EXODUS, the first book, has been well received and the next installment is due out by the beginning of Publication Data Country of Publication. Homebody by Joanna Gaines , Hardcover 2. How Ramel ties into the story, I cannot spoil for you, but I can tell you this: You start the story of Frederick Duval, a plantation owner's son, and the love that he held for a slave.
You continue with Kaya and Aisha, two women in Metro New York who are so immersed in the occult that they are risking their lives for the path that they take. More than intricate and fascinating, these characters are, above all, refreshingly relatable. You can relate to their struggles and feel as though you know them or people like them, whether they are vampire or witch. The action is just, simply, nonstop. You cannot put the book down. Yes, I missed subway stops reading this book.

Yes, I lost sleep. For a story as intricate and action-packed as this, I would gladly do it again, and again, and one more time after that. One person found this helpful. I was so sure I posted a beautifully eloquent review of this already It's pretty damn good.

Plantation owner falls in love with slave and sacrifices his eternal soul--becoming what he despises vampire --so he can hunt down the creature who murdered her. Fast forward a hundred years or so, and he's killing everything that goes "blaahh" in the night. With an upcoming eclipse the vampires will be vulnerable and are in need of a "Conductor" to lead them to the safety of their hidey hole. With the big-dog original blood Vamps dropping dead, there is an additional sense of urgency involved as the modern vampires see their "gods" disappearing one by one.
In the midst of all this uncertainty, one vampire wants all the power for himself, and another will kill everything in his path to get to him. With our main character poor little human girl trapped in a whirlwind of vampire assassins, vampire hunters, vampires from the days of the bible, witches, napoleonic drug dealers, evil power-drunk former-slaves, etc etc etc Eache with their own agenda, there is a whole lot of story going on here.
It took an occasional reread to be sure I was catching everything but with so much left undone, I'm looking forward to book 2. I'm not the spoiler type so I'm not going to get too much into the plot.
Content Types
It's good and you should really check it out. This book has typos. A LOT of typos. Aside from that the story was fantastic and had me into it from the beginning. It was suggested by a friend with the warning that it wasn't going to be like many other vampire stories I read and it wasn't. A lot went into character development and when you read it you'll see what I mean.
I got angry at some of the decisions that were made and there was no complete black and white emotion to be had here. You may start out disliking a character, like Victor, and end up thinking he's OK. Keep track of everything you watch; tell your friends. Full Cast and Crew.
