And then I have to decide. Long after Angus and the Danaan folk had retreated behind the veil of invisibility, it happened that the steward of his palace had a daughter born to him whose name was Ethne. In time Ethne grew into a fair and stately maiden. One very hot day the daughter of Mananan went down to bathe in the waters of the Boyne, and Ethne and her other maidens along with her. After they had refreshed themselves in the cool, amber-coloured water, they arrayed themselves in their silken robes and trooped back to the Brugh again; but ere they entered it, they discovered that Ethne was not among them.

Baba Indaba translates as "Father of Stories". It is believed that folklore and tales are believed to have originated in India and made their way overland along the Silk and Spice routes and through Central Asia before arriving in Europe. Even so, this does not cover all folklore from all four corners of the world.

Indeed folklore, legends and myths from Africa, Australia, Polynesia, and some from Asia too, are altogether quite different and seem to have originated on the whole from separate reservoirs of lore, legend and culture. Black, Brown and Gray, or Dubh, Dun and Glasan, is the story of three men who seek service with Fin MacCumhail and become so beloved of Fin that he calls them his sons. The protagonist is Fear Ruadh, who also seeks service with Fin for no wages but a promise from Fin. Just what is the promise and how will it affect Fin and the Fenians?
