Have to admit, Sidney Sheldon's is one of the best thrillers that I have read recently. Memories of Midnight was as good as the first part, which is not very common among books. I liked how we got to see all aspects of Constantin Demeris, and delve deeper into his life. The new characters introduced too were very well done. And Catharine, I absolutely She was still a ping-pong ball being bounced about by everyone. This story was more like a story of betrayals.

And the twists are pretty good. And also, Sheldon has done a pretty decent job of familiarizing the reader with the story of the previous book and the characters. Well, it felt a bit repetitive, but as a result this book may, as well, be read as a stand-alone. I would definitely be getting my hands on more of Sheldon's works as soon as possible. Constantin Demiris known as Costa is eager to get a revenge on Catherine our female character after her ex-husband Larry nicked Costa's mistress Noelle. He had framed both Larry and Noelle for killing Catherine and because of that, they were executed.
Now he is determined to kill Catherine but before that, he wants to do the same thing to her that Larry did to Noelle but in revenge way. Then he starts treating Catherine like a princess claiming to be her ex-husband's boss, and she blindly follows him without any question. I have read almost all of Sidney's books but never found a woman like her. All of the sudden he decided to make the woman the weakest character. Finally Catherine finds out that Costa is behind all her trouble and he is the one who killed her husband.
I thought then bang!! Now something interesting is going to happen.

He has that magic to glue his readers to his books. So, I was there reading anxiously that something good will come up. The one thing that kept me reading was I wanted to find out what Melina Lambrou Costa's wife was going to do to her husband, after everything he put her through.

This was totally displeasing. My heart goes out to Melina. I am probably reading too much of Sidney's book. I guess I need a break! Catherine goes into psychoanalysis and falls in love with the doctor, Alan Hamilton, who also falls in love with her. Three men arrive in London to study the operation there, and they all seem pretty weird. She has a bad feeling about them, but it is not until she is to be killed that she realizes that it is not the three men but the office boy who came along with them who has come to kill her.
She comes to know the truth about Costa and also that he was convicted. Constantin Demiris is being tried for a murder he didn't commit but, on the last day of the day trial, Spyros Lambrou testifies, setting Constantin free. Afterwards, on the way to Napoleon's home, Napoleon confides in Costa that even though he liked Noelle Page, he still helped him in killing her.
He starts driving faster and tells him that he has donated all the assets of his company to the convent, since he has no wish of being alive after what Costa did to him. Finally, he drives the car over the cliff down the steep mountainside, killing both Constantin Demiris and himself. In the book was adapted for television as a two part miniseries starring Omar Sharif as Constantin Demiris and Jane Seymour as Catherine Alexander.
The miniseries follows the events of the book very closely. However, the connection with the preceding book The Other Side of Midnight , which had been turned into a motion picture was lost as the story was placed in the then modern world, rather than immediately post-WWII.
