Vargas has Khan trapped in his own corner, pinning the year-old down with a series of big right and left hooks. The bell saves Khan for the second time in the fight as Vargas lands a right hook flush on the chin! The Brit is undoubtedly ahead on points but his chin still looks vulnerable. K han back-peddles as Vargas looks to go to work on the inside.
A big right hand from Khan sends Vargas reeling and stumbling into the ropes drawing huge cheers from an otherwise quiet crowd. Khan is letting his hands go but the punches don't contain the same venom that they did earlier in the fight. V argas continues to maraud forward. Khan has had barely any ring-time in the past two years and his lack of fight fitness is really showing. Khan has Vargas on the ropes in round five but somehow the challenger grabs hold.
The Colombian has taken some real punishment but he's still pressing ahead in relatively quiet round. V argas starts the fifth round as the aggressor. Khan looks to re-assert his authority with a series sharp jabs. Khan quickly goes through the gears, unleashing a flurry of punches forcing Vargas to cling on for dear life.
V argas basically sprints off his stool and makes a bee-line for Khan who looks a little less enthusiastic. Good early work from Khan who lets those fast hands go to back up Vargas - but how much are the shots hurting him? H ow are Khan's legs here? His legs look shaky as Vargas looks to engage.

Now it's Vargas' turn to hit the canvas! Vargas goes looking for another big shot but catches one of his own right on the top of the head, sending the Colombian tumbling to the ground. Vargas pleads foul play with the referee but he's having none of it.

K ell Brook, who has been talked up as Khan's next opponent, is at ringside. Down goes Vargas inside the opening 20 seconds of the second round!
Vargas in real trouble here. The Colombian desperately tries to smother Khan's speedy shots but the combinations just keep coming. Vargas nursing a bloodied nose as Khan continues to try and force the agenda. Down goes Khan, right on the round two bell!

Vargas comes right over the top with a huge overhand right. Khan jumps straight back up but he looks dazed, here. Khan presses forwards, throwing those fast hands to keep Vargas in check. Khan lands a nice combination but Vargas shakes his head as if to say "you'll need to hit harder than that! T ake two for Amir Khan who finally makes his way to the ring after his earlier false start.

But I've seen him fight and he's not on the same level as me. I'm a better fighter, he's not on the same level. A mir Khan says he favours a fight with Manny Pacquiao over a grudge match with British rival Kell Brook because he wants to fight a "boxing legend".

Moving on to the worldbuilding, Andy has created a world that, even though it seems to have faint echoes of our own, is interesting and unique, especially the world of the Vachine.
