His story is told in sufficient detail that one cannot doubt his guilt. Alcala was tried three times for the kidnapping, rape and murder of year-old Robin Samsoe, receiving the death penalty after each conviction.

During the third trial, charges were added for four additional murders, thanks to the availability of DNA identification. Alcala was subsequently tried and convicted of two additional murders in New York where he received a sentence of 25 years to life. New York does not have a death penalty.

In fact, a death penalty in California is an empty victory as they warehouse their death row inmates and never carry out an execution of the death penalty. A must read for true crime enthusiasts. Well written and captivating. This was a short book with exact same information from 48 hours and pages were simply definitions of mental health and medicines taken from psychology books and definitions of crime sentencing taken word for word from statutes. I loved the detail on not only the crimes, but also all of the appeals that took place, and how long this guy has been on death row, and is still there today!
He would choke his victims into unconsciousness then revive them only to repeat the torture again.
He specialized in creating false photo auditions in which he would book prospective models for a photo shoot then rape and kill them. A traveling serial killer, Alcala would operate out of the Los Angeles area but would journey as far as the Pacific Northwest in search of victims. He would have a locker in Seattle where he would keep a stash of mementos and photographs of his victims.
In September of , authorities released a series of photographs that they believe could be additional victims of Alcala. I feel bad writing a bad review on this but all it is is a tiny little pamphlet with a few pages about Alcala that are repeated over and over again online so there was nothing substantial in it.

Also, I personally caught a couple of actual incorrect information on Alcala. Then, it has several "chapters" on other serial killers. This was a complete waste of money!

It's really horrific that the legal system could not apprehend sooner. Rodney Alcala was a prolific, relentless killer who stalked, raped and murdered in many locations. With camera in hand, he lured young women by offering to photograph them, providing a portfolio that would put them on track to a glamorous career.
This serial killer was so bold as to appear as a contestant on the Dating Game while police were actively looking for him. This is a "would be" story where the writer repeatedly uses "would be" to describe past events.
