I have yet to find one that doesn't have a terribly lopsided view on science or some lack of consistency. My problems with this book were the ridiculous misogyny, fat-shaming, the wishy-washy approach to what are hard lines and what are left up to the intuition of the magician, and the narrative style.

Savedow loses a lot of his power in attempting to "write for beginner" but many of the points I'm starting to feel like every book on this subject is going to get no more than three stars from me. I was able to glean useful information by reading with an open third eye, wakeful mind, and skeptical approach. I'm glad I own it because it truly is a workbook, meant to be read through once and then referenced for years afterward. This book is for the serious pursuer of magickal power, and if you are one of them, do not read it by itself. I'd recommend accompanying it with works of science and studies of feminist spirituality, particularly the books "The Dance of the Dissident Daughter" by Sue Monk Kidd and "Magic and Witchcraft" by Nevill Drury.
