In this series View all Book 3. Ratings and Reviews 5 23 star ratings 5 reviews. Yes No Thanks for your feedback! I loved the first book Blood Destiny but, Blood Awakening blew me away. The characters are easy to get invested in, you really get to know them on a more intense level in this book. The story flows effortlessly off the page and there are several instances where the author infused humor into really intense situations making me laugh out loud, which I loved.
From my experience with books, the second book in a lot of series is just kinda eh. So, I went into this book not expecting the greatness that was in the first book, Blood Destiny. Holy cow, was I wrong!! I thought I loved Marquis in the first book, on my, I simply fell in love with him in this book. So well written, and just all around awesome. I also really started to love the Dark Ones.
Boy are they bad!! Thank you Tessa for another outstanding read!! What's not to love about a vampire who can hold his own weight as well as his kingdoms all the while wooing albeit it uncomfortably his chosen. Simply sensational I have read this book over and over.

This book has so many twists and turns, plots, lethal fight scenes and downright intense love scenes. The Author Tessa Dawn is a master at making you want more, of making you want to know what is going to happen next. No doubt that this book is 5 stars. I have read many books with Vampires in them but never like these Vampires. They are intense, dark, sexy as hell and make you want more. It is wise for their human destinies their women to remember that Vampires are not human….
They are Warriors, Sentinels, Wizards, and Healers. A powerful force to be reckoned with!!!! Happy reading … Show more Show less. Dark Fantasy not Romance, Vampires with bite and a world so real you will want to look for on the map This was better than the first book The story line was great, the action captivating and the twists unexpected. So looking forward to the next book in the series. Love the characters and the plot. This is the second book in a long running series that, so far, promises to be five star all the way!
I found myself wanting to hear the whole book in one sitting, and that's just what I tried to do. I could not wait to get back to my computer so I could continue the story. This one tells you more about the oldest brother, Marquis Silivasi, who is just plain serious about everything! He has sacrificed his own happiness to keep his younger brothers safe, that is until his true "destiny", his perfect mate, is revealed to him.
Then, all hell breaks loose! He is almost betrayed by their arch enemies the dark ones.

Of course he and his brothers are able to prevail and he is united with his love. The only part of the story that got my nerves was when Marquis has to submit himself to the sinister forces, that he scarificed the dark twin to, as atonement for the sins of his forefathers. He almost gives his life for something he was not guilty of in the first place. It takes all his family, including his dead brother and a God, to pull him back from the brink of no return.
Why was I so upset Well he had gone over a thousand years and then he gives up? I wanted to smack him! All in all the book was a great listen and well worth the price. He knows how to bring each character to life! For me this book is another five star rating. Can't wait for the next book! I love to read and I have done so to the detriment of my eye sight…. The next hurdle I found myself in was finding great stories read by really good narrators. I would love it if I found more woman narrators that could read some of my favorite stories with the same punch and slam dunk as narrators like Phil Gigante, or Jim Frangione…but unfortunately I find many of their narration performances to be..
Breathy, flat and missing the mark in the art of pausing because the story calls for it, and not because there is a coma on the page. It has made me cringe and turn off many awesome stories I have already read and hoped would be a great listen. I have listened to Eric Dove do J. I am not going to waste time telling the premise of the story, because others have already done that. I will say that I have laughed, cried and been pissed off at some of the characters as if I was sitting in front of a screen watching this crazy story play out.
It is a combination of good writing and great narration….. I cannot wait until another one is released. Dawn and Eric Dove…. There are not many narrators who can read a story so well that they make you forget about the person reading the story and transport you into the story.

Jump on this series you will love it. What did you love best about Blood Awakening? This is the second audiobook by Tessa Dawn that I am enjoying immensely. I simply cannot get over how full of life this title is; how the audio experience really "fleshes out" both the story and characters. Even if you have read Blood Awakening via ebook or hardcopy which I have , this audiobook brings an entirely new experience to one's ears!
Nathaniel from Blood Destiny, audiobook 1 is simply a vampire's and human's dream. But Marquis is seemingly invincible, which also makes him very appealing. To be fully truthful, there are NO characters which I did not enjoy, throughout the entire span of the Blood Curse Series. Which character — as performed by Eric G.
- Blood Awakening.
- Bluegrass Songbook: Guitar Play-Along Volume 77.
- God’s Laws of Communication.
- Author Tessa Dawn BLOOD AWAKENING: Dark Fantasy/Gothic Romance Novels?
- What is Kobo Super Points?.
- ;
- Death of a Foster Child (Rick Podowski and The Hefty Trio Book 5).
Dove — was your favorite? I love his interpretation of Marquis but they are all simply amazing. He did a fabulous job of narration and he must have done his homework! If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be? What if it took a vampire to truly embrace your humanity?
Tessa is an unusually gifted author. She uses words as a painter would use the various gradients of color. Her books are stunning pieces of literary art. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? Tessa Dawn has made her Blood Curse series a masterpiece by stepping outside the box, yet keeping true to the vampire lore we have all come to know. As some might want to call them, "an old Fang Book with a new Bite". Tessa also helps the reader reflect and remember what has gone before with a short opening reliving the original "Blood Curse" and the last few paragraphs of the previous book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Awakening? The idea that a Vampire can be so beautiful and loving, yet also a deadly menace when it comes to family and loved ones is thrilling.

First off, I love the world Tessa has created with this series, and Marquis is my favorite character. I read through the series last month and hurried through them because I was impatient to see what would happen. Now, I am reading them again to really enjoy the book without the OMG what's going to happen.
With Tessa, you never know. I've read a few of the other reviews. The ones that ranted about the killing of infants Tessa makes it very clear throughout the series that the babies born to the Dark Ones are pure evil. Given the chance, they will kill anyone. It is not like she has them killing human infants that are innocent, and that is what some people tried to compare this to I think. I am extremely sensitive to that, and while I did wince at the brutality in the story, it wasn't because they eradicated pure evil.
I do have to agree that I think she got thrown to the wolves a bit in her character. But, she had a good working relationship with Marquis before. When she is introduced, Kristina completely trusted Marquis. At first I thought Kristina was going to be an interesting sideline character to the story.
Tessa is excellent at weaving the stories together. Suddenly, we're blindsided by Kristina turning almost feral and trying to kill Marquis over a low life that was trying to kill her. Why would she try to kill him and be so downright mean to him all of the sudden? It made many readers hate her, and not buy the author trying to redeem her later in the story. Kristina had the potential to be an outstanding character, but the way she behaved has tainted her. I really think their differences could have been done in a way that didn't make everyone dislike Kristina so much.
The last scene where Marquis helps her to finally feel like she is not worthless could have had so much more impact if the readers didn't dislike her so much. I think this might be my favorite book in the series. As with my previous review of book 1, this series contains subjects that are not for everyone. All of the scenes that contain these subjects are integral in telling the story though and did not bother me at all. Although Marquis is not my favorite Light Vampire, I loved the telling of his story.

Especially with the plot twists throughout the book. I also really liked how the author portrayed his mate.
