Baby's First 100 Days

He is a Indian leader from Colorado. It is a fun, adventure reading these books. I still want to go back and read book one of the series. I was given this ebook to read and asked in return to give honest review of it by NetGalley and Cedar Fort. Aug 15, Julie Prince rated it it was amazing. I read the ARC of this book which was given to me by the author.

ARCs are always a bit rough around the edges, I was surprised that the story flowed as well as it did. I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion and it's obvious that Bostick continues to improve as a writer with each subsequent book. What makes this a quality series is that each book stands on its own. Having been r I read the ARC of this book which was given to me by the author. Having been raised in the southwest, I've heard tales of golden cities all my life. Even one of the National Treasure movies was about the city.

The funny thing is, it's actually conceivable.

Blog Tour: Huber Hill and the Golden Staff of Cibola

Book 2 really set up the story and I was eager to find out what happened to Huber, his friends and how they'd overcome the Brotherhood of Coronado and Salazar. The story contains a few more supernatural elements than its predecessors, but it's not a bad thing; it adds another level of excitement to the finale. How could you not love a book about a hidden city and a staff that turns whatever it touches to gold. It made me think of the Midas Touch, one of my all time faves.

I believe this book contains a subtle message if you're looking for it. The real treasures in life are your family, friends, and making the most of our time with them. Those who spend their lives seeking material gain at any cost become cold, unmoving statues, frozen in their progress just like the people in the story who were corrupted and changed by the Golden Staff of Cibola. Reward Yourself

This one did not disappoint. My 12 year old said it was awesome and one of the best books he has read in a while. I read it quickly, as an adult might, since it is written for the young audience, but I was not bored at any point and it was not as predictable as a 3rd in a series has the potential to be. You definitely need to have read the previous books in the series to know the characters and their stories.

The story moves along at a These books are fun, suspense filled series of adventures. The story moves along at a good clip, maybe a bit too fast in a few spots but still kept my interest. I would recommended this book for the age group. Jul 12, Amanda rated it liked it. This was hands-down my favorite book in the series. Although you have to suspend your disbelief a little about some of the traps and locations here, I still think it was the most fun of the books to read, as well as the easiest to get into. And, I liked that the puzzles they had to solve were physical as well as cerebral; I imagine it's the kind of book I would have really enjoyed as a younger reader.

The flow was better than the previous two books and I thought it was a well-planned conclusion to Huber, Hannah, and Scott's adventures! Sep 04, Nan rated it really liked it. Great story for middle readers.

The story moves at a pretty good pace. I haven't read the others in the series, but I don't think it was necessary for this story. It can be read as a stand alone story. I would recommend this book and think that students would enjoy it as well. What research did you do for the story? I minored in Spanish at the University of Utah. It was there I learned about the rich history of Spain and its provinces. In my teaching career, I was able to teach at a Spanish Academy. Many of the teachers there were from Spain. I learned much about their culture and history through them. In particular, many of the teachers I worked with hailed from Salamanca- the city of Cervantes and one of the oldest universities in the world. It is a city rich with history and secrets. Don Quixote is also one of my favorite stories, so I tried my best to pay honor to Spain and the city of Salamanca in particular.

I love how you took the Spanish culture and incorporated it into the story. Huber Hill is a boy caught in a deadly conflict. How did you balance his youth and thirst for adventure with the leadership roles he needs to take on and fear over what he's gotten into? Huber definitely transitions in this story from being a victim with something to prove in book one to being more of a leader in book two. He has survived the terrifying ordeal with the Dead Man's Treasure and is now confident in his ability to solve problems and face danger.

It has been fun to watch him mature and progress. That said, he is still young and feels fear, but is able to overcome it for the sake of others. Relationships play a large role in the story from family to love to friendship. Some we don't find out about until near the end, though they've been there all long. My favorite aspect of the characterization was the relationships that the children formed with each other and those around them.

How did you go about developing these ties? I believe that in a story, relationships are everything. When I think about great stories like Harry Potter, I instantly think about the relationships between the characters more than the adventures themselves. Relationships are something we all have in common.

The more rich and complex they are, the more invested I am in the story and it characters. If all a story has is explosions and special effects, no character development or relationships, it becomes boring pretty quick. There are many plot twists in this book. What did you most enjoy setting up?

Huber Hill and the Golden Staff of Cibola

It's funny because some of the biggest twists in the story didn't happen until I was writing it, so they surprised me too. I figured if they surprised me, they'd surprise the reader as well. I certainly wasn't expecting some of the things that happened to take place! I saw that, like Huber, you went treasure hunting with your friends.

What would you have done if you found something? If we would've found something, we probably wouldn't have told anyone. What are you working on right now? K Bostick's Website Facebook Twitter.
