Bipolar and ADHD: A Double Whammy!

A few broken tailbones and some compressed vertebrae I had no idea about for several years until an xray during a diagnostic exam for fibromyalgia which I have, in addition to joint hypermobility. By 19, I had chronic tendonitis bilateraly in my shoulders, hips, and ankles.

I also have chronic migraines. I figured if I was going to be in pain anyway, why should I give up what I love? I was a snowboard instructor. I was back on the mountain less than 5 months later after rigorous physical therapy. A year later I took up downhill mountain biking and crashed a lot.

Had wrist surgery that fall. Not even a big deal. Up to 10 concussions, 5 while wearing a helmet. I get that a lot of this is a result of my choices. Wow, my story is literally identical. I have painful things in my past, just like everyone. And what I find is that depression makes it really difficult to move on from that past pain. He makes sure I never miss taking my pills and we have the promise to each other that we will stay medicated. We have never had a fight and get along well. I know I am lucky and this is not the norm. Lucky for us I am higher functioning and am able to do a lot of necessary daily duties. We are best friends and stay away from conflict. We are able to feel comfortable in an older home we keep slowly fixing up with help of some friends and out of town kids. I make an effort to keep it pretty clean because I know it can get away from us and go down quickly. I would love to be able to have a support group for us like aa does. It would be helpful to know about other couple's bipolar relationship.
