I have not read a bad IP Factly book yet! Dolphins have to be one of the most loved marine mammals of all time and this book will endear you to them even more. This book is written for the early reader - larger fonts, simpler sentences and not so much detail as in some of the other IP Factly books. Also great as a read aloud to. Dolphins are mammals, not fish! They have to come to the surface to breathe using the blowhole located on the top of their heads.
Bet you didn't know that it mostly hears though its jaw bone?! Stated as fact that dolphins evolved from land animals 50 million years ago. No one actually knows that, it is a theory. One photo shown is of a wolphin. Unfortunately there is no information in the book on this but if you press on the name Kindle will take you to Wikipedia and tell you some interesting facts on the wolphin.
At the end of the book there is a "What have you remembered" section with 16 questions. The answers are included on the following page! Following that you will find over 20 YouTube videos on dolphins! We use these books and videos as resources in our homeschool. It saves so much time not having to search through YouTube yourself but parents please be vigilant around your children as sometimes the Google "click" ads that appear on the bottom of the screen are not appropriate for kids.
