Our Day return guarantee still applies. I bought this before beginning my cardiology fellowship to utilize as a reference. With that disclaimer, I cannot speak to its value as a board prep tool persay, but recognize that it is written similarly to well-written review books that I've used in the past. There is a high emphasis on guideline-driven practice and some clinical study references.

The main utility is as a review for someone with some already-established clinical background in cardiology. The main downside is only one in which the book is not a relaxing pleasurable read, or full of tremendous discussion. For that, a standard textbook like Braunwald's would be better. At the same time, this book is not trying to fill that role.
I think as a review book for someone at my level, it is filling the bill. Certain elements could be improved in a future version to reflect the latest guidelines and practice patterns, as even in the last few years much of this has been updated. All in all, this book may be a reasonable review reference for someone in their fellowship, and perhaps one studying for their boards albeit I cannot speak from experience to that. However, it's best combined with the learning from one's clinical experience as well as didactic reading from more detailed texts or articles.
This book is great for practicing cardiologists for initial board prep or recert. Concise, stresses important points with reasoning. Great if you don't have much time. Good for clinical practice too!! Listen repeatedly the heart sounds from cardiosource or other websites that are free.
