See a Problem?

My current constant cat companion showed up a little later. The cat seemed to know I was a soft touch and, on spotting me, immediately ran up and began rubbing on my leg, purring loudly. She has four names. I kept her six kittens until they were eating ham and soft cat food on a regular basis, and then took them to a pet store for sale. They were tame and healthy and are making some child happy even now. Ever wonder how cats process data? I made a stab at it in my paranormal comedy released last week by Solstice Publishing.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for having me here. Oh Heavens, Miss Havana sounds great. Oh, Heavens, Miss Havana! Having performed a single selfless act, Miss Havana finds herself on probation in heaven. She wreaks havoc before God intervenes for a final showdown James has even given us an excerpt so read on!!!!!!!! The only solace here is that it will never happen again. I drift over, slither in and am surprised by what I find. The cat thinks in images. It remembers where food can be found, and where warm places to sleep are located during the frigid Denver winters.

The imagery is a hierarchy relative to survival, with the most easily available water, food and shelter at the top of its memory, hunting areas next, female cat locations and, finally, miscellaneous—things to do with humans, most of which are ignored or inconsequential. The terror his victims felt the last few minutes of their lives invades his mind.

I like the irony of this, and believe Lilith would enjoy it too. I wish she were here to play this game with me. I will play it out until he quits, but he will never play again. His fear gives rise to a massive urge to defecate, something I should encourage. He pisses and shits himself. I love this, but my fun has just begun. I take over partial control of his body, enough to command his muscles, but not to feel his pain.

I gently set the revolver on the floor while he fights to keep it, and then reach for the cutter. I hold it before his eyes, turning it on and off for effect. Its gentle whirr is comforting to me, almost like music, but the sound strikes terror in his heart. Lilith really should get some of these. I make a few shallow cuts across his opposite arm, being careful to avoid bleeder veins and arteries, and am delighted the device cuts fabric as easily as flesh.

He screams in pain.

Oh Heavens, Miss Havana!

The cut is indeed ragged; I had hoped for that. In Oh, Heavens, Miss Havana! Controlling Miss Jackie, Miss Havana confronts serious social issues head-on, and does so in a comical way. There are many pertinent requests for advice related to that topic, and even though the Internet advice was a joke, the concept was good. To use a general response, I need a general question, so I create a composite request for advice from many individual letters. If a man is lucky enough to have a dog that loves him unconditionally, but kicks the dog every day when he comes home, even the dog will grow to hate him.

I am that dog.

~ My interviews with many authors

The writing is outstanding, as is the editing. I loved reading it; I wanted to read more. The pace was fast and the topic interesting. In fact, this story could easily be expanded to a full-length novel, and would keep readers on the edge its entire expanded length. It is the Point of View I prefer. Only creepy music would have made these monsters more threatening. Remember the movie Tremors? They are a lot smarter, equally persistent and can hunt you down wherever you live. If your house has a second story, that might be a good place to read about them.

But all of this often leaves us facing three sets of problems: What else can you do with it, though? Fortunately I have written three cookbooks that, taken together, can resolve all these problems and more.

There you have it: The trinity of cookbooks you need not only this holiday season but all year-round: Now, where can you buy these books? Make it a good one! Yes, I write, but I love to read as well. Today I've had the pleasure of reviewing a novel and two short stories by Gary Peterson, author for Solstice Publishing. The reviews speak for themselves. You will enjoy his books. For those of you who remember the — Dragnet television series with Sgt. Peterson was careful not to jump-the-gun on the realities of that era, and ensured the personalities of the detectives and the technology of the day were consistent.

Personal biases led police in one direction, while friendship and faith in the accused led retired detective Gary Wise in another. I also liked the family atmosphere depicted in the book, a simpler time when hard times brought people together rather than tearing them apart. I believe the book is quite suitable for young adults and adults alike. There were baseball games at office picnics, homemade Christmas gifts and period television shows—all the things that could transport the reader back to that era, my era.

Okay, so that gives some insight into my age, but it also made me appreciate the work even more. It was a great read. The ending made me feel good all over. My problem in reviewing this book is not telling you how I felt about it, but how to describe it without being a spoiler.

Here is my interview with James L. Hatch

I can say this. There are hints throughout the novel about who the bad guys are, but I missed every one … until the perpetrators were revealed. Only then were the evil-doers clear to me. It was more fun that way. A vengeful office co-worker frames an honest and loving family man. He loses everything except his wife and children.

Nothing in the Miss Havana series is realistic. I also wrote three Sci-Fi novels that were initially published by xoxopublishing. When that contract expired, I took the rights for those books back.

I need to re-edit all three before re-submitting them for publication. They were my first published works, and they need lots of help. They are based on real science where I could do so. Are experiences in your books based on someone you know, or events in your own life? I include destinations I have experienced in all my books. What books have influenced your life most? The Miss Havana series, without question. In my case, I laugh almost all the time while I write those stories, and that is a natural high for me. The same man also posted on Facebook: The gent I keep reposting jokes from, James Hatch, is one hell of an author, and I have spent the last several days reading one of his series….

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? Probably Mark Covington, but no one knows who he is. What book are you reading now? Constitution in the way they did. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? What are your current projects? I am editing Aftermath Horizon for re-release by Eternal Press. Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

I have an elderly friend who taught me to ballroom dance. Strangely, she would not allow me to credit her when I published Kill Zone for fear of extremist reprisals. Do you see writing as a career? Not many people can make a living writing. I write for fun; not for profit. I am retired and can afford to do so. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book, The Trophy Wife? Only what the editor requires. Some people believe my comedy is a bit racy, but none of the Miss Havana novels have explicit material in them. Can you share a little of your current work with us?
