It is a lovely romance novel filled with magic and the message that finding a soul mate knows no boundary of time. Sophie time travels from the future to the past at the exact moment that she wishes her life to be different. At the same time that she appears in the past, a 12 year old girl turns up by her side and they are found by Gabriel who is himself on the verge of ending his life.

This is the period after the civil war and true to his time he is a strong believer in God I loved this story. This is the period after the civil war and true to his time he is a strong believer in God and a follower of principles. Finding the two girls he takes them in going against the way of society and inviting a lot of criticism. This story deals with how each character faces their troubled thoughts and learn to accept and realise who they really are.

Sophie names the girl Angela and finds a kind of connection with her even though the girl refuses to speak. There is something mysterious about her which will cause the reader to keep questioning her existence until the very end. Through a lot of ups and downs, Sophie and Gabriel end up getting married as Gabriel says its the right thing to do since Sophie is living in his house.

Eventually the two of them realise that they love each other but it takes Sophie travelling back to the future for them too truly realise how much their love has grown. When Gabriel turns up in the future, it proves that love knows no boundaries of time. The truth about Angela is revealed eventually and will leave the reader shocked.

A wonderful second book in the Tennessee Waltz series, this is as heart warming as the first. The reader will feel the pain and the love of each character through their journey of discovery and hats off to the author for making that possible. The characters are well thought out and though not perfect, they are easy to relate to making the reader believe that they truly exist in the world created by the author.

The author describes the setting and places with the right amount of detail making it easy to imagine it all. Aug 30, Cassandra rated it it was amazing Shelves: Every word captures all my attention. Kiss Me, I'm Irish, Emily time traveled to the future to escape being sent to a convent. In Book 2, Kiss Me, I'm Yours, Sophie time travels to the past to get away from the reality of her sucky cheating boyfriend.

Both stories are the "can't put down" love, action, drama, fantasy type that every girl wants to read. Attacked as soon as she has been transported by what she thinks to be Civil War re-enactors, then rescued and taken in, cared for by the town outcast, Sophie has to come to the realization that she is in fact in another time I was just living the story, feeling all the emotions right along with Sophie and all the pain for Gabriel.

Rooting for them to be together the whole time, sad when she kept wanting to get back home, not realizing all along she belonged with him. The answer to her prayers was right in front of her. But, it has got to be tough, without the modern conveniences I can't wait to read Book 3: Kiss Me, I'm Home, and see what adventure is next. Aug 28, Patricia rated it really liked it Shelves: This was another interesting time travel book with romance and magic.

Toward the last half, the author had Merritt using modern words like trafficking slaves and several other modernisms. Boring, whiney heroine- boring story Aargh. I disliked the heroine so much. She spent the whole time whinging and whining. Apr 17, Holly J. I liked how this one ended.

I'm glad they found each other again. Since I like stories about olden times and time travel, I'm glad I found this book. Oct 22, Kathryn Svendsen rated it really liked it Shelves: Though this is the second book in the Tennessee Waltz series, I felt it could be read as a stand-alone novel. It is another lovely, clean romance novel by Bella Street. The book starts with Sophie in a totally distraught state, out with her friends Karen and Vicki, trying to drink away the memory of her boyfriend Kevin cheating on her.

Instea Though this is the second book in the Tennessee Waltz series, I felt it could be read as a stand-alone novel. Instead of going inside, she throws a rock at a window. Rather than hearing the smashing of glass, she sees a blinding flash of light. Suddenly she hears the voices of two men above her and realizes she must have passed out. When she opens her eyes, she sees that the men are wearing the uniforms of Yankee soldiers — they must be part of a Civil War re-enactment group. But they are planning on raping her! Sophie discovers she is in the year Gabriel meanwhile discovers that it is the girl who cut him down when he tried to kill himself.

He thought the girl arrived with the strangely-dressed woman he rescued. He takes both women in and sleeps in the barn.

  6. There is some swearing in the book however, which I mention for those who are sensitive to that. All Sophie wants to do is go home. She finds however, that she has to conform to at least some of the rules of the society of that era. Going about in public in her yoga outfit is a definite no-no. Instead, Gabriel provides some clothing from his dead sister-in-law that she has to alter because it is too short — it comes to her mid-shin.

She has to go to church, as does the rest of the small community. And she has to make a choice — marry Gabriel, or find someplace else to live. The problem is, most of the people in this town are hostile and the times are dangerous. She knows she is safe with Gabriel. And what about the silent child? Sophie has named her Angela. I really liked Gabriel. He is kind, gentle, and lives what he believes.

He asks Sophie to marry him so that she can continue to live at his home and not damage her reputation. He is willing to wait until she is ready for any intimacies since this is a marriage of convenience. This novel was a very engaging book. It has a different ending than I thought it might, but it was a very satisfying one. The end of this book also leads to a logical beginning for the third book of the series. Her descriptions are clear and vivid. I gave this book a rating of four stars out of five. Clean romance fans should love it!

Thank you to the author, Bella Street for providing a copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own. This time Sophie Bowen, a modern day yoga instructor, finds herself back in the post-civil-war era and not quite believing it. She's a modern girl used to modern conveniences and finds the life harsh and in many ways cruel. The only comfort she finds is in the GQ model gorgeous farmer, Gabriel Merritt who rescues her and takes her in.

Gabriel is a man ahead of his time in his beliefs and ideology, he is a christian man who believes all men are created equal and should be treated with the same respect, which has earned him nothing but shunning and the loss of his position as the local minister. When Sophie suddenly appears, along with an even more mysterious twelve year old girl they call Angela, Gabriel believes fate has sent her for him and quickly falls in love with her, unlike Sophie who takes a little bit of time to accept her new circumstances so she can realize how much Gabriel has come to mean to her.

They go through some real serious trials and dangers through which they come to love and depend on each other. Sophie learns what it's like to be loved and valued by an honestly caring man and realizes just how lucky she was to escape her relationship back in her time with her deadbeat and cheating boyfriend. Kiss Me, I'm Yours was an exciting story that kept my interest with a little bit of everything I loved how well developed the characters were. We learnt a lot about both the main characters, Gabriel, whose life was full of pain and hurt, and Sophie, who leaves behind her cheating ex-boyfriend [review also posted on my blog at http: We learnt a lot about both the main characters, Gabriel, whose life was full of pain and hurt, and Sophie, who leaves behind her cheating ex-boyfriend to face the struggles of inadvertently travelling back in time to The more I learnt about Sophie and Gabriel, the more it made me root for them and this in turn really helped me enjoy the story.

I thought the story was probably slightly more enjoyable than book one in the trilogy. The pacing then worked well for the rest of the book without rushing the story. I also liked the intrigue of the silent girl Sophie called Angela, and the small twists throughout the story always kept it entertaining. Aug 31, Shawn rated it it was amazing Shelves: I always love Bella Street's novels and I had no doubt this one would be right up there with the others.

Tennessee Waltz Series by Bella Street

Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Kiss Me I'm Yours is the second in a trilogy that revolves around time travel and finding love. After reading Books 1 Kiss Me I'm Irish and 2, I felt the second was even stronger than the first and did a much better job of showing the emotional side and connection between the main characters. Here we have the story of Gabriel and Sophie.

A third character, a young girl that doesn't speak who Sophie names Angela also plays a large role throughout the book. Instead of going forward in time like Book 1, the main character, Sophie, gets to travel back in time from present day Nashville to Nashville, Sophie is an ambitious young woman who has opened up a yoga studio and trying to make a go of it. She has friends and family, but is unlucky in love and has just broken up with her loser boyfriend.

After a night of intense drinking with her girlfriends, she goes to her ex's apartment to give him the what for when she inadvertently goes through a time portal and finds herself with a bump on her head, lying in a field she doesn't recall, and is about to be raped by two men. Gabriel, who is in the midst of hanging himself due to his severe depression is first rescued by a young girl he's never met, then upon hearing Sophie's screams, is able to run the guys off before anything happens.

Just as Emily, from Book 1, finds herself living with Liam and Tinker because they are the first people she meets, Sophie finds herself back at Gabriel's home because she doesn't know anyone else and is completely out of her element. Sophie and the young girl immediately bond even though Sophie nor Gabriel know where she came from and they become an instant "family" as they try to figure out what to do next. Unlike Emily, who lived in England, then found herself in Tennessee, Sophie actually lives in modern day Nashville, so when she's back in , she knows the area, landmarks, etc.

It's funny to see her totally convinced she's in some type of reality show and everyone around her is an actor. Even trying to get back to downtown Nashville she can't believe the capital is "brand new" and the interstate she drives on everyday is nothing but a dirt road. I enjoyed the background information regarding Tennessee and its view of the Civil War as well as how residents in the area Gabriel lives regarded the war. As in the first book, the reader gets a sense of what it would be like to really live in that time period, i.

She lands back in late summer so without any air conditioning, the chance to regularly bathe or deodorant, it makes life a bit uncomfortable. Add in the heavy layers of clothing she has to wear to look respectable and one can only wonder how more people didn't die of heatstroke. The scenes where she's teaching Gabriel yoga moves and giving him massages are cute as well as believable.

She also brings modern into the past, such as utilizing specific items to create hygiene and housecleaning products she saw used on Martha Stewart or described on the Internet. The fact that Gabriel starts to employ some of them on his own makes it even more endearing. Both books in the series are very tame in terms of romance but unlike book 1, I felt Gabriel's character was strongly developed. He was a minister pre-Civil War and after going to war and losing his church, he is working on his late brother's tobacco farm even though he has no interest in farming.

He has lost his family and is really struggling emotionally. His faith in God is all but gone. The appearance of Sophie and Angela are a hindrance on the one hand, due to the social taboos and pressures of having unmarried, unrelated females living with a single man, yet, on the other hand, he feels he's been given his life back when Sophie enters it and very quickly can't imagine living without her. The reader senses the love Gabriel has for Sophie and Ms. Street's ability to convey that emotion with just a look or a few words makes your heart ache for Gabriel as he tries to make Sophie love him enough to stay in his time.

You also feel for Sophie as she only wants to go home, yet she grows to love Gabriel and knows what a good and genuine person he is. The type of man she wouldn't hesitate to be with if she found him in The conclusion of the storyline has some twists and turns.

    Buy for others

Time travel books are always iffy for me as I like to see the main characters together; not some bogus descendant or the reincarnation of someone's soul. I breathed a sigh of relief when this didn't happen. While both books are connected by the thinnest of threads, that thread is strong enough to make you want to read the third installment. You don't necessarily have to read the first, however, to enjoy the second.

Bella Street has now gone on my list of authors to watch for and I can't wait for Book 3 to see how the storyline of certain characters will be resolved. I always love Bella Street's novels and I had no doubt this one would be right up there with the others.

Street has a natural skill for story-telling. She can transport you, steel your heart, and educate you all before you even know what hit you. Her stories have such depth and tangibility-they're downright genius. Kiss Me, I'm Yours is a developing love story between two lost souls. Some more lost than others Sophie finds herself in the wrong century and Gabriel finds himself at the end of his rope.

    Kiss Me, I'm Yours

Only in each other can they manage to make sense of all of it, and just in the nick of time. I loved the characters and the gradual build up of these characters' stories and struggles. I was fully engrossed and completely swept up in a relationship that was forged out of convenience but grew to be much more. Street has a story telling ability and flavor all her own. I wouldn't even know what book to compare it to. All I can do is to highly recommend it!

One person found this helpful. I liked this book even better than "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" and that one was great. I appreciated all the faults of Sophie and Gabriel. This increased the tension and longing to see the two together. The descriptions, social norms and society was intriguing. I'm thankful the author did not romanticise the late Civil War; nor draw political conclusions behind the war.

There were truely no winners. This was wonderful story full of heart stopping action, melting words and actions from a true gentleman. A woman who cares and assists all, no matter their stance in life. You will not be sorry! Cannot wait for "Kiss Me, I'm Home".

Can't say enough good things about Bella Street's stories. After reading Kiss Me I'm Irish, immediately ordered the next two books in the series.
