He tells Gracie that until her brother makes contact then she is not to leave his sight, she tries to make him believe she is innocent but also refuses to believe the worst in her brother. While the animosity between them heats up so does the desire each of them feel and Rocco begins to realise that Gracie is different to any woman he has ever met, but his difficult past as left him unable to trust easily.

And his lack of trust in her only ends up hurting Gracie, as she has fallen head first for Rocco. This is such a powerful and moving story, I couldn't put it down. It hooked me in right from the start - I loved the how the hero and heroine first meet, that opening scene is so evocatively written. The relationship that develops between the hero and heroine literally has it all; angst, betrayal, passion, pain, etc.

It creates such a wonderful intense mood, that combined with the very dark childhood each of them experienced makes this a very compelling story,. There is plenty of passion and emotion packed into this book, and it is wonderfully written. I enjoyed this book a lot. But when one of his employees commits fraud and runs away, Rocco finds himself irresistibly attracted to the employee's sister Gracie and insists she stay with him in his apartment -- just because she might be the key to the stolen money, of course. Naturally there's lots of mistrust and hurt feelings and fear of opening up, on both their sides. None of it's particularly original, but Green writes well and tells a good, emotional story. This story ticked all the boxes for me and I enjoyed the mention of a prior character Sebastian Wolfe from a previous book. When the characters meet for the first time, sparks flew between them and incinerated when they meet up again later. I loved the character of De Marco with his tortured past ,I am such a sucker for a tortured hero and he fit the bill very nicely. I liked both Gracie and Rocco as our hero and heroine and their romance was sweet, steamy and believable. Although there were the requisite bumps along the way, no one did anything cruel or unforgivable. The story is that Gracie's ex-con twin brother worked for Rocco as some kind of financial analyst. He makes a hasty call to Gracie saying only that he's in trouble and has to disappear for a while and then I really enjoyed this book. He makes a hasty call to Gracie saying only that he's in trouble and has to disappear for a while and then hangs up.

Gracie goes in search of Steven and finds an irate Rocco instead. They'd met just the night before at a business function and had an instant chemistry but she'd slipped away before he could pursue her. Once Rocco finds out she's the embezzler's sister, he vows to keep her close. At first Rocco says that he suspects she and Steven were in on the scam together, and later that she'll be his leverage for bringing her brother in. But throughout the whole exchange we as the reader get to hear Rocco's inner thoughts and it's clear that his true motives have more to do with his inescapable desire for her than anything to do with her brother.

It isn't long before they succumb to the passion between them and that first time together is hot, hot, hot! In fact, all their sex scenes are very hot. The author did a great job of keeping the sizzle factor high and in varying the encounters so it wasn't just the same thing each time. I really believed in how irresistibly they were drawn to each other. As their relationship grows, they both open up about their painful childhoods and in doing so, help each other heal. When they reach their happily ever after at the end it's very satisfying and I believed that they would indeed be happy for the rest of their lives.

All around just a very satisfying, well written book. Oct 07, Jenn - Reviews rated it liked it. The reason why Rocco and Gracie came together in the first place is because somewhere deep inside they could feel that they were kindred spirits. The love scenes were hot and the last couple of chapters in particular kept me turning the pages quickly.

This was the kind of book where, from the moment I started it, I was hooked, intrigued, and drawn in by the story. The writing practically begs you to keep turning the page. Well, what do you expect from Ms. There was really something special reading a book by Ms. All of her books possess an addictive quality that draw me in pretty much right away and this book is no exception. I loved both Rocco and Gracie. Rocco will This was the kind of book where, from the moment I started it, I was hooked, intrigued, and drawn in by the story.

Rocco will definitely rump up your pulse in the bedroom while at the same time managing to tug at your heartstrings because of what he'd been through. And even though he practically blackmailed her, and cold and downright stubborn he wasn't mean. And you can see early on that he genuinely cares for her and despite his domineering ways crumbles when he thinks he lost her.

And as for Gracie, she had a backbone. She stood up from what she believed. She had a quite intensity to her. They were absolutely perfect for each other.

    See a Problem?

Overall, The Legend of De Marco was a great read, with just a bit of drama to keeps things interesting without becoming too much. I'm definitely itching to get around to the rest of the books in the series! Mar 13, Tia rated it really liked it. Gracie O'Brien and Steven Murray were twins. Gracie was the twin that was not wanted, he brother Steven was the ill one her mother confessed to only love. When their mother took off Gracie took care of Steven and in his own way Steven took care of Gracie. When Steven got offered a job and was at a party, he invited Gracie as his plus one.

They were immediately attracted to each other, however that night Gracie ran. When Rocco De Marco finds Gracie and accuses her and her brother of stealing one million euros, Gracie is in shock. Since he can't get Steven, Gracie is to remain Rocco's prisoner and mistress. When Gracie gets to close to him, his past and his heart, Rocco hurts her intentionally over and over again.

When things eventually get sorted between Rocco and Steven, Gracie yet again runs! Will Rocco be able to convince her he truly loves her? I found certain parts of this novel emotional, so much so I had to swipe away some tears.

I could only imagine how badly Gracie would be damaged mentally after going through so much, not to mention Steven. I have absolutely no knowledge of the foster care system but if those things indeed happen in real life, I am absolutely disgusted! Nov 15, Fiona Marsden rated it really liked it.
