Is the third time the charm? Because I can think of three good reasons not to let Nick Sullivan back into my life. So what did he have to offer anyway? A sexy grin and a killer sense of humor? All of the above, if I think about it. After fifteen years, he shows up looking better than ever for a place to hide, with a story about being framed for murder. I should give him the boot. But it is murder.

You are able to identify with Phillipa and feel her insecurities and enjoy the fact that she just flat took charge of her life and worked to make her wish come thru. But Nick's tale was just as inspiring. This author took a man who couldn't trust himself and with Phillipa gave him the courage to learn that he was worth just as much as he thought Phillipa was worth.
Yes it most definitely an HEA book but the getting there was what I found to be the truely interesting part. We travel along each path and feel the insecurities, pain and dawning hope and love right along with the characters. Bravo to Deborah Cooke you once again have completely enthralled me and left me wanting more. One person found this helpful. I am only about halfway through this book. Will update the review if I can force myself to finish it. I have two of the other books in the series on my Kindle but don't think I will even start them.
This book is extremely boring. I cannot care about the characters. The plot jumps around. Parts of the story make no sense. I wish I had not wasted my time on it. I am usually picky about books I read as I want to enjoy each book I select. This is not on the level of Emily Griffin or Elin Hilderbrand. Don't waste your time. I have read over 20 books by this author, under all her names.
I had a hard time getting into this one. I am not use to her writing in the first person, so that took awhile to get use to. I much prefer her Highland or Time Travel books. If I read this first, I doubt if I'd bought any other books by her and that would be a huge shame, because she is so talented. This book hints at lovemaking, doesn't go into detail.
Reward Yourself
You know they DO IT, but that is as far as you get. It has some twists, that surprised me. There isn't a cliffhanger - yea!! We are also treated to an Epilogue, which I am always a sucker for.
Third Time Lucky
Even though all we are given are kisses, I did feel a connection to our couple, which shows the talent of this author. I am not going into the premise of the story, as others have described it. Just know I liked both our H and h. I liked how the romance build slowly. Deborah has a knack for combining historical elements in a contemporary way, which is perfect for modern readers interested in combining chorological and modern facets of literature. Claire cross comes up with plots containing engaging dialogue between the characters, who are unforgettable in a sense.
Unlike her Dragon Fire series, she does not incorporate paranormal elements that she is known for. The female characters are powerful and strong, which helps female readers develop a sense of courage and independence.
