Customer reviews
The author is slightly over-confident. It would have taken me a couple of weeks to gather the book's gamification know-how from free sources on the internet, so I appreciate very much the book's price and the good quality of the know-how in the book. You'll learn little more from this short self-published text than from browsing the internet. Marczewski doesn't seem to have any formal training or experience in game-studies or game-design, and his take on the subject is a clear example of the simplistic view on games and human psychology that pervades the area.
That being said, the little "book" it's only about 30 normal pages can give anyone a nice view of what "gamification" means to layman-practitioners.
In that way, it's an interesting image of the state of affairs anno , which some might find useful. But you will find nothing here, that isn't already out there in hundreds of also self-published blogs. Top rated Most recent Top rated.
