Coheed used to be my absolute favorite band but over the years I kinda drifted away from them. But SSTB has remained a favorite of mine for more than a decade now. Such a beautifully made, yet raw sounding album. That opening kick of Time Consumer, after the instrumental intro, is just perfect. The progression through that song is awesome. Pretty much the first song they wrote as Coheed, and still one of my favorites.
The Crowing is my favorite song out of any band. It's like 3 songs for the price of one that all mix into a single giant climax with a ton of emotion throughout. And those guitars, mmm.
A personal favorite is Here We Are Juggernaut. The acoustic version has so much more emotion. When his voice breaks on "heart," I hurt for him. That, my friend, isn't weird or bad at all. I've broken about 8 strings tuning my acoustic to Esus4 just to cover this, as it's one of my favorite songs to cover ever: Always a lot of cool Coheed shit on there I wish, God damn it, we'll make it if you believe! Everything Evil is NOT neglected! My absolute favourite, though, is The Crowing.
The Light and The Glass is incredible too - I think that for people just getting into Coheed it's a great song, because it's so varied. Well you clearly missed that last tour. They did Number City right into Gravity's Union. It was pretty awesome. The Writing Writer was my favorite song for a very long time. It only slipped from that number one spot because I made the mistake of using it as a ringtone while holding a job that required taking multiple phone calls a day.
How about more of their songs like Time Consumer, or Faint of Hearts, or all of them If you're used to Godiva you might think that a Snickers is rubbish even though normally you would like a Snickers. It's only bad by Coheed standards IMO. I'd still rather listen to YotBR than a lot of other things out there. Yeah, when you get used to their other stuff Black Rainbow seems like it was made by a completely different band if not for Claudio's vocals. It took a while for me to like it. Luckily The Afterman was a triumphant return to their usual sound.

Look up the backstory to Far and Pearl of the Stars. There are still some really great songs on that CD. Id actually prefer to listen to it as a whole than SSTB. Every time I listen to one of their albums I pick a new favorite. It's honestly just so hard to choose which of their many songs is the best. They all have their own genius. I was there too! When the top of the stage started billowing out huge Black clouds of smoke, looked awesome.
Look up their Neverender shows. Probably the best live shows they've ever done imo. There were no covers, it's all coheed, first 4 albums in 4 nights. It was all Coheed fans and everybody knew the lyrics.

They did a tour a couple of years ago to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of SSTB where they played the entire album. Great show, they basically did 3 sets that night: One of the best shows I've ever seen. I saw them live a couple years back when they toured with Linkin Park and this was how they opened the show. The great thing is that there's so much better than this in their discography.

I could go on and on, but if you enjoy this song, I would highly recommend checking these ones out. Coheed's discography is pretty much flawless and they're my favorite band. I actually first heard it from the previews of that movie nine, that post apocalyptic puppet movie? Anyway, I fell in love right away and dig deeper. But I know what you mean, they have so much more! There's a reason that Welcome Home is their encore song for every goddamned show they play. It takes away from their live shows for me. I've been a huge Coheed fan for a long time - they've meant a lot to me on a personal level and how my music tastes developed as a teenager I don't listen to them much anymore - like to time-capsule them so to speak.
There is a reason why it didn't make the SSTB cut, its a pretty piss poor song compared to the rest of their released catalogue. Its just the song 'real' fans mention to command a sense of importance within discussion. Its basically impossible to have an internet thread on Coheed without someone chipping in with this bloody song. Thanks to Rock Band. Don't get me wrong, its fucking awesome that they actually got to be included on that game, but I just wish more people knew that there is so much more to this band than that song.
All their music in fact! The Amory Wars is so good. Are you talking about his comics? Don't get me wrong, I have all their stuff and they're one of my favorite bands, but I've heard that his comics are just abysmal. I personally love them. I can see how it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think the story is very interesting. The story pays homage to a lot of different popular sci fi stories, but with its own twist on things, not to mention a lot of very original ideas.
And with the release of the Afterman albums, he added a new, different story to the universe that makes it that much more rich. The comics aren't fantastic. Claudio's a musician far before he is a writer. But they're fun and it's neat to be like "lul amory wars". One of the best live shows I have ever seen. I got to see them play Second Stage in its entirety a few years ago. One of the most intense shows I've ever been to.
Welcome at DOKOŘÁN
I'll make you wish you had been burned a time before, and I'll live through this in a manner cursed in my own accord. And I don't want to think of youuooouauaaaa, no girl I don't want to think of you anymoreaaaa. Same album, better song: This is one of the few bands that no matter how shitty my day is I'll immediately feel better when they come on. Coheed is one of my absolute favorite bands!

I saw them with iron maiden in August last year and I have to say the afterman is probably one of the greatest stories I've heard. Cannot agree more about the story. I got the afterman triangle symbol tattooed on my wrist because I one day hope to be able to portray a story so beautifully and seamlessly through music.
It acts as a motivator for me. Much love for Claudio. I caught the same tour, it was amazing! I was so happy for the guys, it must have been a huge honor to play with their heroes. Fiction lines cover various topics and genres. Most successful is the line of poetry "Mocca", the lines of modern novels and the commercial fiction take its shape.
