The illustrations are amazing, and the story line is adorable yet poetic and eloquent. I was not bored reading this book to my daughter for the hundredth time and went so far as to search down other titles by this author. We bought another copy so that my daughter will have a fresh copy for her kids one day. This book's soothing and pleasant imagery supports it's beautiful poetic lullaby. I love reading it just as much as my daughter loves hearing and seeing the pictures and pointing them out.
I would purchase this as a gift for anyone expecting or with a young child and I would recommend it over and over again. It's fun to read, and full of art bold in but soft in content My month old loves this book. The rhyming, poetic text and beautiful illustrations make a wonderful bedtime story. And pointing out the things she is learning words for is fun for my daughter bunny, owl, stars, bird, flowers, etc.
I will definitely look for more work by this author. My daughter 28 months asks for this book every night since we got it a few months ago. The images are soothing and the verses use complex language. We had borrowed this book from the library when daughter was 12 months old and she liked it then as much as she does now.
This is a versatile book that will take you through the toddler years. I bought a second copy for my I have read this for quite a few years with my kids boys and they love it. I bought a second copy for my friend who just had a baby. See all 94 reviews.
