But when her plans for the evening suddenly involve defending her life against a criminal empire, Rayna knows she needs backup. The choice she made to leave Ty and her old mercenary team in Montana starts to seem like a bad call. She's been running from her feelings for the tough, rugged man, but Rayna needs Ty now more than ever. Yet when Ty becomes the new target, his help could mean his death. Ex-cop Ty Whitlock has spent the last six years waiting for his past to catch up with him. When it finally does, he isn't expecting the woman he loves—the one who walked out on him—to be caught in its web.

He knows she's moved on, but he can't help wanting another chance with the petite beauty. Boy, was I ever wrong. I am an Alpha female who loves an Alpha male and love to butt heads with him to get to the make part anytime. Brown credit for great character development and her plots are very good. She seems to like to bring in little surprises even as she develops her plot that make it more interesting. I do have to admit that there were a couple of times that I wanted to pop Rayna on the head for being so stubborn but I remembered I was probably as stubborn as she is.

He still hired me anyway. If I had asked someone to write a book especially for me that I would enjoy every page, Ms. Brown you did it! Purchasing her other books without even reviewing them first. I've ready every book in this series. First of all, each man is different with his own strengths and hang-ups.

If You Only Knew (Trust No One, #3) by Dixie Lee Brown

It takes a talented author to create men who aren't paper doll characters of each other. Rayna had done a number on Ty's male pride--and face it, no one can sulk like a man. They either clam up and hide behind the newspaper, or rant and rave, or tear things apart. Dixie's men are lovable for their differences and strengths.

Her heroines are equally as varied. I loved the action and the added tension of the extra woman in this book.

Oh, and Ribs, what's not t say about this wounded, starving stray dog with a heart as needy and, yet, as giving as his. Dixie Lee Brown has delivered another action-filled romance that will grip you and leave you watching the calendar for the next installment of this series.

The plot is suspenseful and has some eyebrow-raising revelations that add unexpected twists to keep the story from being predictable. In the midst of the danger, the hero and heroine struggle to rekindle their stalled relationship, which has never really progressed beyond friendship althoughtheir feelings for each other run much deeper. Rayna and Ty do have one explicit, sizzling love scene that is also sweet because their union is based upon more than just lust.

When Andre Komarov abducts Rayna as a means of blackmail, Ty and the rest of the team come to her rescue, and Ty must deal with his unresolved connection to this ruthless criminal.

If You Only Knew

Even though Ty worries he may lose Rayna once his secrets are revealed, he is still determined to protect her until Andre is no longer a threat. Much of the action is focused on rescuing Rayna from multiple kidnappings which eventually becomes overkill. However, the climactic final showdown between Ty and Andre is great and kept me riveted the entire time.

Rayna and Ty are surrounded by a great cast of characters. The heroes from the previous books, Joe and Walker, continue to play prominent roles in the series, and I like being able to stay connected to these characters. I do plan to backtrack and read the first book so I can fully experience the entirety of this series, yet, I also think readers can still enjoy If You Only Knew without having read the previous novels. The first half of this book I did not like Ty at all.. He was a whiny crybaby about Rayna leaving him.

She apologized numerous times, said she wanted another chance and he ignored her and kept crying about her leaving. I wanted to smack him. But thankfully he snapped out of it and I grew to like him a lot. The book was action packed from the beginning and I loved the story line. Dixie is one of my favorite authors and I look forward to more books from her.

You showed the truth, that they are all not bad and should not be judged and found guilty solely on their appearance. Notify me of new comments via email.
