Marie, I pretty much knew that's what you meant. I was giving you a bit of a hard time. I get a little playful when I'm happy. It's good to know what you're looking for. My husband and I seemed to both prefer newer homes, but for some reason never put that desire into words. We spent several months looking at older homes before we realized, "hey, we don't want to have to deal with some issues that come with older houses. Barb, we still have to undergo inspections from the city, but not from FHA.
That's what I was meaning. FHA can be a little strict about older homes, which is a good thing, I suppose. But since ours is new, we don't have to worry about them! Congrats to your friend, Sarah! Your scarf is looking great, by the way. What lucky girls you all are! I would love to have eyes that changed color. Mine are greyish blue and occasionally look more grey or more blue depending on my clothes, yet they are definitely one basic shade.
I have the same trouble. For years when I was asked for my eye color somewhere, I would ask the person needing the information what was the color of my eyes and then put that on the form or whatever. I have run the complete gamut of color, from hazel to blue to brown to gray to green to black. I have yet to have red eyes except in some photos. My opthomologist says my eye color will even vary between eyes depending on what color is around me at that time. He has had a good time and still does not have the answer I feel for you and Kierynn. You may have to just live with it like I am having to do!
Hope everyone has a nice day. So I must go about setting up a personal one Kip, good to 'see' you back on the forum again. I hope you are well on the road to recovery I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with 'chameleon' eyes Like make me feel like an alien why don't you! I also had a so called friend tell me that he thought my eyes where 'A Weird Colour' direct quote Oh well, at least I'm not alone Denise My eyes are a very definite dark brown. Only thing is they are that dark, that when I was younger, I had strangers coming to me in the stores to check whether my eyes had any colour or were just plain black.
And then they started discussing it with my mam Hey I was 8 years old I could speak too! But I think something changed, because allthough they are still dark, they aren't that close to black anymore.

Now my younger niece has the exact same problem My best guess to determine some-ones eyecolour when you have several is to take a very good look at said persons eyes while outside in the daylight most honest light and see which two colours are presented most. Make those two the "official" eyecolour.
Happy birthday to all the birthday pigs! Isn't an insult but a translated dutch expression, don't ask me why! And as for msn, I had my computer on the last days, but weren't behind it very much. I hope to catch some of you in chatt I'm a bit stressed and busy, can you tell? I actually shouldn't be here, but I came to tell everybody I saw dumbledore in a presentation somebody gave today He was in giant squid form.
He was also a bit dead, so maybe it was his cousin. BTW did I add every-one to msn? Its cold here and raining and they say there is a chance of snow Plus congrats on the new house.. Mare I'm not sure if you're on my msn but if you or anyone one else wants to add me its tlb hotmail. Can't wait for my own b'day.
Its 7 months away and I'm already excited! Yeah, I know, I'm wierd like that. Mare, I have the same problem too! I still don't know whether my eyes are a really dark brown or just plain black. Incidently, can people have black eyes? And finally, India still remains hot and sticky.
The weather is making me feel very sluggish. Where's winter when you need it? It will be so nice to talk with you. I enjoy reading yours post and it always puts a smile on my face. Don't work too hard Fawkes. Have a great day. I hope you have a lovely day Congrats to Becca on the bat mitzvah!
And congrats to Sherbie on finding a great house. My eyes are just boring dark brown, but can still be clearly distinguished from black. Sarah, your scarf looks great! I am so excited at the prospect of chatting with you!!!!!! I am online in the wee hours of the morning and on and off at night. AIM messenger screen name ArchetypeGds. I know the feeling.
Here is a hug and some chocolate. The house is coming up. Happy Birthday whoever is having one. May 2nd I will be an ageless 53 and I am so thrilled!

I love being alive. I want to live past l Lots of forum posting. Yesterday was a trying day for me can't be happy everyday but I am back up today Chiaojones, That scarf is coming girl. Veronika, I really enjoy chatting with you. You are so very cool. Guess you will have to disguise yourself as a "harry" to throw the "old ladies" off. Boop, Dustin looks so sweet in the new pic. Finally losing some of his newborn looks.
Whenever I have a bad day, like yesterday, I watch Queen of the Damned. I love it when Akasha sets people a flame. Helps me release my frustrations to watch her in action. It is a beautiful warm sunny day. I am in such a good mood. My yoga class is in trouble. The better my mood Have a beautiful day y'all!!!!! We were marking exams as part of our lab service, sitting across from each other. He'd read the answer, I'd tick off the exam paper.
We looked up at the same moment cue the romantic violins I froze--it made me soooo weird feeling to see this. Oh, he said flatly, "you noticed, huh? Sooner or later everyone does, and they get all strange. My crush on Steve was never quite the same. Naturally, I don't remember what he told me about the percent of people who have this condition of one eye a different color than the other or what it's called, but I sure hope the kids whose papers I was grading checked them very carefully that day.
It seems like we're a bunch who aren't satisfied with what we've got. Now, I see where it's more common than I thought!! Denise, I think the DMV just listed my eye color as hazel, cause they didn't what else to put there. Plus, isn't the color hazel a mixture of the other colors? So that might be why they used hazel as the color. Like we've said, she's going to really have fun when she gets older and can change her eye color like that. She can change her whole look with just a change of an outfit. Hey, here's hoping you have a fantastic birthday Weasley Wanna B!!!!
Had another day of chasing my tail I came back on for a quick read I'm actually in a very good mood Or the chocolate Hey I'll not knock it Plus I had an excellent yoga class last night I was able to go further in all the postures than I have ever done before Still no pain either unless its delayed pain Good news about the house Sherbie I bought a new house here last year Good luck with the bond thingy Sarah, I'm loving the scarf Right, home time methinks My birthday is coming up too, a week from today actually.
Practically everyone of my co-workers has a May birthday, it's a popular month. Wow, all this talk of changing eye color sounds really cool. I have regular blue eyes that do not match my outfits. I wish I had that mysteriously changing eye color. It's so hard to find a file that's not too large. Any other Blues fans out there! The first time I met him, he leaned over the table and asked "What color are my eyes?
In Norway we only have two official colors, blue and brown. To quote my science teacher, "There is no such thing as grey or green eyes! Green will always be listed as brown. Makes it very easy to know what to put on a drivers liesence, but can be a problem if you need to show an ID card to someone who does not agree that you have the claimed eye color. Happy birthday to all of us April Tauruses! My birthday is tomorrow! Hope you have a great one and that all of your wishes come true!!!! WE're planning a birthday bash at St. Mungoes FFF so come over and visit! Must be the Slytherin in her trying to get out.
My sister says that my eyes are too brown, too close together, and too far back in my head, and this is on a nice day. Happy birthday all you taurus's, bully for you. It's my birthday too, I didn't know we were birthday twins!! Have a great day! This is only 1 of 3 threads on this forum that I stay up with. Anyway, I just had to mention Does the Detroit Zoo still use elephant footprints to lead you through it? I used to visit it with my Grandparents. They lived in Berkley. I'm homesick now for the Detroit Zoo.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when I was younger. So here's a great big ol' birthday wish for you--may you know only laughter and joy on your day. May your whole day be filled with great friends and a bunch of wonderful memories to cherish!!! They were a tad old and faded, but still there, yes! Blast, I had a nightmare last night involving a Nuclear Bomb, I'm putting the complete and total blame on your shoulders!
I only got two rows done on my scarf, but I bought a skirt today that will go perfectly with my whole "Hogwartzy" outfit. You can go take a very blurry look at me here. I had a birthday twin when I was in school. My friend Angie was nearly exactly 12 hours older than me. We went out together on our 21st birthday. It was fun hav: So far it's happened once in ten years. We went looking at houses tonight. It's okay, but I have an issue with the exterior.
I can't put my finger on it, but it's just a feeling. Finally, we got some good weather today. Happy day to all! Hopefully you will have it finished by June 4th!!!! I can't remember if that is your plans, but it will really fit in with the theme of PoA!! You're doing such a good job on it. Is this your first project in knitting? I can knit, but I've always wanted to learn how to crochet. My Mom who has been doing both since she was a little girl she's 84 now and of course has tried to teach me.
But for some strange reason I just can't get the hang of crocheting. Sure wish I could though, I can imagine so many projects that I could do if I only could pick it up. It's not physiologically impossible to die of heat you know! May you get lots of HP related products as presents! And don't tell me to stop being materialistic, you know you want them!
Snape is taking you out for a wonderful evening!!!!! I got to babysit Sunday for a while and he was so good. I hadn't seen him in 2 weeks, but he still doesn't look like he has grown any. Fawkes I can't wait until you get aim so we can talk, when I read your posts they always put a smile on my face. Everyone have a Great Day!! Hope you have a great day, and let me know of Severus forgets, I'll hit him with a book or something.
Gina - I hope Severus has a great surprise for you! Happy birthday to all who celebrated yesterday, today and the rest of April! Was there a electrical blackout when I wasn't looking? Sarcastic Ginny, many happy returns today. Gina, I am sure Severus has a nice Gothic type surprise present for you. I see him as Goth. If not, please severusly correct me.
Fawkes, Belated Top of the mornin to ya!!!!! So glad you enjoyed the chocolate. I can't have those dementors getting you down. I have a ton of errands to run today. But I don't have to start till noon. It is 87 degrees here Sorry, Draco all the Way, I know you are sick of the heat. But get this, first I have to go to the tanning salon for my intense uv vitamin D thing. I don't have time to lay in the sun the required 45 minutes.
PLus the tanning salon give me an even tan. Lady Arabella Prefect Posts: Definitely a chip off the ol' block!!! Though we've got some fantastic sunshine and it will be up in the lower 80's today, we've got some MORE rain moving in tonight!!!! I know April showers brings May flowers--but gosh with the amount of rain that we've had the past 2 weeks, it's going to drown the poor little things!!!
It's only "36" more days till PoA!!!! Many Happy Returns to Gina!! Hope you have a great day! Tell us all about it! Infact some people here say that people with coloured or light eyes are untrustworthy!!
I dread to think how it will be in May and June!! There have been a few showers in the last few days but it's all temporary Here in the south US it can get bitterly cold, but nothing like it does in the Northern states. May Severus and the Puddy Tats make your day complete. Sarcastic Ginny, have yourself a good birhday as well. Boop, the little one is a sweety keep up the good work. Chiaojones, did I see a "Burrow Street" on that map of Bellefonte, you have on your page, near the park, where the Meeting will be?
So there will be some Weasleys around Okay, so maybe Boop was a little how I pictured her. Whoops, I'm gonna get it for that one! I will be away from the computer tonight, chowing down on po'boys and hurricanes with some friends. Who knows, a certain enigmatic potions master might even pay a visit And there I went and thanked you on my LJ and everything. You must be somewhere in Louisiana if you are eating po'boys and drinking hurricanes. Boop was suprised to see just how many street names in her town she never noticed.
Just for you special Birthday people! And Mazal tov, Becca! Man, I feel as though I haven't been around in ages. Guess I've just been busy Man, my last two posts have been birthday-related, that's a record. Don't forget to stop over at St. Mungo's for a little birthday cheer. Blast, to answer your question many, many, many posts ago, the dig is in Sandusky, Ohio.
Had a fabulous time, and now I'm home not so ready to tuck into bed to go to work tomorrow Thanks again to everyone! This is just wonderful! I thought at least the rest of India would be there to suffer with me, but I guess I am all alone! DJEvans, It doesn't get all that cold here. We don't have very definite seasons. It's usually always humid but when it gets a bit cooler, we call it winter. We really don't have seasons like spring and fall, just a really hot summer and a relatively cool winter.
Exactly where do you live, DJEvans? I used to live in Nebraska and we used to have SO much snow! I used to hate it then, but now I miss it really badly! But Nebraska's midwest, so I guess the Northern states must get it really bad! Hope the house hunt is going well, Marie, I've been sending good home vibes your way! Sorry to hear that the house your husband liked wasn't the one, but good for you about listening to your inner voice. Things are going well for us on the home front! Our driveway is done, the plumbers have come and installed the tubs, the heating and air guys have come and installed the vents.
The weather here has been warm, though rather windy. Gusts up to 45 mph today. Tomorrow should be better, but we're expecting storms on Friday. Oh well, hopefully the rain will hold out until the construction is finshed for the day! Hope everyone's week is going well! It sounds like you had a great time. Lindsey, Glad to hear everything is coming along good with the house. I will keep my fingers crossed that the weather holds out for you. Marie, You said that my picture looked alot like you thought I would look like is that good or bad?
My finals start next week, and I'm just about pulling my hair out over bio. I'm studying really hard though. Oh, I think I've found the perfect smilie! So, on that lovely note, I'm heading off to my 8 am class, so have a good day everyone!! Good luck to all studying for their exams Just sneaking on here real quick to give you an update. First, Happy Birthday to all the April babies! Belated to those I missed, and early for next week's. Where did you live? Packing is in full-force today. We picked up the truck last night. I am going to finish the packing of boxes while my dear hubby loads the truck.
We have a couple of guys coming over this evening to help load furniture. By tonight, all of my worldly possessions will be in a big ole moving truck. We're camping in the living room tonight in sleeping bags, and then we hit the road tomorrow morning. I am really excited, but nervous. I hate the thought of all my stuff in that truck. But never fear, the Harry Potter books did get paced with the fine china It just happened that my book box got full and Harry had to go somewhere else, and conveniently the box with the china was just lying there open.
So, I may be able to borrow hubby's laptop to check in here, but if not, the next time you "see" me, I'll be in Kansas City! Best of luck to everyone else buying homes now.

And also, good luck to all of you taking final exams! Just relax and be confident when taking your exams - you already know it all! And here's a rainbow for all of you with too much rain: You wouldn't possibly be thinking of trying to get out of exams would you? I've made major moves 4 times, twice completely across the country. It is always kind of strange when all of your stuff is packed away.
On my last 2 moves, they even pulled my car into the moving van! My only advice is to take your time unpacking. It's much easier to unload once than have to move everything around once you in your new home. I'm glad to hear that your HP books are well looked after You do have your priorities in order Good luck for the exams, happy birthday to the ones I missed, and Mollis, may your things in the move get safely to your new home.
It's been a long time since I haven't posted, so I don't know where to start In fact it was the one of another family. He was as old as ours and had also left their home in the same period as ours. Unfortunately, that kitty was badly ill, and his masters were on vacation. I did as I would have liked someone to do if they had found my cat: But alas he did not survive and died on the morning of the day his masters came back. I felt so sorry not to have succeeded in helping it get well again. But I also felt relieved to see he would not suffer anymore.
Their masters thanked me. It was nice, all the same, to discover these people are good people, they could have said it was not their cat or reproach me for having spent money to try and save its life BTW, how's your kitty, Flame? It's hard to connect these days, because we have friends at home with their two 8-month-old babies. As we have only 2 bedrooms, we sleep in our daughter's and they have ours. Things go quite well, everyone tries not to spread their things too much and to respect the other's space of life. It's quite nice experience. And their babies are lovely.
Their married the same year as we, in , and had tried to have a baby eversince, without success. In this time, we had our two girls, and as you imagine, it was hard for them, even if they were really happy for us And then 2 years ago, they moved back to their original region South West of France and started an In Vitro Fertilization program. Last time we saw them they were just starting It's also a miracle to see how this joy changed their mind upon anything: On a different matter, I am starting to be optimistic again about my job research. I decided to tell the recruiters I deliberately stopped to work for a couple of years to take care of my children, even if this is not true.
I finally accepted the fact that a recruiter would rather choose someone who decides instead of undergoes his her situation. Don't say it's obvious and it should have been for me as i am a recruiter , it's much harder to do the right things for yourself than for the others. I had an interview yesterday, and this explanation to the "hole" in my C.
Now, we'll see if I convinced her on the fact I am the most qualified for that job! That was an excellent answer in your interview Now please don't make me cross anymore limbs, because then I will have trouble getting home in one piece. So sorry to hear about the cat Essidji, I think you did real well taking care of it. At least its' owners now have the knowledge that their cat spend it's last days surrounded with warm and love instead of somewehere outside all alone.

I'm unplugging now, so hopefully I'll "see" you all again very soon from the other side of this move! It seems like the last few years, we are having more ice storms and those are definitely bad!!! Oh Sherbie, it sounds like your house is really coming along!!! Hope the weather stays great and the workers will be able to work straight through to get it all done in time. I know you can't wait for it all to be over with! Julia--loved the smilie that you posted on !!!! I guess I'm going to have to download Smilie Central to get all of those cute little guys!!!
Mollis, I hate that I missed you before you unplugged the computer!!! Though you are through with all of your packing--don't you just love the act of packing? Reason I say that, we just moved ourselves 4 years ago and it was such a great opportunity to "get rid" of a bunch of junk that had been collected over the years.
Of course the down side of "unpacking" is when you've finally finished and go to look for something and can't quite remember where you put it!!!! I'm still running into that problem!!! Essidji--good luck with your job hunting!!! May it all work out for you and you get one that you love!! And what a kind heart that you've got in taking care of your neighbor's cat. Animal lovers are the best if you ask me!!! Sit on the couch, without a project in mind, and start practicing your stitches. The more effective you are at the basic stitches, the better your projects will turn out.
Be patient with yourself. It can take time to master these stitches. However, the time you take is important. Once you have a good handle on the foundation stitches, choose a simple project. Knitting is often a social activity and classes are offered in most communities. Check with your local tailor, yarn or craft store, or your community education center.
Grab a friend and bring someone with you to learn. We are all a bit scared of her now. What wonderous things HP does to people When your science teacher is droning on and on about space and stars and constellations and you are slowly but surely falling asleep and then you suddenly perk up on hearing about Sirius. But the teacher noticed and I got yelled at in front of everyone. When you get PoA for your 13 birthday and you read it like there's no tomorrow and your parents yell at you for not paying attention to the party guests and there's a huge row and you go upstairs with your book and refuse to come down.
I heard the party was good ,though. Excellant cake and absence inattentive HP fanatics being the main reasons, supposedly. Oh well they'll come around! Liz Mann - Apr 12, 7: If she's shouting it out like that it does suggest she really and truly does believe it. How old was she? Maybe I'm not so HP mad as I thought. I haven't yet started ignoring guests so I can come on the forum or read the books. Well, I have been on here while guests have been round but mainly because they were doing something else and I was bored. Although, maybe the reason why I haven't done it is because we don't have guests very often.

Doris Crockford - Apr 12, 7: But then you realize that it can't be Ron because the kid's hair is brown, and it can't be Ron's sweater because it's blue, not maroon. When you start relating everything in your everyday life to Harry Potter. When you are at Strings practice and your friends ask about the PoA movie, and you always know the answer to their question. And are angry that your friends haven't learned that Gambon is the new Dumbledore, even though you've mentioned it at least 5 times. When your friend says, "You know what I hate about the PoA movie?
When you should be doing homework but you're on the Forum When you realize that if you told this to anyone else, they would think you're crazy, but you know that everyone here will understand. I'm sure people get sick of me talking about Harry Potter. None of my friends have obsessions. That's why I love this forum so much!
I'm a teacher an it sounds like an excellent memory charm The Grey Lady - Apr 12, You've stopped playing the HP trivia games because a It's not always accurate, b you always win. Around Christmas time, you begin glancing around in stores for thick, woolen socks for DD. You were so eager to find out what happens in Book 5 you read it in exactly 12 hours, then nearly broke down because now you had to wait for Book 6.
It would be more effective to be sworn into court with your hand on a HP Book, rather than a Bible. Somehow, all the HP and HP related books have migrated to your bedroom. Including the 3 copies of each book, and 10 odd reference books. You spent 3 hours trying to get an avatar for the Lexicon, it didn't work, btw You can't spell the word 'serious' anymore, without writing 'Sirius'. You spent several nights gazing at the sky, looking for Sirius, Bellatrix, Andromeda, etc.
Liz Mann - Apr 12, I did find a picture, but each time I tried to load it, something was wrong too big, not if gif, not in jpg, etc. I'm going to haunt some other boards and see if it has any tips, then try again when I'm a little more awake. I hope you can get a picture working, Grey Lady! Liz Mann - Apr 12, 1: You can edit it in Paint so that it only shows the Grey Lady and change it to jpg.
I tried it and it's under 10K so it'll work as an avatar. Hermionefan 1 - Apr 12, 2: This always says to me, no matter if I'm reading HP or drawing Hermione, "you are way too obsessed with Harry Potter". I forgot to tell you I was going to Dallas! But I guess I wouldn't have been able to tell you anyways because I couldn't log in because it said my name was snicket. The Grey Lady - Apr 12, 3: Is there a way to compress it? I believe it is the correct size. The second one is the same picture, just edited a bit so you see more of the ghost.
The Grey Lady - Apr 12, 4: Star Crossed - Apr 12, 5: Severus is not hot. Computer project in eight grade, English essay in English 9 Which I finally finished. She's 15 years old but don't worry she's perfectly normal. For my standards anyway Freshwater, well the sentence forming thing is very useful for me and my sister because we're HP addicts. So it might not work for everyone. It's just alot easier to remember the meaning of a word when you have to learn loads and loads if you make a HP related sentence with it. Let's say we have the word incessant, the sentence could be: Hermione was incessantly going on about the house elves and S.
This helps us remember that incessant means never ceasing. Okay, so this was a very inppropriate post for this forum. Feel free to delete. But, of course, I'd like it if you didn't! The Great Abbycadabra - Apr 12, 9: All of my friends have obsessions, but they are sooo boring! Oh my gosh, it's all they talk about. Of course, I counter all that they say with a similar, though more important, HP statement.
Emily - Apr 13, 7: Liz Mann - Apr 13, Nothing works the way it's supposed to! Padfoot - Apr 13, 1: I was delighted for two reasons. One, being that its a Harry Potter tv sighting. Two, the commercial was advertised around 9 PM during a movie rated tv So therefor it was made for adults and teenagers to see, not just small children. Finally convincing a co-worker who thinks I am a bit nutty to let me borrow his daughter's dvds of SS and CoS! Guess what I'm watching tonight? The Lord of the Rings??? You are sure that no matter how bizarre my feelings about the mustache, someone on this forum feels my pain! Emily - Apr 14, 6: Liz Mann - Apr 14, 8: But I'm learning to accept it. Liz Mann - Apr 14, Padfoot - Apr 14, Though I am not sure if he has even heard of Harry Potter. Star Crossed - Apr 14, When you are so bored in math class, you come up with your own Aritmancy system.

The Grey Lady - Apr 14, 1: Liz Mann - Apr 14, 2: In fact, I'd tell them to see it with a friend and go out when that scene comes on, get your friend to stand by the doors and call you back in when it's over.

I did manage to see the Acromantula scene on the 3rd try , but in Lord of the Rings I either have to leave the room or curl up shivering in my chair when Shelob comes on. When, while researching his English paper on JKR, your boyfriend finds a bunch of Harry Potter book he knows you don't have and orders them all for you.

Liz Mann - Apr 15, 2: The premiere is the big celebrity showing. That's so not fair that some countries are getting the film before the country that made it! The frog is tiny and has rice crispies in it. I think the frog should have caramel so when you bite into it, it oozes like frog guts Catherine - Apr 15, 6: Have fun without me, HP fans! I draw the line at frog guts! Can anyone else confirm this? Sirius - Apr 15, On leaving I noticed a copy of the GOF and also opened that one to see who it belonged to, then I suggested she create a lost and found so that these precious books can be reclaimed.
Dr Filibuster - Apr 15, We also had fizzing whizbees so fizzy and tart they make your eyes water , liqurice wands, Bertie Botts different to USA , Honeydukes best chocolate, acid pops, dragon eggs Swedish, Chinese, Welsh and Hungarian. I haven't seen them for a while. Perhaps they went bust, or are lying low until the movies come out?
We had them all apart from acid pops, I've never seen them for the CoS movie. Berry flavored with a sugar mouse in the center. I think these are my favorite so far but I am still searching out the Fizzing Whizzbees. The texture on these are different and they are actually more tasty than most gummy snacks. They come in Pear, Watermelon, Tangerine and Cherry flavor. A Droobles Best Blowing Gum: They are small blue gumballs that have a hint of berry flavor. If you think of the old penny gumballs, you have it right.
It is a light blue color when chewed. I attempted 2 gumballs, I would think you need at least 4 for a decent bubble but this gum is sticky and difficult to remove from your face if your bubble pops.
