Many were just like her, with no resources and no support. Sitting in that waiting room, Nadya knew ENLC could provide her and her baby with the assistance they needed, but she still had doubts. So, she scheduled a second appointment with Planned Parenthood. This time for an abortion. Instead, she lay there, looking at the clock on her wall as the hours slowly ticked by.

About Us – Elizabeth's New Life Center

The first part of the book is clearly written in the same slightly confusing style as the previous book. It does improve with the perspective becoming much clearer when the ladies arrive at the new colony. Elizabeth Prowley is still a difficult character to get to like but she is a proud and strong woman, and her adaption to her new life makes her more likeable. Her wild nature nearly causes her to loose all her great gains, her caring and generous husband and her young babe.

At the last minute justice prevails and she is spared the noose. The characters that were introduced in the first book are developed well and the loathesome traits of the Gypsy expanded. It is easy for the reader to be drawn into the tale to see how each person finds their way in the new world. Mary being the founder of Gold Coast Writers is to be applauded for her efforts after losing her husband and moving back to England she has written and had both books published.

She continues to write and has other projects on the go.

What an inspiration to all our members. Mar 25, Nancy rated it really liked it. I can picture this book as a memoir written by someone who lived through these times.

But they hadn't expected the totally undeveloped country, nor that the men would have to spend the first two weeks erecting tents and temporary buildings.

The day the women were allowed onshore, there was sexual debauchery and mayhem, but Elizabeth Powley, the original gang-leader, had no intention of joining in, knowing she was pregnant. The father may have been the Irish convict she'd loved before he died, or the Captain of Marines she'd seduced in his cabin.
