The Crucible is described as an attack on the Communist hunting of the 's, using the historical parallel of the Salem, Massachusetts witch hunts and trials of the late 's. These Notes do a great job of helping me to recall everything that went on in Miller's play, but the actual and literal afterward of the play shows that the play itself is directly attacking the Bible and Christianity. I have read The Crucible before, but I have to teach it to tenth grade students now. My cooperating teacher let me borrow this so I could guide the students and teach them all of the important parts of The Crucible. I must say that even though the summaries for each scene and act are very short, they make excellent points.

I can see myself reading them again as I teach this play to my students. It will be a good tool for me and them. I could even photocopy the summaries for students who need help I have read The Crucible before, but I have to teach it to tenth grade students now.
