Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I have been reading Betty Neels books for years.. On the scale of why I give a book five stars this warrants them because it made me all misty and I don't really know why. It is a fairly typical story with the rich Dutch Doctor Rolf van Duyren who also happens to be a Baron.
He's not a standard hero having a more obvious temper and looking like a Demon King with his slanty eye brows. Sappha is recovering from a cheating fiance so she's probably not in a good headspace to meet the new man in her life. Rolf certainly puts Andrew in the shade really quickly but with the usual stubborn miscommunication from the heroine and the lordly assumptions from the hero we manage to hold off until the end when his sister throws a spanner in the works just as things looked like sorting out.

Yes, this one does have a nurse and a Dutch doctor. The doctor's younger sister unintentionally complicates matters. I thought the story developed more completely than many of the others. When the heroine asks if she can keep working as a ward nurse after they marry. The hero laughs and says no, but you will keep busy at home answering the mail.
Here is her response: This was a very good read. I always like the stories when a couple get married as "friends" and fall in love. Somehow that is kind of a Cinderella story for me.

I don't understand this "Best of Betty Neels. Or is she finding books or stories that Betty Neels started but didn't finish. I enjoy Betty Neels when I want something light and enjoyable. And for a relatively small country holland seems overrun with nobility and millionaires; normal people seem thin on the ground. With that said, if you want a gentle, relaxing read I recommend this book. If you enjoy your romances light, clean, fluffy and vintage then you will enjoy the wonderful work of Betty Neels. Kind of a slow start, but the story picks up speed a bit down the road.
A usual Betty Neels love story.
