten a little naughty chocolate then baked and ate five buns to satisfy my munchies. Planned on walking my dog but then burnt the tortillas and had to open the kitchen window for the smoke, felt the clap cold and thought, fuck that! I did venture into the garden to the bins and left footprints in the snow though, I will be going back to work anytime so I intend to enjoy the rest of my time off doing everything that I cant do when I am back on the corporate ladder.

I fully intend to do something that involves at least moving past the back gate tomorrow - weather permitting. Posted by Victoria Ward at Tuesday, 26 September Hell. I was privy to some aspects of the female mind that are endearing, and others that are quite puzzling.

Jenna's erratic thoughts and actions are realistic from my knowledge about pregnancy, and are presented with intricate clarity. There are comical moments, fashioning a typical romantic comedy with scenes of great joy to periods of unadulterated humiliation: Subsequently, she would shout at someone with pure ferocity over the most trivial situation and question her sanity in hindsight.

The character design is intriguing - increasingly in media and fiction, there is a common dynamic emerging, pertaining to individuals who have dreadful relationships with their parents. Jenna and her mother aren't simply a clash of personalities — there is a strong disdain extended from daughter to mother and possibly vice versa, but with the mother subtly and 'unwittingly' chipping away at her daughter's self-esteem. Although delivered with comedy, this contributed to the gritty British realism in the book.

On the contrary, there are aspects that could utilise improvement. After reading a fair amount of the book, the reader may recognise a formula fitting the structure of the plot that fails to evolve. Like any review of literature, this relies on reader preference.

Friday Strangeday - Jenna

Many will enjoy a routine in a book like this, but others will favour diversity and a sense of progression that emerges with variety. Arguably, what would have been more effective, is the use of this formula as a template supporting the entire book as opposed to a repeated cycle. One prevailing question I did have throughout the book was regarding the novelty of its conclusion, which was met with slight disappointment. It remained consistent with the comical and cringe-worthy tone of the character's experiences, but it appeared abrupt. I also found that the exclamation mark was used in excess, which basically killed its effectiveness in the story.

Summarily, it was an entertaining read, providing audiences with comic hyperbole in the face relationship breakup and pregnancy. Sep 28, Cherie rated it liked it. Jenna finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her the same day she finds out she's pregnant. She decides to make the best of it and go through the pregnancy solo with the help of her friends. This book had the potential to be great. It's funny and the characters each had very distinct personalities. It was easy to read and kept me interested and entertained throughout. I loved her friend Sara despite her aggressive tendencies.

Unfortunately, it's potential is not completely realized. Jenna, Jenna finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her the same day she finds out she's pregnant. Jenna, the main character, is a little bit over the top. She gets herself into ridiculous situations and quite often has diarrhea of the mouth.

She has no filter and just spews whatever nonsense comes into her head. At some points this is what makes the scene funny. At other points, I was cringing. There were also a lot of coincidences. That she keeps having embarrassing moments in front of the same lady got a little old by the end of the book.

Overall, this was entertaining. It definitely had some very funny and enjoyable moments and showed a "real" side of pregnancy where everything is not always glowing skin and happiness.

She shows the discomfort and the sometimes embarrassing side effects of a pregnancy in a humorous light. It showed how clueless some women really are until they're actually going through a pregnancy. I found myself snorting with laughter at some of her preconceived notions. Really, this book's saving grace is that it's funny. This book is in the same vein as Bridget Jones. This is what I imagine Bridget Jones would be like if she were pregnant. If you enjoy that type of sincerity and humor then give this one a look. Oct 15, Ruty B rated it really liked it Shelves: Jenna is a woman in her thirties who just has found out that she is pregnant and that her boyfriend is cheating on her.

If you think nothing else could go wrong well let me say that is just the beginning.

What is Kobo Super Points?

A hilarious book that will introduce you into the mind of a peculiar woman. Written like a journal, the book tells the nine month of pregnancy of Jenna well, actually less because she found out that she was expecting in her 18th week. It has a rough start because it seems only a list of event Jenna is a woman in her thirties who just has found out that she is pregnant and that her boyfriend is cheating on her.

It has a rough start because it seems only a list of event or thoughts that help to set you in the time and place. Luckily when she discovers that is expecting a child and dumps her boyfriend, the fun begings. Of course, if you are not too fond of English humor you may not like it that much.

But I love the irony, the black humor and the laugh of the bad sides of life. There are situations when I was wondering if she was for real or how can anybody act like this. But I ended up loving her and eager to see how thing would work out. Sarah has serious issues. I mean… I know that a bad childhood can leave big sequels but she is really damaged. The worst part is that she feels real, you can picture her and I know that there is people out there just like her. This is a fun, fast and original book. If you enjoy sarcasm, irony, and a different story you may want to give this book a chance.

I recieved an ecopy from the author in exchange for an honest review Mar 23, Ashley rated it it was amazing. I absolutely loved this book! It was a bit different then what I'm used to as this was written from the perspective of "Jenna Jaghe" sort of a diary format and takes place in England I was kind of confused with some of the lingo in some places, but can't hold that against anyone! I laughed my behind off so much in this book. My husband kept looking at me like I'd lost my mind.
